The fact that she sat that out with composure and was emotionally intelligent enough to call him out on not being ‘smart enough’ to recognise his lack of self awareness. Shows she is mentally “strong” (in his words) and (emotionally) intelligent.

This dude is a perfect example of why women should continue to be strong and independent. His ego is radiating insecure and controlling. He looked pissed at the end, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was a ticking bomb so rigid and unable to let loose and ready to go off. He also wouldn't compliment her when she was talking about what seemed like similar interest and seemed like someone who would hold back appraisal to a woman he felt intimidated by. Nope, this is not just your observation, it's just your imagination. Nothing of what you wrote is a fact, it's all based on pure speculation.
Most feminist I know (myself included) do not judge how a person chooses to live. If you want the traditional life, go for it. If you want the opposite, go for that. What we don't do it tell people what they should be doing. I've noticed that traditional men tend to be the ones who TELL women that they will be happier in the house. If you want a housewife, take a housewife. But stop telling all of us that thats the role we should be interested in.
I’m not a feminist, but I have always seen my marriage as a team situation. We choose to take each other (and each other’s families) as our team. I worked then stayed at home then worked and then stayed at home again. I started at home because 1) the daycare cost 2) all the sick days and appointments that kids have the first year or so 3) my personal beliefs about children’s psychology 4) my husband has a salary of $140,000 and he is not very good with babies (so it wasn’t reasonable). When the pandemic started my husband was WFH while I was out of the home. He made a commitment to wash every dish since 2020 because he didn’t have the commute and could squeeze it into his day!
I think the main problem is that so many men were raised traditionally, but do not have the salaries to support a woman, so they expect a woman to work, 50:50 bills, but then be more of a house slave than a teammate or partner.
I completely agree with you and I think it’s because not many women want that role now they have options and I guess if women don’t want that role and would be happier single than filling the role and men want a partner they will have to change slightly what they are looking for and adapt

Feminism is about equality, all the rest are either women who doesn’t know what feminism is but want to act weird and at shock value or men projecting their insecurities calling any self secure women a feminist as a derogatory term. 😂

It's basic maternal instincts that get in the way of a full-time career. This is why men reach top more than women. But there is equality of the genders. Now a woman can become prime minister. But there are obviously pros and cons to being a man or woman. And most suicides are men.

I was thinking he might be very sensitive, intelligent, interesting . . . until he brought up his views on feminism and gender roles and capabilities. Then I realized that he is a complete idiot with views so old-fashioned and outdated that he belongs in medieval times. Women are at least as intelligent and capable as men - period! And women deserve 100% full equality with men in all aspects of life. That is what I believe wholeheartedly, and in a female partner I would seek someone who is my total equal but who complements me (as I her). Women do have 100% equality in fact have more opportunity and arent as detrimented as you may believe or think. Take trades for example look at the percentages of trades like carpenters plumbers electricians tree surgeons under water welders firepersons these to name but a few have such small numbers of women, why???? It comes down to choice a woman most of the time will hardly ever choose these industries because they are dangerous and difficult, so in terms of capability i dont fully agree. Take war for example men always have been and still sent to their deaths, viewed as surplus to requirements. And yet its men who set these to protect women and children in order to sustain humanity etc. But modern wave fwminism doesnt want to partake in the industries so heavily populated by men hmmmmm.

It has more to do with equality in terms of both men and women deserving to be treated humanely. Both deserve love, respect, opportunities, freedom, to be valued as we are and so on. On average most men will be better at labour work since they have a physical advantage, some women may thrive in that field too but it may be less frequent. The point is neither gender is better, both deserve to be embraced as they are and complement each other.

Wanting a traditional woman as your partner does NOT align with splitting the bill! Traditionally the man should be the provider and pay for the expenses Alexander. You can’t have it both ways.
At the same time, neither can you for wanting him to split the bill in such an obviously tense and disagreeable context. They clearly differed massively on a fundamental perspective and it was causing immediate tension to the point where things were turning closer into an argument than the kind of happy date where a man looking for a traditional woman would do what many women mistake as the 'traditional' thing and pay the bill, given we're not at all in traditional times, nor is she a 'traditional' woman. Why, based on the energy of the date, would you still expect him to pay the bill, in this context?

Because even if romance is the frame where women DO tend to fall into typical gender roles most because of sexual polarity you don't "explain the game" and your expectations of how things should go with a potential partner. As long as it is both agreed and you both respect each other my dad was the business/financial side and my mum was the emotional and disciplinarian we grew up my sister and i to be well rounded individuals and secure

Good for her, a woman who appreciates what Life has to offer and knows the sky's the limit! He's an almost comical throwback to another century where men just assumed they ranked first, and that women by dint of their "emotional" makeup were not capable of making the same intelligent decisions as men. It worries me that he's a teacher, and will likely impart his lopsided and outdated values to children, who will be told that females should avoid being "too independent" and that males are naturally geared toward intelligent thought and reasoning.

I am a man and am shocked and disappointed in Alexs views. I do not believe Alex understands the definition of feminism, he discussed intelligence and feelings which holistically illustrates that maybe he is not fully informed on the term. Feminism is important for change in an antiquated society that relied solely on one gender, not that in itself was an unhealthy balance. This is not specifically about balancing male and females but again about equality nationally as some societies could overlap this poor belief to race or sexual orientation. Feminism is an important step to world balance where everyone is inclusive to change and inclusivity. Kelly was amazing and composed herself till the end. Alex needs to be more aware, reflect, have insight to his errors and makes changes to support a better society and world.
