Linsanity was such a fun sports moment. Each game I thought it would end he got even hotter. When he had 38 on Kobe, I never expected his run would end, and so soon.

The lesson everyone should learn about Lin's story is to always stay ready. I heard him on a podcast tell the story and he said before the Knicks training camp he worked out harder than he ever had during the lockout. Then he said that he knew he was getting waived the following week because his agent said it was probably going to happen. But he said to himself that if he had the chance, he would show the Knicks what he could do. Most people would've gotten disgruntled and discouraged. He stayed ready and his chance came. Gotta love that.

I have to say Stunt #3 have to be missed opportunity with The Brooklyn Nets. Lin had a good run with the Charlotte Hornets when he played with Kemba Walker to help get the Hornets back into the playoffs. Lin was a candidate for the Sixth man of the year that year too Linsanity was buzzing again which lead to the Nets signing him in that off-season. Fans were expecting Lin & Lopez combo to make some noise. Lin's 1st game with the Nets was successful and it looked like he was ready for a leadership role on the team but injuries happened and it stunted him for good.

The ultimate stunt you missed was D Wade & Bron. On an NBA Sunday Showcase vs Miami, they picked him up full court, took away his right hand by making him go left every time & ended Linsanity on national TV. Reminiscent of Mike-Pip-Kukoc in the ‘92 Olympics.

D'Antoni's system was a star-maker for point guards. When he put the ball in their hands, it took them to another level. Ordinary bench role players could look like solid starters. Solid starters could blossom into stars, like Lin did. And All-Stars like Nash and Harden could look like MVPs.
Lin had the on-ball skillset to play like a borderline All-Star even in other systems, however, he needed the ball in his hands. He was a good rhythm shooter who could get hot and stay that way from all over the court. He was also a very skilled passer, knowing the right times to pass or shoot. On defense he had just enough length, quickness, and anticipation to be adequate one-on-one, while tearing up the passing lanes. While the injury may have slowed him slightly, which is often all it takes to go from star to out of the league, his biggest stunt was playing next to ball dominant players the rest of his career. Carmelo, Harden, and Kobe just weren't going to share the ball, and he didn't have the off-ball skillset needed to flourish next to those guys.

Every now and then you see stories like Jeremy Lin emerge in the NBA. Flip Murray did almost the same thing back in the 03-04 season, coming out of nowhere to put up numbers until the league figured him out. And recently it was the Nets' Cam Thomas running up three straight games of 40-plus points after Kyrie was shipped out. Lin's problem was that he was a point guard who simply could not handle on-ball pressure, resulting in big turnover numbers, even during the Linsanity run.

I’ll never quite forgive melo for what he did to Lin bruh. His ball hogging & unwillingness to play how D’antoni wanted him to when he came back hurt them down that stretch

Naw nigga. Every other time wen the lakers do anything its Kobe's team. And that's how Kobe acted too. Any other time he'd tell that whoever to switch. Cuz he gone lock whoever up. Why didn't he do it that game. I fw kobe tough. But he gota take that L. Thats like saying Jalen rose didn't guard Kobe for that whole 81. Bur that's wat everybody says

Ball (tape) don’t lie - Lin just wasn’t that good outside of those two magical weeks. Not a halfcourt player by any means, but was fast and shifty and could put you on a lawn slide if you let him go downhill. Until they game planned for him, teams just let him play his game, including wide-open jumpers and threes, and he made them pay. The knee hurt him once he started getting scouted but it was just a matter of time before he got shut down. Salute to his efforts, tho; a great guy who got Paid and more love from a tough city than he could have ever dreamed of. SALUTE!!

  • @jtbucketsshorts2213

I really think people just figured out how to guard him . He was such an unknown player, teams didn’t really know how to gameplan him. But once they got more physical on him it showed
