It felt like they drastically switched gears towards the end of the season. As if they were told there wouldn't be a season 4 and they had to start wrapping up stuff quickly.

Sorry I’m late to the party but I haven’t watched TV in a few months. I just watched Sweet magnolias season 3 last week and just finished episode 10 Today. If I were to rate this show I would give it an “i” For incomplete.
To sum it up, season three of Sweet magnolias feels like a bad group project in which everyone has vastly different ideas but instead of going with one good idea, they included them all, there are no complete thoughts and it’s all over the place.
Seasons one and two were great, because there was a natural progression through the show in which they kept the viewers entertained, and there was always some thing from episode one that he would want to find out about in episode two but then something even more interesting, and episode two that you wanted to find out about an episode three until you get to the Season finale that makes you want to watch the next season. If there’s a season four, I don’t want to watch it.
The first thing that I feel like made season three bad was that there were too many drawn out scenes, focusing on secondary characters. Example: we didn’t need to see a whole scene of Genevieve being interviewed, we also didn’t need to see Genevieve and Eric go on dates. Another example, why was Kathy in season 3? There was 50 million storylines going on at once, she was entirely unnecessary. Another example, why was Peggy’s lawyer friend on the show, she literally introduced him and then in the season finale he was on the screen for about 30 seconds before he took a phone call in disappeared.
Bill and Kathy showing up at Dana Sue‘s wedding didn’t even make sense. Kathy showing up by herself would’ve made sense because she would be apologizing for being terrible to Dana Sue and Ronnie, but Bill has spent all season going on and apologizing spree and when I asked to run away with Kathy, he said no because I need to be better and I need to be present. So then he leaves town with Kathy after he told her not to run away from her problems. .😵‍💫😂🤷🏽‍♀️🚩
I love, love but season three felt like that MTV dating show. Are you the one where everyone was supposed to find their love match 😂 everybody on the show does not need a romantic partner. I feel like the plot would have been more interesting if everybody wasn’t searching for their other half.
I feel like the most interesting and dramatic storyline from season three was Trent resigning as mayor and funds missing from the town. That should’ve been at least half the focus of season three. Instead the writers just tried to find a love match for all the characters and then threw a big wedding for Dana Sue, then the credits roll the end. 😵‍💫😳
I also think it was very weird how they spent several episodes talking about fixing up a playground , made an entire commercial to advertise to the town to help Pitch in for the playground, showed a scene of Bill going to this playground alone looking at what his children are trying to do & making it seem like Bill is about to do some grand gesture, and donate to the playground or fix the playground up himself, and then say the end the playground was never fixed, and I will never brought it up 🤷🏽‍♀️
Typically in a season finale, all or most of the things that you’ve been questioning are answered and what is not answered, would be answered in the following season and there’s usually some sort of bombshell at the end that makes you want to watch season four. None of season 3 made sense made to me, poorly written. 10 hours of my life I’ll never get back. I would not watch season four if there is one because at this point I don’t feel like they would address the things that happened in season three and there would be an even bigger disconnect from not finishing previous story lines, and just throwing a new story lines and 30 new characters. 😵‍💫
