I don't care how stupid the Ghost Rider and X-Men team up is (Brood trouble in the Big Easy), I love would to see Comic Pop do a Back Issue video just for the sheer humour. I really enjoy the Back Issue videos and the guys are hysterical😄
My favorite version of Gambit was from X-Men Evolution, they were able to modernize him, yet still keep the larger than life aspect about him, and prominently displayed his intelligence, and they dealt with his villain aspect really well, he didn't have an accent which was fine because they found a voice actor who had a voice like Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho and he did an amazing job with the character, and the costume looked dope as shit.
Ben always recommends Aquaman Rebirth on Off The Rack and says he reads it, can Ben lead a back issues of Aquaman Rebirth Vol. 1 The Drowning as something different?
Ben Jordan while I'd love to see Ben doing that, I think half the fun of back issues is listening to Sal talk about a bunch of the character's history as well as the behind the scenes type history and I'm not sure Ben would put in the time to do that kind of research. Still would be super cool though.
I might be speaking out of turn, but it's not something that he is interested in doing. Especially, since he doesn't have much in the way of knowledge on the history of most characters but, I am sure he appreciates your interest!
Power inhibitors are a well established thing in the x-men. if gambit was really trying to hit that hed have power inhibitors in his nightstand drawer.
Depending on where you are in the timeline (or if the writer even remembers) when Rouge's powers are surpressed or gone she usually ends up fighting with the memories or psyches that she's stolen. Usually it was Carol Danvers, but Belladonna has fought her too. This gets touched on in and around Xtreme X-Men when she starts manifesting every power and memory she's ever absorbed. That's why they avoid her using an inhibitor collar.
I love it when Ethan is on the show.😂 man this channel just gets better and better every time, keep up the good work. stay real & original. #TeamComicPop!👊✊
You know who else doesn't get as much love attention as he should Shazam/captain marvel. I would love to see in a future video if you were able to do one on of his stories.
OMG!! This was a reallt fckd up way to go back to my teens x'D Really loved the comments on how sassy Rogue was and how she and Remmy could/should have done it x'D x'D x'D
Watching the show as a kid & a Canadian despite them mentioning where Gambit was from I always assumed he was a Quebecer. That's what happens when the whole voice cast is Canadian.
Great video with an amazing character and has to be my second favorite X-Men!!! U guys gotta do a video on Nightcrawler now, he's my favorite X-Men and I love for him to get more love in the spotlight.
This was amazing...thanks for covering this story. I too read this when it came out. There's another way to currently get this book. It came out in trade as Gambit and Rogue. That trade covers this Gambit mini series and the Rogue mini series from the early 90's.
Bro he was more popular than wolverine before xmen 1 movie came out. If you actually look into the fanbase you will know. He’s still very popular now too.
I think there's a ton of potential with Gambit having his own stories I sad Channing Tatum didn't get to make his Gambit movie I would've loved to have seen that movie man everything I've heard about it sounds fun and interesting and so different from other x-men movies and other superhero movies
Love the channel, you guys are so much fun. By the way, you should totally do a Back Issues episode about Batman: The Doom That Came To Gotham! Cheers!
Gambit and Rouge have "been together" a few times. One time it put Remy in a coma. They have one or two times that they find themselves with no powers, like control collars or the savage land ect.
Hey I'm a huge fan of the channel and I was just wondering if sal has ever read inhumans by Paul Jenkins. I just finished reading it and I really liked it. I know sal hates the inhumans but it's a pretty good read and that's from someone who has never read an inhumans story. (I'd also like to know what the rest of the comic population thinks of the story.)
Thanks for posting this, I have always been curious about this series. I was a big Wolverine and GAMBIT fan when I was a child. Saw this series as an adult, but passed on it. It hit that nostalgia button, but it looked awful.
Some might be here for the comic, the x-men, not me... I'm here for the classic quotes from the ex-men videos!!!! "I can trow like a greeting card, maybay!?!"
I'm hoping you guys do Dark Knight 3: Master Race or Contagion. Dark Knight for how insane and pointless this series and Contagion because I heard good things about it and I really want to see you guys tackle more 90's Batman stories by Chuck Dixon or others because I think Dixon is a underrated Batman writer. Also for X-Men, Love to see guys do Fatal Attentions because it's the only X-Men event story that matter in the 90's.
"Please do a back issues on that brood trouble in the big easy series"
Fabianovich obligatory like
Fabianovich yes!!!!!
Literally just because they said that.
is it too late to second this?
I’d watch it and like it!
Sal's attempt at a Cajun accent at the beginning tells you this will be a hilarious episode.
