That’s an interesting change up grip. It seems like it would be easier to control where to locate that pitch with this grip- more so than a circle-grip change up. I threw my curveball with his slider grip…but I’m left handed, so that could be the difference.

@@sikemlopezmartinez7284nah, not really. This isn’t quite a forkball, you’re not looking to split the ball in half with your fingers, you’re just taking your fingers away from the top of the ball so it reduces spin and thus speed
I used to throw a palm ball similar to this when I was younger.
The vulcan grip works best with big hands

Thats like a split finger change up. I bet the bottom just falls out on that thing. Personally, I’m a big fan of the circle change that Maddox used to paint his masterpieces. It never failed me. Lefties really hated it (I’m RHP). I threw a slurve/sweeping curve that I had to aim at the batters head to get it over the plate. A pitcher that can throw nasty breaking balls is just a beautiful sight to behold

It’s called a Vulcan change up
Saw this guy throw in Athens against The Dogs in their final regular season game of ‘23. He throws what some call “easy gas”. The Dogs got to him after, I think, six innings but man the life on his fast ball and that slider was almost unlawful. He and Dylan Crews were worth the price of admission.
That slider grip looks like Trevor Bauer’s slider.
