There's a reason why most of the greatest inventors in history, spent at least some of their lives on a farm. There are few other ways to make a living, that require a bit of knowledge and skill in so many various applications. Add to that the average farm isolated many miles from expensive support services and parts depots, is the needed formula to adapt, improvise and overcome.
Hey Tyler.... When you drop the pin down in there to tow something with.... You should always have something that helps retain that pin down in there . They can work themselves up and out of there... I know it doesn't seem possible.... But a friend of mine hooked the baler up. It has a 700 lb hitch load.,. He had just checked the PIN.. then he stopped and he was doing something back there and that hitch fell off the tractor and landed on his foot.... And there was three guys including him and tried to lift it off his foot and they could not.... It took a long time and they dug out from around it.... Using a tire iron They were out in a field somewhere.... And they started pulling on his leg.... Dislocated his toes... Had to have pins drilled in to a realign all the toes and connect them back up.... This guy is one of the smartest people I've ever known and he still had an accident. You seem safety conscious. Still another thing.... If you have too much hitch load on that style tractor it can cause the tractor to do a wheel stand and pivot all the way around 180° and crush the operator many farmers have been killed from tractors that did wheel stands and went all the way over and broke the hitch off. Farmer was not quick enough with the clutch... Accidents are very puzzling sometimes because they happen so quickly there's nothing you can do about it cuz you're right in the middle of it. The thing to do is take precautions... Think ahead ...think it through... Learn from o.p.e.(other people's experience)
Love checking things off my list too. Was holding my breath as you drove thru corral with feed wagon. Thought you were going to get stuck. Have a great day.
Wow Tyler, Red's gettin big, very muscular. Some good lookin hogs for sure. Really enjoy your video's. You're a very busy farmer, not much rest time. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I hope you & your family have a very blessed Christmas & a Happy New Year. Please take care, be safe & God bless 🙏❤️ 🙌 ❤️🙏
It was in the 50s today but the people up north like the freezing temperatures so much they wanted to share it with us so tonight we will be blessed by their generosity. BRR!!
Have a Merry Christmas...Put the pig feeder next to the fence so you can fill it there...one side will be against the fence but that wont matter to the pigs.
You sure have gotten a lot of rain! Would have been fun watching you do a few wheelies in the mud, but probably not advisable! 😊😊 I really appreciate you being able to make what you need, everything is so expensive and I commend you for that always! Great vid FT!😊😊
Nice work Farmer T. Appreciate the share & update. Keep it coming, keep it safe, stay strong, discerning & successful. Prayers and blessings to you and family ☝ 🙏 🙌 in Jesus's Name 🎯💯%
You’re very clever machining parts for implements the way you do. As I recall when growing up, my Dad did the same. Not sure where he learned it - but it was handy way back in the day when there was no such thing as express delivery. Just a small point (of course I could remember wrong) - cows don’t have upper teeth. Horses bite at their food with top and bottom teeth, but cows use their tongues to wrap and grab/pull (or scoop) at their food - grasses and grains. So cattle wouldn’t be very successful at biting the salt block. Your videos are always a joy to watch - they bring back a lot of memories for me. Thanks!
I really enjoy your transparency and hard work. My only suggestion would be to somehow get your unused equipment inside so it won’t rust. This will give you more years of use and reduce all the rust issues that you have.
A man with your fabrication skills should design a grain conveyor to fill the pig feeder. Hey you make everything else. Just do it. Thanks for another excellent farming video. Merry Christmas 🎄
Buenos dias de Costa Rica! Am an expat, born in SF and escaped Sonoma County to paradise. Enjoy your welding improvisation in fixing and creating things on your ranch. Look forward to all your videos! You're sloshing around in mud as we are starting our dry season! Pura vida!
It’s definitely rainy season there right now. We’re expecting snow for the next couple of days. Doesn’t mean we’ll get it, but it’s in the forecast. Have a wonderful day.
When we had pigs (we had about 40), we (meaning me) first shoveled cracked corn into a large feeder from the bed of a pickup. Later we set up a small auger that we fed from a loader bucket, to fill the feeder up. Perhaps you can use that idea in the future to make filling up your feeder?
A "New Holland" brat sitting here laughing at you - my grandfather and dad are probably rolling in their graves- I won't tell my brother ( in Engineering group) 😂😂😂😂
Merry Christmas Farmer Tyler & family. From one farm family to another. God's blessings in the New Year!
Thank you so much!
Thanks Tyler, for making these videos for us.
Oh my gosh. I am very impressed you got that feed wagon out of that paddock. There was a whole lotta spinnin' going on.
You ain’t kidding lol very cool shots. Wonder if he got his camera covered in mud lol

I really appreciate your channel. There's not a lot of un-needed talking. You say only what needs to be said.

