What I remember about Greivis in college was how fiery and competitive he was. He played with kind of a swagger where you knew he felt he was the best player in the country. I didn’t realize he was done in the NBA by 30, but what he accomplished in college will never be forgotten
I remember watching him play at Maryland and the NBA, I'm surprised he lasted seven years in the NBA, which is impressive. I didn't even know he played high school basketball with Kevin Durant. Crazy how time flies!!
University of Maryland, my alma mater. I got there during his final year under Coach Gary Williams. Grievis is a legend in those parts. This is one I can appreciate🔥🔥🔥
Bro used to be nice something about those Maryland guards never could quite find their way in the league Franchise, Juan Dixon,Steve Blake etc. happy I can say I saw them hoop in real time. Salute to them great content brother🤝🏾
He was somewhat a crafty playmaker in stretches when I saw him in Toronto. He was such a in-between talent that never showed any consistency outside of midrange nor could defend that well .
This was my GUY! Watched him play multiple times at Monteose Christian while in HS, and multiple times at Maryland. One of my favorite players to ever watch At Maryland. Speaking of Maryland do a stunted growth on former Maryland Terp and lottery pick Walt “The Wizard” Williams. Appreciate all the consistent hard work and effort you put into these videos.
I can’t believe he was only 30 when he left the game. Bro was so fierce and fiery as a competitor I loved his game at UMD growing up here my whole life
I think he maxed his potential. 7 years without high level physical attributes, coming in when these ultra athletes at the guard position started coming into the L. Low rated out of HS. 4 year college player. His heart, work ethic got him those 7 years..much respect to him
Do Ramon sessions he was in the nba for about 10 years as a back up but was standout player for the university of Nevada playing with nick fazecus and was excellent in high school coming from Myrtle Beach South Carolina against Raymond felton
Another great job jc, for guys like this they just love the game so much they do anything to stay in it. He'll make a grate coach. He has skills to teach and knowledge to give to young players so they can be better off.
maryland games were so fun with him and eric hayes......Garyland then we would hit knox road .....cornerstone's or bentley's or thirsty turtle.....College Park were the days ......Gooooo Maryland =)
Great video. After watching this video, it makes me wonder how the nba have some many requirements. Even ones that are not even specified on paper. I know entertainment is important, but winning mentally is and should be important. Also I think he had came in the 90s he would have a long and more appreciated career. Those quotes won guys like magic and jordan multiple rings. That's having a winning mentality.
I Never heard of this guy until today so yeah not surprised Ps do Avery Bradley one of the best defensive players also his high school mixtape is still one of the best ever he definitely should be playing in the nba
Before I watch this video I remember him at Maryland, he was a tough player that was an extremely good college player but he was a 6’6 point guard with slow foot speed at that level and especially the nba level and to me he only scored because he was normally 5-7 inches taller than the man he was going against and normally out weighed them so because of that he could see over his defender all game and he could pass good but it helps when u can just see over everyone that’s guarding you compared to him being a small forward in college and going against guys that could match his size and that would be stronger than him half of the game he played. Also I remember when he talked about my Memphis tigers not being good and then we played Maryland in the ncaa tournament and slapped them around and it was a straight up Ass kicking, but I also remember him as a Memphis grizzlies and he was a all time favorite role players because his pick and roll and pick and pop game with Darrell Arthur was like Stockton and Malone on the bench for my grizzlies. Overall an extremely good player on the college level and a nice role player in the nba but he was always a streaky shooter and slow footed and I’m guessing that’s why he isn’t playing in the nba now or has a future in the league at just 30.
Navarro had some amazing times that season - La Bomba! He could have played longer, but he could make better money and have a better quality of life back in Barcelona.
He should still be in tha league (imo) , cuz GV was an absoulute "floor general" & im pretty sure he'd still be like tht 2day... He'd be coming off tha bench for a Championship contending team if MF'ers cared about "ACTUAL TALENT" instead if skill sets!¡! Real hoopers will NEVA forget about Greivis Vasquez...
@@baconeggcheesepodcast9390 Luke Recker was a 6'6 swingman from Indiana. He was supposed to be the next Indiana great after Steve Alford and Damon Bailey. Cherokee Parks came to Duke and was supposed to be the next Christian Laettner. Xavier Henry was a one and done out of Kansas.
1) Vasquez was a Pepe Sanchez from Temple-type, who lasted longer in the NBA. 2) What type of "athletic, entertainment value" did Rajon Rondo have.......?

