  • Today we're upgrading the Desert Oasis starter deck on Magic Arena! It's a simic ramp deck with desert payoffs, but it runs in the same problem that every ramp deck has where sometimes you play a bunch of ramp cards with nothing big to cast! Fortunately, we can fix that!

I'm surprised you didn't swap out the Huatli's Final Strike cards for better removal. Green has 1 and 2 mana bite spells that are better.

I love that this deck is getting improved, personally I have found that Spelunking is great at 4 copies in this deck because of the tradeoff of deserts (they enter tapped). Spelunking also combo's great with map the frontier in a turn 3-4 scenario because then you map f becomes a 2 mana spell that nets you 2 extra lands. On another note, the deepfathom echo is a great card I wouldn't recommend cutting, especially if you have the rattleworm in play you can copy so it gains trample and grows each battle. Finally I encountered a player that used doppelgang to copy the oasis and deal crazy amounts of damage at the same time you duplicate your lands; haven't tested it enough but I think it could be solid if the game gets out of hand. Would recommend another Bristly bill but that is personal opinion, because late game you have so much mana and the ability helps your creatures grow. Nice video!

Greenblade was THE mythic uncommon in OTJ drafts. Very first strong first pick and also enabler for most splashes in that format

From the Saddle up deck you get 2 great cards that fit in this deck: Railway Brawler and Gruff Triplets.
Brawler giving 1/1 counters to any creature that enters equal to that creature's power and Triples giving you three 3/3 bodies with trample that grant their power to the copies when they die.
Brawler can be plotted for 4 mana so you can play it and one of the ramp pay off for great value.

With all those lands I bet the Fecund Greenshell would work in this deck as a playoff late game.
