BabyMetal makes Metal fun. Those 2 little backup vocal/dancers just crack me up. They all make me smile and be happy. I feel like their proud big brother and just think "go get them girls". They were 11-12 years old when they formed BabyMetal, those girls are tough as fuck and super well trained. I think I was still eating dirt at age 11.
I‘m happy for everyone who finds a way out of the Metal elitist prison. Back in my teen days it was Metallica for me all the way, and not much to the left and right. My friends branched off to Suicidal Tendencies or Rage Against The Machine, but I couldn’t accept that as real Metal. I was the TRVE headbanger! What an idiot I was. I‘m so glad that I grew up and allowed myself to accept the gift that is BABYMETAL. They are so fresh and unique and fun and positive. I have never loved a band that much before. They are the epitome of live entertainment.
Sameeee Metallica and Static X was all I listened too. It feels so good to just branch out! Thanks for the story dude, I love hearing how music has affected others!
Great reaction. This is the best song about playing a game like a mix of hide & seek blind man's bluff and tag that I know of ... but they are playing it with an Oni (a sort of Japanese ogre👹). The growls are on backing track - that was the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da ya" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃♀🏃♀🏃♀👹 Once in a while the Kami Band get their chance to have some fun in the spotlight with an instrumental intro like this before the girls come on for the song itself. This particular compilation video has clips from different concerts spanning several years, the audio was taken from the Wembley Arena concert in 2016 (at least some of it anyway).
i've been binging baby metal since i first heard of them a couple of months ago. some of my favorites are this one, "headbanger", "gimme chocolate" (probably their biggest commercial success), and "road of resistance". watch the live in japan version of the last one,it's mesmerizing how in control of the audience these three young ladies are in that video.

Oh well ..

Great reaction. The Japanese metal scene is deep and varied. Babymetal is by far the biggest but there is a long history of great metal. Older bands like X-Japan, Loudness, Ninjen Isu and Galneryus are all great. Newer bands like Unlucky Morpheus and Crystal Lake are carrying the torch. There is also a vibrant and popular huge group of all female metal bands in Japan that are blowing up. Nemophilia, Lovebites and Hanabie are probably the most popular in the west. Add to the hard rocking not quite metal ladies for Band Maid and you have an incredibly deep hole to explore.

Just a heads up, the thumbnail you have up is the current line up. All footage in this compilation video is up to 2017, afterwards some things changed.. End of 2017 they took solo intros away (last one was for the song "Yava" at Osaka Fox Festival ), Guitarist Mikio Fujioka (the one smiling during the first solo - left channel in your ears) died beginning of 2018 from injuries sustained from a fall, then one of the girls (Yui Mizuno @ 05:08) left the group, 2019 they made the band wear masks along with using American musicians during overseas tours (you can tell the difference). They have a more electronic pop rock sound now. They will be touring the US this year using the American band and co-headlining with cartoon band Dethklok. Also, this song hasn't been performed live since the Fox Festivals in 2017.

