In this video we are taking you on a food journey through all of Excellence Riviera Cancun's restaurants, bars, their menus and some of the dishes we enjoyed.
AROMA is the resort coffee shop. Located upstairs across from the check-in desks.
MARTINI BAR is the central hub of the resort.
SPORTS BAR is located just past the shops. It features cold beers, cocktails and pub grub.
FLAVOR MARKET is Spanish Tapas and open until midnight for late night munchies and sangria.
BASMATI- Indian Cuisine
STARS BAR is the theater bar.
SHARK FOOD TRUCK located in the central plaza area for tacos burgers, fries and hot dogs. Usually open until 11pm.
PRELUDE BAR is located outdoors in the central plaza area.
BLUE BAR is the swim up bar in the main pool.
SOL BAR AND PIZZA OVEN is located beside the main pool and serves cocktail and wood fired pizzas throughout the day.
BEACH SIDE SNACKS menu is available form your beach server. Located on the APP at the end of the Bar menu.
OREGANO Italian Cuisine open for lunch and dinner.
LOBSTER HOUSE open for an a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dinner features lobster in many different forms.
THE GRILL is the resort steakhouse.
THE KITCHEN TABLE is the resort's international breakfast buffet and it is also open as an a la carte lunch. The is no dinner buffet available.
CHEZ ISABELLE is French Cuisine
SPICE is Asian Cuisine. If you want to enjoy the Teppanyaki show cooking then you need to make a reservation for that as they are set start times. If you want to dine off of the regular Spice menu there is no need to make a reservation. There are a limited number of Korean BBQ table grills and Yakiniku so ask ahead about those if you want it.
MAGNA and MAGNA LOUNGE is the resort restaurant and bar for Excellence Club Guests only. MAGNA is French and European inspired and is arguably the best restaurant on the property.
CIELO POOL BAR is the bar located at the Excellence Club pool for Club guests only.
LAS OLAS is the beachside lunch spot for burgers and tacos and the theme changes daily.
REVIVIE is the juice bar located on the lazy river Spa pool. There is now alcohol served at Revive.
ROOM SERVICE is available 24/7.
Be sure to download the resort Excellence Collection App to check out the restaurant times and menus, which days they may be closed, as well as which restaurants enforce specific dress codes.

Just in time we leave tomorrow. It's a great refresher. Basmati was our favorite. Flavor Market still shows open next week and hope to hit it up for some apps and sangria. Again, great video!

I assume there’s no dinner ( supper) buffet, did I misunderstand? Also I didn’t see chicken cordon blue on the French menus. Did I just miss it? Your videos by the way are fantastic, great filming and perfect voice! Oh I also find the tipping a bit confusing, I’m never sure if I’m doing too much or not enough. Any suggestions? 🇨🇦👏🌴

The chicken cordon blue was the chef's special the night we ate there. 😊
No, there is no lunch or dinner buffet. Only breakfast at The Kitchen Table.
Tipping is a really personal choice and rarely do we see staff standing with their hand out waiting for it.
There is a lot of tipping advice on the Facebook pages. The number one thing I have learned is don't try to keep up with what other people "say" they tip. It is often over inflated from what I have witnessed first hand.
We tip is local currency. Although they will happily take anything, it is easiest for them in their own currency. Order from the bank or grab it from the CIBC machines at the airport.
Tipping amounts also depend on how large your group is. The Facebook group averages that are closer to the amount we witness and give ourselves:
Housekeeping $3-4 day
Mini bar refill if you want something specific $1-2
Breakfast $2-3
Lunch $3-5
Dinner $10/couple
Drinks $1 round or a bigger tip if is get the same server all day.
Luggage $5
Transfer driver $10/direction
Bartender $1 drink directly from the bar for a cocktail.

Great video! Any resort suggestions thats reasonably priced if going end of April with turquoise beach / great food options (a la carte/ buffet) and spacious rooms and bathroom? TIA!

Phew! That is a tough one!
The end of April and the beginning of May is a nice time to go.
Turquoise waters in the Cancun area don't happen very often with the way the Sargassum has been the past few years. The warmer months are worse.
The Cancun hotel zone and the Playa Mujeres areas are better in terms of seaweed than further south.
Some resorts in this area with great food and nice rooms are Excellence Playa Mujeres, TRS Coral & Atelier. TRS is usually the most affordable.
In the Cancun Hotel zone you could check out Hyatt Zilara Cancun,
Riu Palace Las Americas, & Live Aqua. Riu Palace Las Americas is the most affordable but the food is not quite at the level of the other two.
If you want to look outside of Mexico then you could check out the Iberostar Joia in Montego Bay, Jamaica or the Hyatt Zilara or Ziva also in Montego Bay.
Or Excellence El Carmen in Punta Cana.

Debating between Excellence RC, Iberostar Grand or Secrets Akumal for honeymoon. Which would you suggest of those 3? Thanks

All three are great choices and I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of them. 😊
It would really come down to personal preferences.
All 3 have good food, plenty of restaurants & good service staff (Excellence staff stands out a bit above but all are good).
Akumal has the best beach. It has great rooms. It is furthest from the airport. Good snorkeling off of the beach, especially during turtle season. I don't find much value in upgrading to their club except for a room location.
Grand (Joia) is the most relaxing and quiet. Fantastic cocktails. Best of the 3. Not much nightlife but access to the other family resorts if you like to go for a walk. If you book a beach front you get a butler. We didn't use ours much but its an option. Not necessary though.
Excellence RC is closest to the airport (if you have a short trip). They have good activities. Great rooms. A really nice beach that they work really hard to keep cleaned up.
Club level is great if you want the extra restaurant and pool but again not necessary imo.
Honestly, all 3 are great options it just depends on what you want most for your honeymoon.
How long is your honeymoon? If you have more than 10 nights you could even split your trip into 5 & 5.
We did that between Beloved to totally relax and then moved to Excellence Playa Mujeres next door. It was fun but I wouldn't split your trip for less than 5 nights at each resort. It becomes too rushed.

Yes! We did have some at the Martini Bar 😊👍
Does anyone know what beers are available at the majority of the bars? Reviews always focus on mixed drinks. Thanks
@@bobhacking7844 We saw Dos Esquis lager and amber on tap at most bars
There are also some non-draft selections that vary between Sol, Tecate, Coors light and Heineken but those are always changing.

Just my luck. I'm about to visit this spot in a month, which will be my first ever Excellence property....and...Flavor Market might not even be open at all. Sigh.
@@MrBeatboxmasta I couldn't get an answer as to what's happening with Flavor Market but there are so many other restaurants that you won't miss FM much. 😊
It's also fun to do a "progressive dinner". Start early, have a bunch of your favourite appetizers, go check out some musicians, then hit a different restaurant for mains and desserts.
It's a fun way to try a bunch of different things. 😜
