After seeing this concert again, timeless and human in the best possible meaning of the word, restores a bit of my faith that we humans ARE capable of saving the planet and all who sail in her. Paul Simon and a few other musicians of the 60s and 70s make me feel alive again.
Like sir Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan, paul Simon is one of those people who in his lifetime has created an incalculable amount of joy across the world. I've been blessed and fortunate to live during their time on this Earth and I have seen the two Pauls perform live in concert at Madison Square Garden 😊♥️🎼🎵🎶🎵🎸🎹🥁🎙
I know, right? That line "Some have died, some have fled from themselves and struggled to get from here to there." is just so recognizable, I lost so much of my old high school buddies that way.
Paul, i'm a Brazilian who has loved you since I was born! My father died and was your biggest fan, he played all his songs and did not realize the dream of going to a show. In June I w go to Toronto realizing the dream! If I can and give a strong and unforgettable hug. Thanks
Thanks you I really appreciate for the lovely comment and kind words , I just want to say thank you for the supporting of my music I hope you won't stop listening to my songs? I want you to send me a direct message via hangouts using my personal email . Also endeavor to add your name to the text so I can know you are the one texting because I don't reply unnecessary messages Hangouts mail: paulsimon1790613@gmail.com
Two forces come together. Paul Simon and those brilliant drummers. It's from the womb, a heartbeat. Simon constantly triumphs over Garfunkel, he was the mover and shaker. Brilliant!
Same here. Ever-darn-time. for the 100th time. It's such a powerful phrase and chord combination. The signs of a genius at work. Really loved your comment confirming not being the only one being pushed to the edge of tears by a "simple line"
The You Tube video of this song was breathtaking. However, the video of this song from this London concert is pure genius. The band was one of best bands of all time. However, in the end, it will always be the stupendous artistry of Paul Simon, a musical treasure, who makes it all go! He is a tour de force for all time.
I always loved Paul Simon (Graceland is one of the top ten albums from the 80's in my book) but for the past 5 years( i'm 50 now) all of his musics are really starting to take a deeper meaning - to become more real in the flesh. Either i'm getting older or just receding into a "obvious child".
I agree. I've seen him six times (including this gig) and every time, I've thought to myself that if I had the resources, I'd follow every gig he ever does. As an artist, he's out on his own.
This is so great, and the video panning the stage and the audience, just makes you so want to be there. This is another video that I play over and over.!
The earliest memory I have of music. My old man played this album constantly and laughed as I danced around the living room in nappies. What a song, what a memory ❤️
E imaginar que esse cara veio à Salvador na Bahia há muitos anos atrás e tocou essa música com a Banda Olodum. A qualidade continua a mesma apesar do passar do tempo!!!!
Viva Olodum! , I saw them in Bahia as well, gorgeous rhythm and music☺️🇧🇷 Have to admit that also the musicians here did a good job indeed in keeping the original energy, but they are smtg to watch and listen live⚡
@@meireferreira8990 I may not speak Portuguese, but I came to the comment section to say exactly what Google Translate told me you said as well. It's still awesome, but the drums just are leagues away from - for example - the '91 concert in Central Park.

A magnificent song performed by one f the very greatest songwriters of our time. What a band!
Paul recently celebrated his 80th birthday. He's one of the greatest legends in the history of recorded music.
Pp9pplppp9
without question.
I love this. Thank you. Beep. 💕🦊
I could not agree with you more.
Yes. 😊
This is why Paul Simon remains New York's favorite son and the greatest songwriter / performer of the 20th Century and our time
...and why we love him here in Britain.
Some artist really know how to lift your soul. This man is a legend.
I moved from my home when I was young, paul is my older brother, his music, lyrics got me through.
What a genius band. The only thing I like more is the cut aways to the audience capturing what an amazing time they are having, Simon is a treasure.
norman: ❣️AMEN❣️THANK THE MUSES ~ The Force is great in this one ~ ♥️☝️ ♥️
From Canada in 2024.....I have watched this concert dozens of times......I wish I had been there live Timeless Paul Simon
Pauls sense and use of rhythm is beyond all bounds. The guy is a musical magician and a wonder in our world of music.. Top notch....

Still Amazing After All These Years...
Still crazy (good) after all these years.
Here in 2021 because it's just the right place to be. Legend.
I'm in there somewhere, with my parents and my brother. I think the only major concert we have all been to together...

This song didn't used to make me cry. Now my face gets all wet listening to it.
I know, right?
That line "Some have died, some have fled from themselves and struggled to get from here to there." is just so recognizable, I lost so much of my old high school buddies that way.
Slobbering is a problem for pensioners.
Such a deep, meaningful song. Paul Simon is a genius.
Same here.
Same effect here. Good music can do that.
This man and his music makes the world more beautiful...
Good lord, the variety of drums and rhythm in this mind-blowing

I love Paul Simon's African music
He is and always be a legend. ❤❤
Olodum' and Paul Simons.
Brazil' songs❤️
This is simply a musical and lyrical masterpiece.
The percussion and drum parts alone were worth the admission price for this magnificent concert.
Can we just call attention to the fact that Paul Simon's voice has not changed one bit in 50 years? Pretty amazing if you ask me. Love this song.
Two forces come together. Paul Simon and those brilliant drummers. It's from the womb, a heartbeat. Simon constantly triumphs over Garfunkel, he was the mover and shaker. Brilliant!
One of the most gifted lyricists around.
"Some have died! Some had fled from themselves and struggled from here to get there" That always tears me up
The cross may be in the ballpark but this masterpiece is spot on! ❤

Sir, it is absolutely amazing how You move a sea of people
"Some have died, some have fled from themselves, or struggled from here to get there." (Lump in my throat)

That line really got to me the first time, and still really seems to sum up my life - as well as the bit about ‘his thinning brown hair’…
Off the wall, Paul, off the wall. Poetry to music.
The light was perfect for the best song, just magic
The best songwriter all of time !
A true anthem from a stellar artist.
This was some gig!!

Paul had the best live performances, I've been to 3 of his concerts, each was a feast of music, I enjoyed them so much
I agree. I've seen him six times (including this gig) and every time, I've thought to myself that if I had the resources, I'd follow every gig he ever does.
As an artist, he's out on his own.

Sempre! Imenso artista, criativo, inovador. É arte!!!
The man in the park has the stage 🎸👍
On top of all his other skills, he has always been incredible at recognizing talent.
Wonderful!!!👏👏🎶💗
He sounds a lot more robust here than he has on other dates in 2017. He looks like he was pumped for this show.
Seederman he was 5 years older by 2017. This is 2012.
Best song writer I've ever heard

Paul Simon uma lenda ✨👏🏾
Os músicos dele aprenderam direitinho com o Olodum em 1991🥁✨👏🏾
Foi em 90 ou 91? Fiquei na dúvida agora...
Paul is great lovely for ever green hits
thank you...
아 세월의 흔적 너무도 값지다.