I kinda both hate and love that his Cajun accent is just the dudes who was throwing cows in Monty Python
Generally Sal is pretty good with accents but his Cajun sounds like an Irish Jamaican! 😂
"if Romeo and Juliet was written by an idiot", love it, they should put that on the cover

The only downside is the hair.
Finally a Gambit Back Issue. The Ragin' Cajun finally gets the spot light. 😁
Ben always recommends Aquaman Rebirth on Off The Rack and says he reads it, can Ben lead a back issues of Aquaman Rebirth Vol. 1 The Drowning as something different?
That would cool.

Ben Jordan yes please like this comment for Ben hosting back issues
I might be speaking out of turn, but it's not something that he is interested in doing. Especially, since he doesn't have much in the way of knowledge on the history of most characters but, I am sure he appreciates your interest!
TheRealZubes Oh ok
A back issues about 90s gambit should be hilarious and awesome
Power inhibitors are a well established thing in the x-men. if gambit was really trying to hit that hed have power inhibitors in his nightstand drawer.
gimmeurblood thank you that's all I was thinking about.

Naw. Rogue should have tried getting one. Besides, they probably don’t need that…. But still. Writers be like that
I love it when Ethan is on the show.😂 man this channel just gets better and better every time, keep up the good work. stay real & original.
#TeamComicPop!👊✊
Please do a back issues on that x-men/ghostrider crossover pweassseeee
Okay now I just need back issue to do an episode of Nightwing and Spider-man 2099
That be cool a well
Redem10 definitely nightwing though
Redem10 Both series are my favorite! Espically Spider-Man 2099. 2099 was way before Batman Beyond. 😂
How about the Nightcrawler miniseries where he realizes he's fucking his sister.
Erik Mussoni that's pretty messed up
You can drain my energy anytime, chere. Gambit has plenty!
Thank you.
Please do brood trouble in the big easy
Please do that story.
"Go away, I'm doing chemistry!"
"I am too!!!"
Life don't get much betta dan dis!
"gotta get that new orleans audience to buy our books!!"
I am sure I am not the only one who reads the X-Men's voices as in X-Men T.A.S right? 😂
Thank you for doing this one, Im a Gambit lover from New Orleans and I'm half French Cajun. Great show as always.
All i need is Futures end for back issues because that would be amazing
Sal that was a phenomenal gambit impression
Gambit was awesome!
Not many characters are as cool as Remy
Hey, this wasn't pointless, we found out that Rouge and Gambit just need to go on vacation to the savage land on the weekends
Couldn't Rogue just use one of those anti-mutant inhibitor collars, love you guys btw
Sleepy Leo No, now you're just being ridiculous, logic has no place in the discussion!
Off with you, use your precious logic elsewhere!
Haha fair enough, back to the toilet cubicle with my lunch
the conversation about ways gambit and rogue could fuck is hilarious.
The most radical, hipest, and, relavent character ever!!!!
This was awesome Gambit is cool AF
Last back issues I'll see for three months! Fantastic episode and looking forward to a backlog of episodes to binge when I get back.
Gotta appreciate how in sync both Sal and Ben were.
The "mostly dead" move was possibly the cutest thing y'all have ever done.
That X-Men/Ghost Rider crossover, haha. I read them when they were first published, and that team up was so out of nowhere to me as a kid.
@41:20 THANK YOU, BEN! That's what I always say. the Rogue problem isn't one that can't be solved with enough latex.
Loving all these references from the pete holmes show
Do brood trouble in the big easy!
You know who else doesn't get as much love attention as he should Shazam/captain marvel. I would love to see in a future video if you were able to do one on of his stories.
X-Men #9 was the 1st comic book I ever bought, tracked down the rest of the Ghost Rider X-Men crossover and have been hooked ever since.
One cup of coffee-$2.59
Sal's Cajun accent- PRICELESS!!💳😂
OMG!! This was a reallt fckd up way to go back to my teens x'D Really loved the comments on how sassy Rogue was and how she and Remmy could/should have done it x'D x'D x'D
Please do that one story!!!!!!!!!!!!
Such a wild world that this amazing series, which I love, covered solo series for JUBILEE and GAMBIT before Frank Miller's Wolverine mini-series.
Watching the show as a kid & a Canadian despite them mentioning where Gambit was from I always assumed he was a Quebecer. That's what happens when the whole voice cast is Canadian.
It works because Cajun English is heavily based on French just slightly more drunk.
But Cajun English also has more of a southern twang
That it does but I have a hard time noticing that because I do too.
But that Wolverine voice was PERFECT!
Something underrated about Ben: dude knows his Shakespeare.
