Yay! Now we're on the fortress stages from my favorite OG Mega Man game. I've had so much hype for this Roahm, like you wouldn't believe. Love that stage music.
Very much agreed, I find this to be the case with the second fortress boss as well (although he's much less of a threat than both others). Thankfully, they start getting more creative by the third fortress stage.
***** Since I knew it was what I wanted to do, I actually just left a blank opening in what I was saying, then dubbed in "NAME REDACTED" during editing.
I think you're fought [NAME REDACTED] as a Navi in the Battle Network series. I won't say any more for fear of any further [REDACTED]. Also, I love the music for Protoman's Fortress, and that remix you used was amazing.
I think the Rounders prevent you from shooting the other enemies which are attacking you especially if the enemy shots can go through the Rounders. But yeah, they are useless since there were no other enemies around.
If you think it's always the birds, I just know you're going to LOVE Mamizou Futatsiuwa's third spellcard in Ten Desires... Third Duel: "Avian Danmaku Transformation"
Hey Roahm another great video. Just a quick question though in the video you said that you were use to using the shoulder buttons when playing Megaman Rock Force, so I am wondering did you use a controller to play it if so what controller and how? I tried to find controller option but I just couldn't. Thanks for any help on that part and looking forward to your next video.
Tasuki Ah, no, I just always mentally equate the weapon switch buttons to L and R. I was using the keyboard and had them set to A and S, right above my jump and shoot keys of Z and X. So I ended up hitting those keys on the emulator here expecting them to reset my weapon and nope.
Ah how i remember ye ol days when you said you'd never do castle stages for being to hard to do a perfect run. Now you've done a third of the castles and are working on the nearing the half way mark.
***** It wasn't that they were too hard, it was that they started requiring use of utilities and weapons, thus going against Perfect Run rules (though later stages did that anyway as I found going through the games), and that I just didn't really like the fortress stages as much as the Robot Master stages, I just didn't really find them as interesting.
Its always the birds, or the one ups those shiny bits of temptation :D although I haven't seen the 1-up curse as of lately, did you get purged of it by a shaman or something?
Hello, thanks for the videos Do you have plans for Rockman & Forte: Challenger from the Future perfect runs? Thanks for your effort and greetings from México :)
Cuerbolillo Thanks for enjoying my work ;) I do not currently have any plans for Challenger from the Future. The game has a lot of inherent slowdown that gets really annoying overall, it makes everything feel a lot more floaty than it should.
I can at least say Megaman 5 definitely has the most threatening enemies, even in a casual run the enemies like Power Masslers or Sumatrans do a lot of damage, or crowd in large numbers like most of the aerial ones.
I'm sorry, but "Suddenly, bird" still has me chuckling. I thought for a second you did that on purpose for fun. Also, [NAME REDACTED] can simply be referred to as Protoboss and still avoid spoilers. Just don't mistake it for Probopass. XD
I Know it's just me, but when you say Sumatrans, i always think about the Sumatran people in Indonesia instead of the tigers (they are called Sumatran Tiger), just a thing that's just kinda popped in my head, since i'm Indonesian
Edo Evandio Yeah, that just is indeed the name of the enemy itself. Haha, when I hear it, it triggers my video game geekdom and I think of the Sa-Matra battle platform from Star Control 2.
so ive watched all the skull castle videos and im wondering what this is that you are playing that just has all the castles from each game? is this a rom you can get somewhere for an emulator?
Nick skillz I'm just playing the fortress stages from each of the main games is all. I went through the Robot Master stages of all the games long ago, and am going back and doing the fortress stages currently.
Gotcha, sweet videos tho man. I'd like to see you do one of these for megaman x, ive been playing it recently on my super nes and im not sure a perfect game is possible
Nick skillz I'm afraid that won't be happening, I just don't really like the X series. They were too much of a departure from the Classic series both in style and control scheme, so I never really enjoyed them too much. I'd prefer to leave it to other gamers that really enjoy the series to do LPs and challenge runs of the games.
