Thanks for putting this on. I'm an old man (73) crippled and can't do much so I spend a lot of time looking at places and things special to me. I was raised sorta on the side of Grandfather mountain and a lot of what you're showing is my old stomping ground. I grew up fishing the creeks that feed Price Lake and I've ridden horses on the trails including those that traverse Julian Price Park and one that ends up under the Viaduct. I also remember very well when they were building the lake and the Viaduct. Thanks again, beautiful video.

Enjoying you travels. I live just a couple of miles off the parkway near Grandfather Mountain and the Linn Cove Viaduct. In the 1980's when the viaduct was completed, but before it was open to traffic, we would drive up there and park and walk out on the viaduct. Enjoy all of your videos. I would like to travel out west sometime and see the desert.

I lived in the area when the viaduct was constructed. They used a European technique where sections of the bridge we're glued together using epoxy. The crane would be on the bridge placing the next section, and it was glued in place. Really bizarre Construction. Also, at Price Lake, where you mention there wasn't much camping around, you were literally standing 100 yards from the Blue Ridge Parkway Price Lake Campground with over 200 camping spots :-)

Did you notice how small the trees are at creggy gardens. The wind blows so hard year round the trees don't grow big. We have been there when they had 1" of ice on them then there was a white out of snow and it was spring time.

I started a week or so ago, wanting to know more about the N.W., having seen Rushmore last year. Glade to see you enjoying NC, we're blessed to have some of the best roads in the nation. There's an inside joke in NC, what's the largest family run business in NC? Punchline: The NC DOT. Seem al the executives of the DOT are blood related.
At 40 cent a gal, we also pay one of the highest fuel tax rates, so it's better to get gas in VA, when you can.
Got to see the park 'in bloom', back in the 70's. Too young to relish the experience, but do remember it being crowded.
