The Chilla’s Art games have improved A LOT (in terms of animation, story, art, etc) but I love that they still have that sort of strange/off vibe that they’ve had since the beginning
I was JUST thinking this as I noticed the NPCs in the game and suddenly realised how much of an improvement they are to earlier games in the series. Good on them, these are real impressive improvements.
It was so frustrating for me, especially how right after it talked about an intruder and I was like that office "NO GOD PLEASE" meme when he didnt read the rest of that one either lol
@Letycs I dont think there was anymore but because it had just happened and we could SEE it was seat 8, I thought maybe there could be more, I donnnntttt think there was more but I panicked because of it lol
Oooohhh, Manly running away before noticing his seat number was painful. Also that kid's Duh! was "Yeah, in hindsight, I realize my explanation kinda sucked."
The red leaf jungle is usually portrayed as hell/afterlife/purgatory in Japanese anime and games, kinda like the red spider lily is associated with death.
@@huytungnguyen119 Really? So would a natural grove of Japanese maples be considered unlucky or be associated with death, in Japan? I live in the Northeastern US, and it always makes me a little sad when I learn people don't like when a bunch of one of our native plants or shrubs grows together due to some unlucky association... they tend to get cleared :(
If you notice when you first meet the kid and the young woman, they're sitting in seat 4. Just an neat little detail that already gives away that they're dead.
Really interesting how games inspire/expand off each other. "I'm on observation duty" had the original concept, "Exit 8" added the time loop, and now "Shinkansen 0" combining the idea with a narrative.
I wonder what you’d call this genre anyways. And I do love the innovations here. I think the next innovation would be to give the player the ability to interact with the anomalies in some way. Like maybe you can take an anomalous object back with you and it can interact in some way to a “normal” floor, causing it to change in some way and opens up different pathways or something.
The narrative was actually surprisingly good. That final shot with the siblings on the train tracks actually made me feel something, which is pretty impressive for a game with a concept like this. Also, Exit 8 being inspired by P.T. makes a lot of sense, because if you actually think about it...P.T. basically had the same structure. You loop through the same hallway over and over again, observing or searching for the changes which happen around you. It basically is the same thing gameplaywise.
@dx-ek4vr maybe add the character interactions from something like "That's not my Neighbor" to the hallway-anomaly genre? Would be a lot of extra things to remember, the developer would need to be careful
the woman running pushing the food cart super fast is probably the most I've jumped in a chilla's game, I love scares like that, no loud noises, just something that when you notice it gets you off guard
That was pretty scary not gonna lie, but it wasn’t until the climax close to the end when going to the normal side of the train and being pursued by that freaky ghost with the eerie/creepy music playing in an attempt to get to the conductors room/pressing the button that terrified me the most.
One thing I noticed was partway through the train has an announcement about a passenger collapsing, and then the car after has another announcement of there being an intruder on the train. I realized at the end that the first announcement was from the living world train, talking about your collapse. The second announcement came from the spirit world train, talking about you showing up on the train when you shouldn't, since you only passed out and aren't actually dead.
Yeah the first announcement was about the boy and girl, because they showed up right after the announcement, and they were sitting in seat 4. The send announcement was because you weren’t supposed to be there
So the first ending is where 'You' get off the train. And go to the afterlife. Second ending is where you escort the 'Brother' and 'Sister' to the afterlife. And wake up in the real world.
I didn't realize the train was stopping and thought the orange leaves were some kind of fiery sky and thought to myself "Damn, we just sent the older sister to hell in the other ending". Kinda glad that that's what not happened, but it's funny that that was my immediate thought.
Oh, turn back if there ISN'T an anomaly is a great choice, because not only does it mess with people (especially those that played Exit 8 before), but it forces you through the zone even if you already noticed something very wrong.
yeah I saw that there was something wrong with the reflection, but had to replay few times that part as Manly turns waay to fast to this kind of game lool
Wow, that was surprisingly sad. Then again, Japanese horror stories often are. I'm glad they took the time to show them seemingly happy again in the end.
Yeah, for Chilla's Art standard, this is one of ending with more positive note. None of the characters here suffers in the end, despite all the supernatural element. Which contrast to their usual formula of mundane horror, with generally downer endings.