Nick skillz A perfect busterduel of most of the X games is possible, and when it comes to X1, X2 and X3, it's possible without dashing. Statement of fact. ...Though weapon use is required sometimes, so the busterduel part isn't absolutely 100% true. But yeah, no damage is possible in all save X6 (and I don't know about X7 or X8, but it's PROBABLY possible in X8). For demonstration purposes, no doubt Hideofbeast would like a word with you.
Roahm I'm not sure if you've ever played the game, but I'm sure if you wanted to you can find a Rom or something. It's called Rockman & Forte: Mirai kara no Chōsensha, it's essentially a sequel to Megaman and Bass. It is nearly never talked about in the Megaman community due to the Wonderswan(The system it was made for) was only popular in Japan, and even then it was still not as popular as the Gameboy Advance. Anyway, the game is really unique and features a lot of cool robot masters with unique fights and such. It's personally one of my favorites in the series and I suggest you check it out. Now for the actual question xD, would you ever try to Perfect Run/Blind Run this game? Even if you don't, I would still check it out. It's very slow paced though due to the pretty terrible console, but it's still one of my favorites and is really unique and features some cool bosses such as Komusoman and ClockMEN.
***** I have actually tried playing that one, and yeah, I kind of ran afoul of the slowdown you mentioned. It makes everything kind of annoyingly floaty as far as timing and physics go, and I didn't really like that.
"Name Redacted"...we technically don't know what this boss is yet. Once we get to Proto Man's Castle 4, we'll know this bosses true name. For now, it's "Name Redacted".
Did you know that either has the first word "ei" which is Norwegian for one. We know that it means one way or another. Hence the word "ei" meaning one. However, neither has the word "nei" which is Norwegian for no. We know that neither means it doesn't work no matter what you do. Hence the word "nei" which equals no of course. I like your Scottish-Texan accent. To be honest, it sounds equivalent to a Norwegian accent.
The NES games never told us the names of any if the fortress bosses. Why is this one so special that it earns a redacted name? Case in point, when I was growing up, everyone called the yellow devil the rock monster
Well this certainly is interesting, but it's sad that the begin of one of the finals stages are so easy i mean i was waiting for a 5 at less of difficulty
Figured you would get a kick out of this, splitsider.com/2014/03/mst3k-gang-will-return-to-television-with-a-rifftrax-show-on-the-national-geographic-channel/ I remember you saying something about MST3K during a video last week. Hopefully, their new show won't be hindered by Hughesnet and all that.
"Anyway, it's boss time. Meet [NAME REDACTED] 1..."
There's a Robot Master working for the SCP Foundation?
It's funny how Dark Man went from a tank to a humanoid type navi in Battle Network.
I think I'll still be laughing at Name Redacted three years from now.
now?
Yep!
[NAME REDACTED] is also the name of an arena in ARMS.
are you still laughing?
Yep!
Yay! Now we're on the fortress stages from my favorite OG Mega Man game. I've had so much hype for this Roahm, like you wouldn't believe. Love that stage music.
[NAME REDACTED] 1 reminds me of ChargeMan in that he always tries to collide with you and it's VERY annoying.
Very much agreed, I find this to be the case with the second fortress boss as well (although he's much less of a threat than both others). Thankfully, they start getting more creative by the third fortress stage.
Indeed, [NAME REDACTED] 1 was annoying that way...
@barryorange: I was saying "NAME REDACTED" since technically we don't know who this is yet and won't until the 4th stage.
Quick question: were you actually saying "name redacted" in the raw footage, or were you saying the boss' real name?
***** Since I knew it was what I wanted to do, I actually just left a blank opening in what I was saying, then dubbed in "NAME REDACTED" during editing.
So THAT'S what you were saying! I thought it was just a nonsense noise. XD Either way, good start so far, good to see you Perfect Running again.
name redacted? all this time i thought glados was saying "numerdactor". yeah, silly.
