- In 1935, Dr. Philip Carrol (Patrick Kilpatrick) makes a late-night house call to fix the broken leg of a woman named Marie Alcott (Marcia Cross). Marie and her husband Edmund (Harsh Nayyar), who are revealed to be vampires, proceed to make Dr. Carrol their slave. They force him to heal Marie's leg, then plan to kill and feed on him when he is no longer of use to them. Growing attracted to Carrol however, Marie begins to have second thoughts about her husband's plans.
Directed by Theodore Gershuny and written by Edithe Swensen..

Tales from the Darkside is an American anthology horror television series created by George A. Romero. A pilot episode was first broadcast on October 29, 1983. The series was picked up for syndication, and the first season premiered on September 30, 1984. The show would run for a total of four seasons. Each episode is a self-contained story, which often ends with a plot twist. The series spans various genres of speculative fiction, including science fiction and fantasy in addition to horror, and many episodes have darkly comic elements.

Vampire stories have been done so, so much, it's hard to do it right. So many of them just feel generic or underwhelming, like zombie movies.
i think they say that she doesn't heal as well since she does not drink human blood as much?

A close friend of mine that is too into horror anthology series had no idea about this series and how important it is to the genre. Love the episode guys, this is different a watch for me I enjoyed this episode. But I also agree with all the stuff you were saying about the episode.
If I remember the episode right, the lady vampire did not like her husband anymore and she took the first hot guy who could take out her husband, the romance was secondary. She just was being opportunistic.

I was particularly attracted to vampire stories from my teens and into my 20's, so revisiting this in my teens, I was partial to it. And I think most people who liked it, didn't take too much of an issue with the sudden replacement of Edmund. I would wager a guess that most people who liked this episode were either A) Taken by the romantic angle/sexy bondage, or B) Pretty much see vamps as savage anyway-so why wouldn't they replace companions when they tired of them? That's my guess as to the higher rating!

I figured you guys wouldn’t be super into this one. Like Joe said, I agree with what you’re all saying, but I actually loved this one. Probably because there’s that B Movie quality to it, and the actors were as good as they could’ve been. Curious to see what you think of The Unhappy Medium cause I did not like that one. Didn’t pay full attention to it, so maybe I’ll rewatch it.

Not my favorite episode. I'm not sure what they were going for here. Marcia Cross is the best thing about it. My Ghostwriter - The Vampire is better to me.
Good episode, as always guys. This episode, for me, was nothing special at all. The romance was definitely forced, & the villianous vampire husband, was barely an effective villian, who was defeated too easily. This could've been better, if it'd been a feature length film, so there could've been alot more story, & character development, & the romance would've had more time to develop, & be more believable. The next episode, the unhappy medium, is not the best, but definitely better than this one, in my opinion.