Not one of my favourite Babymetal songs; but I think your reaction sums it up, along with the best things about Babymetal. Heavy AF. Cute AF. Clever and talented AF. Who could really ask for more? Thanks for the reaction.
@@RHY5IE Just listen to any of them. Your favourite will change over time. This is why I love them so much: there is no "best" Babymetal song. They all have their place. It depends on your mood.
I was once like yourself i could not get past punk and ska when i was younger but as i got older i learned to appreciate all kinds of music especially metal. Babymetal are like nothing you have seen or heard before the energy these girls put into a show is incredible and backed by some real talented musicians, their ability to make heavy asf metal sound like a catchy pop tune is astonishing. Now you have to search out the live performances and react to those as Babymetal are always better live,a few tips would be anything from legends 97 headbanger, gimme chocolate and if you want to see how heavy asf metal they can go then Babymetal death live legends 97,then do Rondo of nightmare live budokan black night you should have no issue with these vids either. Welcome to the Foxhole 🦊
There is no way to explore their work wrong, no matter how you go about it you will be constantly and pleasantly surprised. I do think, where you already like the band, you might enjoy watching them from start (in their first couple of videos they don't even have live musicians), and also there is a 30ish minute video that talks through their founding and history. There is a "Legend Live 1997" concert you can catch as well from 2013 that refers to Su-Metal's birth year, and is held within days of her 16th birthday. For the most part, if you find "Live" you will avoid the compilations (which are also fine, but I did see your surprise at it, and seeing them 100% live is just amazing).
You're in for a fun ride if you liked those first two! I've learned myself that the more I listen the less I notice the dichotomy between the dark heavy riffs and the "kawaii" voices. I swear Babymetal creates new synapses in your brain (I stole that from a UA-cam comment), the cognitive dissonance from hearing it is completely gone to me. It sounds normal
Everyone says why aren't they a regular metal band? But they don't actually want that. Babymetal is more than 10 times more popular than any regular Japanese metal band. And there are great ones.
If you like "fun" metal you should really check out the newer Electric Callboy songs! I'm thinking of "Hypa Hypa", "Tekkno Train" or "We got the moves" for example. Have fun!
Nice. Keep going and you will realize not all of their music is fun. Some of them will make you tears, sad or goosebumps. They have done some many different style of music. Here I recommend you some of their music listed by genre Speed Metal: - Akatsuki - Headbanger - Arkadia - Ijime Dame Zettai - Road Of Resistance Metal Ballads - No Pain No Rainbow Progressive Metal - Tales Of The Destinies - Rondo Of Nightmare - Mirror Mirror Hardcore - Catch Me If You Can Skacore - Yava Trash Metal - Give Me Chocolate Metalcore - Megitsune - Monochrome - Karate Black/Death Metal - Sis Anger Nu Metal - BxMxC Symphonic Metal - Divine Attack - Metal Kingdom Industrial/Electronic Metal - PaPaYa - Maya - Metalizm - Headbanger Night Of 15 Mix Theyre not babies anymore. They are ladies now haha. But I recommend you to keep on track from old song before going to new album. Waiting for your next choice man.
Yeah, this was like 3-4 different concerts at once. Watch Road of Resistance, Live in Japan.....it'll melt your face off. Some hints. avoid videos and instead find the popular live show (they are all about the concert performances..their video making is...well...actually BxMxC video is better than their live...but honestly, thats the exception)
Well it is intersting wgat Kobametalö had to do to get his girls to play metal for him. At least itbwas a bit of an end of a time. He had them nearly there. So he let the Kami Band there long before he called the girls.
@@tackle47 It is a very popular song. As it is technically a "girl power" song, the best audience reactions come from the Five Fox Festival concert, which was a girls-only concert. The audience screaming is epic.
here's another one that will take you on a journey, especially after the break. the Wagakki band..also from Japan. a great blend of rock and some traditional Japanese instruments and sounds. ua-cam.com/video/ponTbDDMYjw/v-deo.html
This video is a compilation of several different shows, hence the outfit/background/musician-position changes. Despite heavy songs like this, some people still can't accept that BABYMETAL are metal. As long as the Kami Band is their instrumental band for live shows, they are, and will be, metal af. That said, the labels are irrelevant. EDIT to add, may I recommend that you consider reacting to the all-female Japanese band Nemophila. Good songs to start with would be 'Dissension', 'Revive' or 'Rise'. They're mostly metal but, again, labels don't work well for them as they don't keep still.
Regarding your intro, I see nothing wrong with being a metal elitist as I'd consider myself one or a metal gatekeeper so to speak. I do like other genres also but I'm very "matter of fact" when it comes to what a certain genre is or isn't. Hearing you say you only liked 3 bands for 10 years is not something I'd call elitism, I'd just call that a very small CD collection lol. Good video though man. Babymetal \m/
when you see stuff like Metallica: Some Kind of Monster, we get to peek behind the curtain and see how dysfunctional some metal legends are. Babymetal are the consummate professionals, they’ve done it all, they eat genres for breakfast. Their song BxMxC is an awesome rap/metal hybrid, the live version is best
Great reaction! Please keep on reacting to Babymetal. However, if you don't mind, I would like to introduce EVE's music, a male singer and songwriter from Japan. For a startup, FIGHTSONG will be recommended by me. In every song by Eve, the guitar lines he wrote are always unique in his style. Say if you've heard his song before, you can almost guess another song you never heard and determine that's Eve's work by hearing the guitar line. His lyrics are so dark, but still remains a bit of uplifting. His another famous song is called "How to eat life"
Hey saved my musical soul when I retired and my CD player died and missing on the radio stunk My daughter showed me UA-cam and Babymetal and my soul was healed also I can find Judas priest and feel that half dozen bands that I love from the old days. Here I discovered other bands all female playing all their instruments & my mind was completely blown. happily blown. BABYMETAL led me to other great groups. Band-Maid Lovebites Mary's Blood Aldious Show-Ya (O.G. since last century) Doll$Boxx Bridear Nemophila Hanabie...and so any more BABYMETAL live. A must. Legend of 1997 concert Headbanger
You stumbled onto one of *those* compilations. Just a bunch of random concerts patched together. Babymetal's music is incredibly diverse. There's everything from upbeat to melodic, lighthearted to serious, really heavy to softer, and various shades from metal to more poppy. No song is really the same. My suggestion for comparison is Light and Darkness (Live), uploaded by who?, which is on the softer side of metal. ua-cam.com/video/e5EQ4hHFHG8/v-deo.html
As they got older the less red they used in the outfits. It's probably not 100% accurate but close. They've come a long way from needing to borrow clothes as wee little 11 year olds.
That's honestly why I listen to Babymetal, they are different. I went off metal for years because most bands are so cliche, good music with shitty growling or screaming vocals over the top, all look the same, all sound the same. It's boring
It’s a pity that you reacted to a compilation video. Compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. You are not reacting to BABYMETAL, you are reacting to a highlight reel of BABYMETAL.

