I know it's 4 months later, but I can't help seeing those 3D prints and just about crying, knowing that printer can do so much better with a little tweaking! Still, thanks for sharing the journey. This stuff is right up my alley!
Amazing video! This is just like how I started my home cockpit build. Experiment with smaller stuff and then move on to the bigger stuff. Can’t wait for the next update!
Please continue this series! I really enjoyed the video, although I was very confused when you started doing a lot of work for an aircraft with different cockpit hahaha
It's all about the little goals!!!! I'm about to start my own A320 home cockpit, so I look forward to seeing more of your videos, and maybe we can share some ideas!!
Tof!! Ik ben ook begonnen, heb nu een normale 3d printer en een resin printer. Eerste resultaten wat betreft knoppen printen met een resin printer zijn echt geweldig!
Heel gaaf! 3d printen is super handig en accuraat, echt top! Ik ben momenteel niet heel druk bezig met de cockpit, dus ik zit nog steeds te twijfelen tussen 737 en 320, omdat er over de 737 echt heel erg veel meer te vinden is inderdaad
I have a question, What program do you use to design all those panels/cockpit and what is a good way that I can learn how to design panels like these too.
I use fusion 360 (free), here a link to their site: www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/overview?term=1-YEAR&tab=subscription Really fun tool, you gotta learn it but once you get it you can design anything!
Hi I have a question, where did you get all the measurements from? I have been trying to get measurements for an A320 cockpit for the past 2 weeks and I would appreciate it a lot if you could help out. Amazing video nonetheless. Cheers!
As you are mentioning using the Fenix A320 you might want to think about how you plan to connect your hardware (especially the custom parts) to the sim. I believe there are lots of controls Fenix doesn't give you access to. Not sure about the Fly by Wire A320 as I am still using P3D with my home cockpit, so that might be a better option (assuming you want to stay with MSFS 2020). Good luck with the project!
Thank you! :) I checked this, and the Fenix 320 does not give access to all controls. I don't think the FBW gives access to all controls in Mobiflight, which I just checked. I'm still considering staying with the PMDG 737, though it's much more complicated...
@@model.aviation Another aspect you might want to look into is how easy, or not, it is to display the various screens you would want in the cockpit (PFD, ND, MCDU, ECAM, etc ), especially if you want to run those off another computer. Please know that I am not trying to rain on your parade, just sharing some personal experience.
I love it that you think along! Any help is highly appreciated as I have zero experience myself. I have been looking into running the screens off USB, which should be possible, though I'm not sure whether the sim will be running anywhere near smooth if everything is connected
@@model.aviation Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I'd be happy to share my experience. Good luck with the project! Take it one step at a time. www.flightpathsimulation.club/contact-us/
Hey, I also want to have a home simulator setup and I would like to know where you got the files and dimensions for the cockpit of the A320 and other models.
@@model.aviationhoi, ik ben ook best geïnteresseerd in een thuiscockpit maken en de bestanden die u heb gebruikt zouden voor mij ook heel handig zijn. Ik kijk uit naar de volgende video!
@@model.aviation It shouldn’t be too challenging. I can actually get a lot of information and measurements from the corporate manuals I have access too. I really though beed to learn about proper wiring and electrical technics before I start though.
@@CitrusAviation That's lovely! Wiring isn't too difficult, but I'm not sure whether there are many programs that support the ERJ-145XR so you can link the switches to the simulator...
I'm not real familiar with 3d printing but some of those prints look pretty rough to me. I've seen other people make things in the past on UA-cam and the prints jist required some light sanding to get smooth. Is this due to the 3d printer quality? Serious question, I really don't know and would like to learn more about 3d printing. Good luck on your journey, I subbed to your channel.
Hi, I love to hear that. The print quality is mostly dependent on how you level your printer bed, and my bed isn’t level 100% perfect, so the print quality isn’t optimal therefore. I have printed high quality prints in the past thanks to the bed levelled perfectly, but levelling each and every time I get tired of 😂
@@model.aviation you might want to mess around with the temps as well i see some curling on the edges of your prints. most of them i feel wont matter because its hidden inside some frame but still
Do you still need the correct dimensions?? I have a lot of it in these photos of a modern A320 (they are not mine ): drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ERtjP3BZC9VYvbraAhE_59patCefyHpr I am also making my own A320neo FCU, if you want, I can share with you some files and models that i made :)

Hi! You mentioned in your video you started with the basics (the light box), can you recommend a video or search term so I can start at that phase?
Button box arduino - it gives you some great recommendations
Can i build a 787/777 simulator (maybe only captain side) for under $12k?
Probably.
Idk what currency your talking but I feel it’s doable for even less then 8k
@HatlessCookie25 usd
@samarthraman6287 I think that’s very doable in usd

Anywhere you can get materials for the A380 or A350? It’s my dream to have a home simulator of one of these planes.
I’d say the best way is to create them yourself… Making a sim isn’t a short them process :/
How did you get the labels on the Button Box for Master caution, IRS, and so on

You can pop out the panels in MSFS and drag the panel to another monitor