Well there's the remaining question of what kind of afterlife sticks you on a looping train with horrors when you die, and needs some outside intervention to break you out... could be innocent, but no way you should trust that at all.

theory: I think the siblings are dead and on "the road to heaven" or the path to the afterlife. At first I thought the reverse, and the player is dead and that's why the exit is bright light. But that was debunked by the Doc saying the siblings were in an accident earlier. So the player & them must be in some kind of Purgatory like in-between. Hence, the sister saying "It's not your time yet".
Here is a theory. Getting through the loop decides if you live or not. the siblings failed to get through the loop. or maybe only if you have a chance to live and the girl did not loop because her death was guaranteed?
@@phantom-ri2tgpretty sure the siblings souls were trapped in purgatory recently probably run over by the train or something, and the man's soul was just temporarily trapped in between and was able to help them escape that demon that probably would have taken them to hell had the man not intervene.

That’s why I’m subscribed hahahah ❤
I love when UA-camr is humorous but also knowledgeable and respectful!
theory:
I think the siblings are dead and on "the road to heaven" or the path to the afterlife. At first I thought the reverse, and the player is dead and that's why the exit is bright light. But that was debunked by the Doc saying the siblings were in an accident earlier. So the player & them must be in some kind of Purgatory like in-between. Hence, the sister saying "It's not your time yet".
That's not a theory That's just the story
Yeah.. that is literally the story lol.
Here is a theory. Getting through the loop decides if you live or not. the siblings failed to get through the loop. or maybe only if you have a chance to live and the girl did not loop because her death was guaranteed?
That's... pretty explicitly said in the game itself? Not much of a theory when the game literally just flat out tells you that lmao
@@phantom-ri2tgpretty sure the siblings souls were trapped in purgatory recently probably run over by the train or something, and the man's soul was just temporarily trapped in between and was able to help them escape that demon that probably would have taken them to hell had the man not intervene.
I jumped at the girl's reflection on the window ☠️ Chilla really upped the observation game! Coupled with their uncanny valley vibe and story, it's really eerie
I like how in "Exit 8" we were at the subway station, now we are in the train
that face seriously was unnerving
This was my favorite Chillas Art game so far! I couldn't look away and the ending was satisfying without undermining the scare factor. ⭐
Wow, major improvement over all by Chilla even in the first ten minutes. But still the same feel I've come to know and love from this game creator. Always love seeing Chilla Art game playthroughs.
Not for nothing but this is the best version of the "spot the difference" phenomenon that I've seen.
This type of game is quite interesting and this one makes special progress on the whole formula by adding mistakes, characters to interact and failure scenarios
I love when manly plays chillas art games, it’s my favourite UA-camr playing my favourite game creators game
I appreciate that this is clearly inspired by exit 8, but still has a LOT of creativity!
Exactly what I needed now, after a bad day, thank you manly
The modeling and characters improved a lot, good for Chilla's Art
Chilla’s artstyle has improved so much it’s amazing. The animations are crisp and the movements ohh my goodness. Chilla will always be my favorite creator
Always great to see a new Chillas game. I like what they did with this new "Anomaly Hunt" genre, the story wasn't super deep or complex but it made the mechanics a lot more interesting and engaging.
>Human Meat
>Trains
YES I HAVE BEEN SO AFRAID
We don't talk about love town
Midnight Meat Train
@@miguelaltamirano2538that sounds like a nice place actually. It could be a place where we all can become one through love. Sounds like a merry place :)
God, even here too? Ruina fans are everywhere.
Yes I have been so distant
@@SirFailure I think it could be too merry for my liking, tho...
God the women in the pink jumpsuit got me thought it was a fleshy monster going for manly a sec 😂
ME TOO omg i jumped so bad
I thought it was pink guy lmfao
i love him trying to figure out if the sandwiches changed from ham to pastrami or some sh*t, meanwhile all the changes are all actual spooky stuff. like do you think luggage storage and ham sandwiches are that scary, mister manlybadasshero? lol
Don't trust convenience store ham sandwiches.
All of the seat numbers that have people are multiples of 4, nice subtle detail
(for anyone that doesn't know, 4 is an unlucky number in Japan because it can be pronounced 'shi', which means death)
The human models in this game look much better compared to the ones in Chilla's other games, oddly enough.
