First of all, thanks for your review! Was flying with one of the Gator cases ever a problem when it comes to the size of the case? As checked luggage it should not be bigger than 158 cm (length+width+height). This one seems to be 2-3 cm to big (according to information on the internet).
You're welcome! :) I have not flown with this case yet. I think it depends on the which airline you fly with. I would call your airline or check out their website. If it exceeds the max size, they will charge you an additional fee, so keep that in mind. Thanks.

Have not flown with this case, but other Gator cases, yes. Just got light scuffs on the outside. Good protection, would not not hesitate using this on a flight. If its a really expensive guitar and you are worried, I would upgrade to the Gator "Titan" series. Really beefy case and waterproof