Though actually, the only way to figure out his name is to look on the MMKB.
Favorite stage music in the game, here and in the rest of this castle. Also:
5:45 Even THAT bird is evil!
I think you're fought [NAME REDACTED] as a Navi in the Battle Network series. I won't say any more for fear of any further [REDACTED].
Also, I love the music for Protoman's Fortress, and that remix you used was amazing.
I'm glad the comments told me what that robotic voice was saying because I couldn't understand it at all.
Good Lord, I've been so eagerly waiting for this since MM5 is my favorite game of the NES series. Thank you so much, Roahm!
I've been waiting for this castle a long time thanks Roahm
So nice to see you going back to the perfect runs, always a sight to be seen.
Great to see you back in action Roahm! I have to agree that the castle itself looks stupid, but the theme music is 8-bit at its best.
Finally, more videos to bite my time off.
This series came out much faster than expected.
I think the Rounders prevent you from shooting the other enemies which are attacking you especially if the enemy shots can go through the Rounders. But yeah, they are useless since there were no other enemies around.
what a nice morning. this video, and coffee in my e-mug.
Jasper Valentine you said it! I second it, even though it would have to be Dew in my e-mug.
If you think it's always the birds, I just know you're going to LOVE Mamizou Futatsiuwa's third spellcard in Ten Desires...
Third Duel: "Avian Danmaku Transformation"
Ironic considering the featured song gave it away :/
Hey Roahm another great video. * Grabs a gourd of sake and starts drinking to watch Roahm do his thing. *
Pokemon name.
Touhou avatar.
Touhou roleplay.
Epicness.
Go home MissingNo.
You're drunk.
I was listening to this on headphones and I was bloody terrified when the [NAME REDACTED] thing came up. XD
Ah how i remember ye ol days when you said you'd never do castle stages for being to hard to do a perfect run. Now you've done a third of the castles and are working on the nearing the half way mark.

3:20 Personal audio clip, or did you get it from somewhere?
I made it myself, just said "Name Redacted" in as flat a voice as I could, then ran various filters over it.
...and here...we...GO! :)
Yaargh! What happened to the rush coil?!
Its always the birds, or the one ups those shiny bits of temptation :D although I haven't seen the 1-up curse as of lately, did you get purged of it by a shaman or something?
Hey we didn't need the assistance of a BIRD !!!
Hello, thanks for the videos
Do you have plans for Rockman & Forte: Challenger from the Future perfect runs?
Thanks for your effort and greetings from México :)
Cuerbolillo Thanks for enjoying my work ;) I do not currently have any plans for Challenger from the Future. The game has a lot of inherent slowdown that gets really annoying overall, it makes everything feel a lot more floaty than it should.
RoahmMythril Thanks for responding :) I will continue waiting for your videos :D greetings
Wait, that said "NAME REDACTED"? I thought it was "MEHMEHMYAHMEH!" when I first heard it!
***** Yes, it was a heavily filtered and modified NAME REDACTED.
Heh. Now you have to worry about the Darkman with the Machine gun arm. Well, after the next run.
3:19 best sound ever
this make 1200! Keep up the good work!
Subs or videos?
Sounded like he said "Neo-Reactor" XD Tried to look up the enemy and failed.
I can at least say Megaman 5 definitely has the most threatening enemies, even in a casual run the enemies like Power Masslers or Sumatrans do a lot of damage, or crowd in large numbers like most of the aerial ones.
I freaking LOVE this song -w-
Hey there, Dark Man 1
I did notice [NAME REDACTED] 1's shots were faster when you hit him versus when he shot on his own.
I'm sorry, but "Suddenly, bird" still has me chuckling. I thought for a second you did that on purpose for fun. Also, [NAME REDACTED] can simply be referred to as Protoboss and still avoid spoilers. Just don't mistake it for Probopass. XD
Suddenly, bird!
Huzzah! New video time!
I know what you mean about the shoulder buttons...I do the exact same thing when going from Mega Man 7+ to the NES games (or Mega Man 9).