I think what has made this game type popular, is not only do people love "spot the difference" stuff (obviously observation duty getting popular shows that lol), but then add in the whole "liminal space" aesthetic to the game too (which a lot of clones also seem to be doing as well!) and you just get this "familiar, yet eerie" type of game that's really enticing to play, as well as find all the different types of anomalies that they can give
Chilla's character models seem to be getting massive upgrade
yessss chillas art
Really like watching there games I think for nostalgia reasons I like retro looking games
@@sarahanne__ simply coz they are good in many ways
@@Zkclee yes 🙌🏻
Right?!? Chilla and anomaly games 😍
You know what’s funny? A Japanese vocaloid artist named MARETU posted a song this morning about cooking people and serving them. I believe it’s called BiNoMi or Delicacy.
ooh, I'll have to listen to that. I love MARETU.
I was thinking the same thing lmao
Very Andy & leyley vibes lol
1. Knock on occupied bathroom door on plane.
2. When they say “occupied”, say “not anymore you’re not” and walk away.
3. Act inconspicuous when they come out of the bathroom.
4. Smile evilly, as you know that they know there’s a psycho on the plane and they don’t know who it is.
The food cart around 27:30 “Conductor’s Bullshit” is a reference to The Menu…an AMAZING recently released horror film!
babe wake up new chilla's art game just dropped
That food cart looked delicious tho, they had chili dogs, hero sandwiches, blueberry muffins, and all kinds of drinks, those refreshments would make it very hard to leave.
I mean, I dunno if “undercooked flesh” sounds particularly appetising 😅
Yay! More Chilla's Art playthroughs are always a good thing in my book.
15:00 cocaine grandpa speaks wisdom
Ah nice calm viewing of a spooky game, haven't watched it yet it's only been a minute since it was released apparently but I always look forward to watching these as I'm in my 30s. I haven't a need to listen to other channels which scream and rant, never mind exaggerate the whole viewing. Cheers.
I remember Manly winning big in the FNAF sister game because of that. numerous people did not want to listen to youtuber's exaggerated reactions in the game and ended up on his channel as a result.
So chillas's Exit no. 8..
Anyway seeing the subs while listening to the real dialogue really hurts my head..
I really love the ending for this game, the way we could see the sister and the brother happy in the afterlife together made me tear up a bit ngl
the goofy run of the lady who picked up the can
Chilla's art almost never misses
I saw game by Chilla's art, and I clicked haha. I love Chilla's Art games
Ngl, its the most chill game from Chilla's art
The player probably broke the loop people say ghost go through after they die, so the player basically escorted them to the afterlife and then woke up
great channel honestly glad i found it
oooo new Chilla's Art game let's gooooooo
I love Chilla's Art!! They do great and scary work.
I'm so glad you thought of Endless Eight when she said that. My mind jumped there too.
I didn’t know about this title. Thanks for the video
20:28 "could be something subtle" as he's staring at the subtle anomaly
ngl that kinda annoyed me lol.. he's moving too fast for this kind of game
Manly: "your haircut's an anomaly"
Me irl with the same cut: "hey!"😢
For the record I think the haircut is cool :D
You do you!~
i was just checking his channel for new videos when this released.. i love chilla’s art games because they’re always so interesting to watch and interactive‼️
they have that chill to it that you just can’t look away no matter what happens
Manly’s playing a new Chilla’s art game? Awesome!
I lived in japan and can confirm that the majority of trains are indeed haunted and looping
You single handedly introduced me to chilla's art games and for that I thank you very much
I appreciate that this one had a little bit of a story to it. even if it was very rudimentary and had some inconsistencies.
man ya gotta love chilla’s art
Love you're chanel man so proud of how far it's come
Channel*
Thoroughly enjoyed ur playthrough and commentary … awesome stuff
2x speed on the final credit song is a bop @45:14
nice reference to jjk at the end where the sister mentions to end the loop you have two people run in opposite directions which is what meimei and utahime did.
Hot damn, another Chilla's Art. Always looking forward to seeing another one uploaded by you.
Chilla's games are always a joy to watch
"sit at your reserved seat at number 8"
Manly: whats my reserved seat?
😂 Next time, manly. Next time.
Hey, looks like I perfectly timed this! Seems like a pretty interesting concept at facts value; looking forward to seeing how it plays!