It's a cautionary tale. There is a lot that just doesn't make it into the video. FTR works smart n safe - he's a husband and father, first.
Gosh that’s terrible. Glad it worked out
You never disappoint with your videos, thanks !!!
Thanks for that one, Tyler. All the best to you and your family. ❤️😊
Plenty to do on the ranch even in winter. Always good to get ahead of a project when you can. Thanks for sharing.
Hard to tell it's winter there where he's at.
Good job! Love your skill and knowledge to improvise ❤
ALWAYS something to do here on Farmer Tyler Ranch. You are so talented!
Love checking things off my list too.

Thanks FT. Great video. A little bit of everything.
Tyler always takes someones junk/a discarded implement and creates gold!
Most Ranchers do. Still nice to see his ideas.
Merriest Christmas to you & yours this season. Can't wait to get my FTR green sweatshirt delivered!
Thank you for the video Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

thx
I believe I see an old dodge flat bed in the back ground.
Does it have sentimental value,do you think it would drive to oklahoma?
It’s actually another winter project!
Good update FTR!
Tractor can really pull through the deep mud.
Wow the size of those pigs!
You are awesome with tools.😂❤
I don’t always say ThNK you, but I’m thinking boys cold. Thanks for all you do
You are welcome! I am glad you are enjoying the videos.
Boy that's alot of mud! LOL
Happy Holidays to your Family. 🎀
Hello from Idaho 😊
Good morning from Washington state.
We use loose salt and really like it but we only get 9 inches of rain a year!
Wow, that is very deep mud.
that 260 is a rare rake probably worth 3 times what a normal rake is because its right hand delivery
also they make a dolly to hook both rakes up together and they rake like a v rake
Joes Machine in PA sells aftermarket NH parts for rakes.
80 dollars for a bolt is crazy😮
They took you off my You Tube,l found you, your not getting away, old grandma is back
HI good morning Tyler from Indiana
I wonder if a couple cattle mats under that feeder…. I Know a guy😂
Does the railroad run through your property or outside of it??
Is the Jubilee still in the plans or did I miss it it?
i thought i was the only one who used a chain when the pin doesn't work! ⛓️
Hi Tyler it’s me again
Normally, cow manure doesn't smell too bad but I bet it was ripe out there all wet like that. At least you didn't lose a boot.
I remember those super sloppy days with so much mud to deal with daily. Yuck
There goes your factory warranty on your rakes.😂🤣
Need to wash everything off lol
💖💖💖💖💖
Sometimes you just need to use a persuader (big hammer and foot). 😂
Loose salt is better. It takes a Calendar average of eight hours of licking that block to get enough salt per day.
What ever happened to it never rains in California, man that looks like a bayou swamp.
When it rains it pours!
Book please
Tyler, you're gonna have to take some immune boosters to stop you from getting colds. How's buddy?
There you are .... the one thing I utterly detested about farm life is that mud and muck !!!!! Theres a reason we lived in gumboots.
Did not hear you clearly; what other kind of salt block?
BULLPEN GATE
👍👍❤🐂🎄
❤❤VIDEO ❤❤
🎉🎉🤎🙌
A "New Holland" brat sitting here laughing at you - my grandfather and dad are probably rolling in their graves- I won't tell my brother ( in Engineering group) 😂😂😂😂
Haha!
More then one block of salt please 😮
Gushy
Tyler you are making me sad, WHERE IS CALLIE? We haven't seen her in the last 3 videos.
You’re not looking hard enough! She’s in this video in the beginning
@farmertylerranch4399 oh thank you! Merry Christmas

@@shirleycruz6035 thank you.
I have a New Holland 256 and a New Holland 56 Rake. two of the hardest working implements on this farm in summer and super easy to work on