BIRDS! In my case it's always the BEES that are the worst. ... Wait a minute, birds, bees ... O.o
I Know it's just me, but when you say Sumatrans, i always think about the Sumatran people in Indonesia instead of the tigers (they are called Sumatran Tiger), just a thing that's just kinda popped in my head, since i'm Indonesian

Fair enough, im a little bumbed though, you do a good LP. I found myself on edge hoping you didn't get hit
Nick skillz A perfect busterduel of most of the X games is possible, and when it comes to X1, X2 and X3, it's possible without dashing.
Statement of fact.
...Though weapon use is required sometimes, so the busterduel part isn't absolutely 100% true.

For demonstration purposes, no doubt Hideofbeast would like a word with you.
Do you say the intro, "Hello, RoahmMythril here...." everytime you start over? Or do you just start at the stage itself?
KaoTicZombieZ I go back to my intro every time.
RoahmMythril That must get annoying on the harder stages XD
Despite how silly the castle looks, I'll agree with you there, I do really like the music. :)
Eric Broffel Yeah, I love the music here, it seriously needs more attention than it gets.
Roahm I'm not sure if you've ever played the game, but I'm sure if you wanted to you can find a Rom or something.
It's called Rockman & Forte: Mirai kara no Chōsensha, it's essentially a sequel to Megaman and Bass. Yeah. :/ I wish some sort of remake was made with better physics, fanmade or not.
***** Yeah, that could be nice. I still kind of wish the fanmade improvement of the PC games had actually happened, but alas, that project fell apart.
Tell me about it x__x
what is the name of that tank
*SPOILERS*
Darkman 1.
Actually, the orb guys can damage you if you're too fast, they do 5 damage.
name redacted?
gotten yourself a job at the foundation?
Why are you beeping out darkman's name?
your liying i know its wliy cause of alot of things in the game and tvshows
+leoalex50 its for no spoilers
What's with the odd boss name?
"Name Redacted"...we technically don't know what this boss is yet. Once we get to Proto Man's Castle 4, we'll know this bosses true name. For now, it's "Name Redacted".
RavenXtreme Like anyone cares about Spoilers... We all know that Roll is plotting evil in MM5 all along
Dekaar
I was trying to say his name but I guess Roahm is preventing me from saying it...it's "Name Redacted". *sigh* darn it!
DarkMan 1.
**GASP!!!**
HE SAID [NAME REDACTED]!!!
SPOILER ALERT!!!
**OBNOXIOUS ALARM SOUND**
Did you know that either has the first word "ei" which is Norwegian for one. We know that it means one way or another. Hence the word "ei" meaning one.

SUDDENLY BIRD

Brian Curry None of the other Fortress bosses were semi-spoilers of what was going on. This one slightly is.
Well this certainly is interesting, but it's sad that the begin of one of the finals stages are so easy i mean i was waiting for a 5 at less of difficulty
pense que lo hacias en speed run.
[Name Redacted]'s name was supposed to be a spoiler? I mean, it's obvious Proto Man is still their boss, even if these robots have a different name.
Something tells me you're going to have a lot of lower scores in the Mega Man 5 Fortress runs!
hey mythril you like mets will then you should totally try hard hat 1 2 and 3
Solomon Steffee Alas, they don't work well on my system. The games come to a sudden halt every time the music has to loop.
your dreams now come to a screeching halt...literally
I dunno, [NAME REDACTED] seems kind of batty to me
Maybe I've just been playing too much EXE
Figured you would get a kick out of this,
splitsider.com/2014/03/mst3k-gang-will-return-to-television-with-a-rifftrax-show-on-the-national-geographic-channel/
I remember you saying something about MST3K during a video last week. Hopefully, their new show won't be hindered by Hughesnet and all that.
Guest featuring GLaDOS-Roahm.

Celal Başaran I was making a further joke for Jack
TOTALLY-NOT-WILY MAN!