He was a Venezuelan what do you think we are basketball players naturally lmao.

I watched him the whole year at new orleans when he averaged 9 assists ADs rookie year I didn’t think he would be out the league so quick
What do you think happened
@@baconeggcheesepodcast9390 didn’t do any one thing better than anyone else

He is a massive overachiever. 4th leading scorer on his own college team. His career was spectacular, considering he was an overseas prospect

I can’t believe he was only 30 when he left the game. Bro was so fierce and fiery as a competitor I loved his game at UMD growing up here my whole life
Yeah he had game in college
I definitely requested this a couple times through out the years!
I played against GV in high school. He was a beast. Really ahead of his time. He was a great player in the DMV. Him and KD together was a thing to see
I think he maxed his potential. 7 years without high level physical attributes, coming in when these ultra athletes at the guard position started coming into the L. Low rated out of HS. 4 year college player. His heart, work ethic got him those 7 years..much respect to him
I'm sorry u should be at 1 million subscribers by now..ur content it's beyond great💪🏾
I remember him at Maryland
He seemed like an extremely hard worker and got everything he possibly could out of his ability
Do Ramon sessions he was in the nba for about 10 years as a back up but was standout player for the university of Nevada playing with nick fazecus and was excellent in high school coming from Myrtle Beach South Carolina against Raymond felton
My favorite Maryland player of all time

hey jc, can you do chapu nocioni? As an Argentine, I always loved how he played, he always gave everything and was pure heart.
He was a dog on 2k
2k14 legend
@william58295dawggg I’m saying lol Josh Childress would give me buckets every time I played against him. 😂
yessuh he was!
He was my starting PG on the Kings in 2K14, I ran the 4, Boogie at the 5, Rudy Gay at the 3, and we traded for Jimmy Butler to run the 2 😅
Micheal Beasley on 2k unstoppable
I remember that one year when he played for Memphis with z Bo and Marc gasol he was balling on the Plato’s
Playoffs
He was nice!
You should do Xavier Henry
Grevius

Tyler Ulis stunted growth!! Please do this video
Dope. Shit took me back fr.
Good segment, I was wondering what happened to him. All the best to Mr. Vasquez...
Politics of basketball Gre had major game
Request: Gheorghe muresan. He and muggsy bogues were a classic 90s duo!
With the acceptance of players like Luka and Jokic… I feel like greivis would have more success in today’s open floor game.
Hey bro can you do one on Juan Carlos Navarro, he was in the NBA for one year and did well but never returned
Navarro had some amazing times that season - La Bomba! He could have played longer, but he could make better money and have a better quality of life back in Barcelona.
Man got a cold name and a cold game🤣🤝
U should do Otto porter he was a top 5 pick and now a bench player
Crazy his prototype is lowkey a star lead guard now giddey luka type Mayb even sga
He dismantled UNC by himself 🤯
Do one on Rafer Alson next
He was the last soul of that university Maryland basketball team
Jamal Tinsley, Wayne Simien, Xavier Henry
Michael Redd, Jason Richardson, Kevin Martin, and Desmond Mason.. You probably covered all of them lol I'm late
He was like a hispanic version of Andre Miller.

You’re definitely right
Please do Justin Sheppard - Jamal Magloire's brother.
Definitely thought he would have a longer career but his body betrayed him.
Can you find out what happen to Myles Powell from Seton Hall
Can we get DJ Augustin or Shane Larkin?
1) Vasquez was a Pepe Sanchez from Temple-type, who lasted longer in the NBA. 2) What type of "athletic, entertainment value" did Rajon Rondo have.......?
There’s a nasty Rondo Mixtape out there with pretty good highlights
He had a good career given his limitations. If he didn't get injured, he would've played a few more years
Do James Felton the guy Tracy Mcgrady got into the top 100 from dunking on
Chris Wilcox next!
Who is that
I swear the way it's looking you might need to start early on Zion Williamson lol. Might as well start saving files to use in a couple of years.