_"You're not choosing fast enough- Choose one oop too late!"_
😂🤣😂🤣
When you mentioned X-Men #8, Claremont was gone by then. He left after #3, it was just Jim Lee who wrote it until #11.
Uh no? He left after the mojo world issue.
Saw the title.... liked the video. That simple. Love me some Gambit.#LeBeauIsBae
PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE make a "Brood are just space crawfish" Tshirt. I will pay allll the moneys.
Man, it's like I'm 12 again. Thanks Comic Pop!
Great video with an amazing character and has to be my second favorite X-Men!!! U guys gotta do a video on Nightcrawler now, he's my favorite X-Men and I love for him to get more love in the spotlight.
Haha fuckin' Ethan! @comicpop is that a thing? You've brought up "banging it out" on a few episodes lol. It never stops being funny. #justbangitout
This is when the fun begins.
I can't be the only one that thinks Ghost ridder and X-men would be a great back issues?
This was amazing...thanks for covering this story. I too read this when it came out. There's another way to currently get this book. It came out in trade as Gambit and Rogue. That trade covers this Gambit mini series and the Rogue mini series from the early 90's.
Hey! Nice meeting you guys tonight, (Comic Fortress in Somerville)
+Sean Cadieu You too, Sean! Thanks for saying hi!
Perfect start to a morning!
Man am I the only one who loves gambit?.....yes? Ok
Adam&jenn Gonzalez You are not the only one. There are some others out there and I am def one.
Bro he was more popular than wolverine before xmen 1 movie came out. If you actually look into the fanbase you will know. He’s still very popular now too.
90's-tacular goodness!
Are you gonna do a back issues on secret empire
While not as good as your Alan Moore or Grant Morrison, your Cajun accent made my week Sal!
2:31 That production value tho~
Hey hey 4 year mark!
Funny to see that Sal set up the X-Men Brood Story 6 years ago and they finally covered it this year!
OMG, I remember this limited series. It was SO dumb. The only saving grace was Weeks' art, with Janson's ink.
The way you pronounce Tante, LOL. This episode is entertaining to Cajuns.
Back issues at work? Don’t mind if I do! I do it a lot honestly, usually when installing hitches or trailer wiring
Cheers!
Can you do a back issues on X Men Phoenix Endsong?
Remy: Wha la ! Brood gumbo!
Jubilee : Hmm ....yeeahh.... I'm not eating that....sick bastard ..yuk!!
Hey guys love the channel. You should do that stoy and every other one too
Great ep guys
The ragin cajun
I think Gambit was on a mission at a cold place (without a coat), and swore to himself that he would steal an stylish coat when he got back.
Gambit and Rouge have "been together" a few times. One time it put Remy in a coma. They have one or two times that they find themselves with no powers, like control collars or the savage land ect.
You guys had me at mostly dead.Great episode
Hey I'm a huge fan of the channel and I was just wondering if sal has ever read inhumans by Paul Jenkins. I just finished reading it and I really liked it. +Josh Mcnutt We own it! Haven't covered it yet though.
So many Pete Holmes references in this episode lol
I can say with certainty that everyone at ComicPop loves what Pete Holmes does and in particular the Gambit sketch!
YAY BACK ISSUES
Thanks for posting this, I have always been curious about this series. I was a big Wolverine and GAMBIT fan when I was a child. Saw this series as an adult, but passed on it. It hit that nostalgia button, but it looked awful.
please do Daredevil Born Again
... So Mr. Immortal from GLA is an External (by technicality?)
you guys should do Spirits of Venom. cool Ghost Rider/Spider-man story
Do trouble in the big easy story
Some might be here for the comic, the x-men, not me... I'm here for the classic quotes from the ex-men videos!!!! "I can trow like a greeting card, maybay!?!"
YES
Cajun spice
As soon as you said "She's fucking Gideon" all I could think about was Gideon Graves from Scott Pilgrim.
LouisianaSal is so funny lol
Sal-verses confirmed
the crappier the comic, the better the episode! love it :)
Sal's Cajun accent sounds more Canadian than anything else loool
Canadien. The francophone accent is very "distinct" in Quebec.
Man, anyone who hasn't seen the Pete Holmes Ex-Men sketch would be totally lost watching this video.
Ive got a crazy request for an episode of Back Issues: Read Alan Moore's pitch for Twilight of the Superheroes.
IDK, y'all might not be too fond of it, but to me this story sound pretty dope.
I hope you guys continue JLA on your next DC episode
A thieves guild and an assassins guild. Are we sure this isn’t Elder Scrolls?
MORE ULTIMATE SPIDERMAN PLEASE!
Wait a second i think i have seen this back issues before. I'm having a deja vu
Tante Mattie is Gambit's grandmother type figure she's also a root worker
