Keith Nelson from Buckcherry is a big gear head. Has lots of vintage guitars and amps. Recording studio too. He would be a good guest.
All the best as always to you and yours Marc and Dave!🇨🇦
As always awesome show I appreciate how informitive it is. Been trying to watch the current eppisode and catch up on the whole back catalog. So many great stories
Thanks for doing these shows guy’s!!! Love this stuff!!
Zakk Wylde JCM800 is what 800 should be.
Many 800s had parts value all over the place, the Zakks where dead on.
Please call James Buck Waller and ask him anything from Rocktron days until now. Love from Greece!
Guest ideas in no particular order….Peter Cornish (still alive?) Mike Fuller +1, Reb Beach, Joel Hoekstra (had he been a past guest?), Joe Bonamassa, guitar techs to the rockstars, Sterling Ball, Bill Nash…
Joe B. is great!!! :)
Also Rafael Moriera, Lance Lopez, and how about Phil McKnight, Ola Englund or some of the other higher profile guitar community hosts on YT, et al.
I use a duellist in front of my Smallbox
Thanks gents I enjoyed that 👌
Absolute classic at the end with beast's superchat, I was legit busting a gut laughing.
Great Show!
The Bedrock Amps were pretty rad. They were an early example of a boutique co. One of the Bedrock guys went on to do Jetter pedals. He would make a cool guest. Also surprised neither of the guys know the Kingsley tube pedals. Seems like Kingsley is featured on like at least half of the TPS episodes lol
Evan Cantor-Bedrock guy is now working with MGL Ampworks
Cheers guy's 🤘
I spy that MosValve again. I recently took mine apart and sprayed the pots and got the scratchiness gone. Wish I was more comfortable to fix my Marshall 9005 stereo tube power amp.
Gibson Custombuckers are awesome. They are that kind of humbuckers, that sounds like I imagine p90ties should sound.
Outside of landing Page or Gilmour, getting LIfeson on the show to talk gear would be the all time win.
Dang, Dave Friedman is a walking book of knowledge with zero sense of egotism. Seems like a very nice guy. Most of what ya’ll are talking about is Greek to me, but it’s educational nonetheless. I just ordered a JJ jr. with matching single 12” speaker cab after lots of research. Really looking forward to blowing out my ear drums!
I have went through countless tube configurations in the preamp section of my 100 deluxe and I will say the phase inverter slot makes a huge difference in the overall tone and feel of the amp and nothing really hits the spot like a Sovtek lps in that position.
How would you say it affects it
@@doc_matter it changes the response the biggest part of it is a feel thing but it also just made everything a little bigger and smoother across the entire frequency range. Not just a low end bump the amp never really needed that but like a full frequency bump. A lot of it is hard to explain really don’t know how to put it into words. A lot of people swear by that tube in the phase inverter though give it a try 1 day you’ll be surprised what different preamp tubes in different positions can do.
@@doc_matter to put it into better words, to me it made all the frequencies a little more even and smoother like nothing jumps out at you too much just nicely leveled everything out
When can we expect some vintage S guitars to get back in the market? I can’t find them anywhere.
Im here .
Unless two pickups have the same magnets and same type of wire, you can't simply compare resistance and state that 18k is "hotter" than 16k.
How different is the clean channel on the Runt from the Buxom Betty?
great, now I'm going to spend the rest of my life wondering what beastfu's question was. Rosebud.
😂😂😂
Dave, so do you repair other manufacturers amps?
So I wasn't having a stroke. You tube was letting me type the question in and it looked to me like it went through but no one could see it. Anyway I sent an email to Dave so here it is in case you were wondering. " What is the difference between a 1974 jmp 50 with the stock low voltage and a higher voltage jmp 50 and using a variac to bring the wall voltage down. Doesn't that do kind of the same thing?"
Dave's response....No because on the one you bring down with the variac drops the heater voltage also .. this is a better tone. There is a magic about dropping heaters
Friedman amps have great master volume controls. With that said, what is better for tone and sustain for home playing. Just using the master volume and gain knob or is there any benefit of cranking up the amp and using an attenuator? Same or different?
Yes we have discussed this. You don’t need an attenuator for Friedman amps. If you do want one get a power station but it won’t really sound any better
Thank for the comment Marc!!!

Maybe Dave Phillips from LASD?
Nope
Did he refuse?
Where are the links for your items you are selling.
below the video
@@tone-talk I'm sorry, I meant the gear that Dave was trying to sell. I saw the cool Tone Talk merchandise. Is it a Reverb store?
What happened to Metropolus amps, looks like he’s gone out of business?
hehheeh
