Whoever came up with the idea of combining Metal with Kawaii dancing was a genius. Quite possibly the most entertaining thing I've ever seen. 🤯 Could have been horrible except the musicians and the dancers were all very good at what they did. Polished and skilled! 💯

Nice first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Galaxy. This song is the perfect blend of brutal metal with kawaii vocals and some of the best choreo. If an Oni (a Japanese ogre) is asking things like "Are you ready?" the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.
I hope you will watch a lot more BABYMETAL, they have about 50 songs and every one of them is different. Some, like this, are fun, others are deeper and more meaningful. Some songs are just good heavy metal, others lean more towards their Jpop roots and they do everything in between while also blending in many other musical styles and genres with virtually every metal genre.
'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere 2014 in the UK would be a good song for another reaction - or 'Headbanger' live at Legend 1997 (from December 2013 celebrating Su-metal's 16th birthday).

I have to say your description of the experience of listening to this bonkers group (like being punched in the face by a kitten) is the most accurate description I have yet encountered! 🤣 The group performed at Sonisphere in the U.K. in 2014 in front of a massive crowd of European metal heads who had never heard of them, and those sweet little girls probably thought they were going to be pelted with stuff from the audience when they walked out onstage. Not surprisingly, they had the crowd in the palms of their hands by the end of the first number. I suppose a reaction video to BAND-MAID would be next in order. This fabulous all-female band combines hard rock with Japanese Maid Cafe culture. I love the creative twist some modern Japanese bands are giving to traditional hard rock and heavy metal! You really need to try this one: *babymetal - ijime,dame,zettai - live at sonisphere 2014,uk* it is an anti bullying song and sends a great message. It was also a significant song at the Soisphere fest 2014 where BABYMETAL as finally accepting as a great and legit band. The crowd cheered..... we want more, we want more.. !!! You're welcome

I can not enjoy metal lyrics about loving opioid drugs and real Satan worship. I am okay with light hearted stuff like AC/DC and can see the goodness and light in them. I am so happy to see JRock and JMetal about positive and uplifting themes. Healthy minds bodies and spirits. I am not puritanical but I know that my depression makes me vulnerable. At my age no: sugar, tobacco, alcohol or rich foods. Healthy and happily addicted to JRock and JMetal.
To be honest, even Japan never thought Jpop & Metal fusion would be a good idea. But, at least, one person in Japan thought it might be a good idea. Kobametal had an idea. That idea led him to Sumetal. Yuimetal, Moametal & Kami Band followed.

Nice Reaction! Welcome to the foxhole. It's great that today we have resources like UA-cam where we can enjoy performances and in particular share Babymetal reactions. I'm not sure if Metallica will be retiring just yet...although they are all getting pretty old...but Babymetal are certainly better dancers and with the help of Mikiko's choreography they even danced beautifully to the prog rock "Tales of the Destinies".
The Kami Band get to shine in the introduction; they are part of the whole Babymetal experience. This has to be the heaviest song about hide and seek ever. The girls are being chased by iron club wielding ogres (called Oni). Late in the song the lyrics combine the old myth and tradition of these Oni with an allusion to a 20th century children's story of a little girl wearing red shoes who is taken from her parents...there's darkness as well as being heavy and of course kawaii.
Adorable best describes them _ But i think we need to fight here _ The musicians are very capable and proved their talent right here _ I would even go as far to say they are exceptional _ But the tone and overall performance of the singers would be better appreciated at a middle school graduation dance _ That's my opinion and i am sticking to it. . . :>)

Kawaii is “Cute” in Japanese. BabyMetal is literally Kawaii Metal or Cute Metal. A genre of Metal the producer of BabyMetal created specifically for the band.
There are a few really good J-Rock bands out there. But BabyMetal is unique in that they’re the only Kawaii Metal group.