So I do know Karate and that song is soooo good! Also Pa Pa YA

dude thanks so much for coming with me on the journey!
Not one of my favourite Babymetal songs; but I think your reaction sums it up, along with the best things about Babymetal.
Heavy AF. Cute AF. Clever and talented AF.
Who could really ask for more?
Thanks for the reaction.
can i ask what is ur favourite? i just got into them now thru this song :)

Welcome to the Foxhole
🦊
Ya when you start to branch out, its so refreshing! Appreciate the love dude
I like that intro. Try "Nippon Manju" - Ladybaby if you liked babymetal contrast.
For the most part, if you find "Live" you will avoid the compilations (which are also fine, but I did see your surprise at it, and seeing them 100% live is just amazing).
ohhh dude that sounds amazing. Will forsure look it up! Thanks for the guidance!

Babymetal = JOOOOOOOOYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Checkout some Buckethead, Queensryche, Porcupine Tree, Riverside, If These Trees Could Talk.
ohhhh Im aware of them! I remember my friend showing me Buckethead
Listen to their most popular and gimmicky song “gimme chocolate”
That was the first song I ever heard from em. Great song!
It sounds normal
its so good so far
Everyone says why aren't they a regular metal band? But they don't actually want that. Babymetal is more than 10 times more popular than any regular Japanese metal band. And there are great ones.
If you like "fun" metal you should really check out the newer Electric Callboy songs! I'm thinking of "Hypa Hypa", "Tekkno Train" or "We got the moves" for example. Have fun!
ohhh dude I love Electric Callboy!
Nice. Keep going and you will realize not all of their music is fun. Some of them will make you tears, sad or goosebumps.
They have done some many different style of music. Here I recommend you some of their music listed by genre
Speed Metal:
- Akatsuki
- Headbanger
- Arkadia
- Ijime Dame Zettai
- Road Of Resistance
Metal Ballads
- No Pain No Rainbow
Progressive Metal
- Tales Of The Destinies
- Rondo Of Nightmare
- Mirror Mirror
Hardcore
- Catch Me If You Can
Skacore
- Yava
Trash Metal
- Give Me Chocolate
Metalcore
- Megitsune
- Monochrome
- Karate
Black/Death Metal
- Sis Anger
Nu Metal
- BxMxC
Symphonic Metal
- Divine Attack
- Metal Kingdom
Industrial/Electronic Metal
- PaPaYa
- Maya
- Metalizm
- Headbanger Night Of 15 Mix
Theyre not babies anymore. They are ladies now haha. But I recommend you to keep on track from old song before going to new album.
Waiting for your next choice man.
I appreciate all the help fam!
Wow my comment here was deleted by Lord YT. Anyway have fun and come back with more BM songs.🦊🤘🔥
I got a few songs coming!
When a Babymetal song is voted for by popularity, 'Akatsuki' usually comes in first place.😀😀
Oh will check it out
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody That's right, i already left in my comment where you can get a safe clip of Akatsuki to react. 🦊👍
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody every poll I have EVER seen has Megitsune as the fan favorite. It is also their most played song live.
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody Here is Akatsuki Live at Budokan 2014, with English subtitles.
ua-cam.com/video/A25iFj5CVsE/v-deo.html
They're mostly metal but, again, labels don't work well for them as they don't keep still.
ohhhhh ok, thanks for the insight dude! I'm going to look at what you recommended! Im excited
Dude thanks for the insight. Another great part of this journey is meeting all these awesome people!
🤘🦊🤘
when you see stuff like Metallica: Some Kind of Monster, we get to peek behind the curtain and see how dysfunctional some metal legends are. Babymetal are the consummate professionals, they’ve done it all, they eat genres for breakfast. Their song BxMxC is an awesome rap/metal hybrid, the live version is best
All hail the fox god 😊
HELLL YEA!
Yooo cosmicwolf brother I found your UA-cam:)
ZAROOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
😁😁😁🤘🤘🤘
We love watching reacts, but for Babymetal you absolutely need to come in cold
Great reaction! Please keep on reacting to Babymetal.
However, if you don't mind, I would like to introduce EVE's music, a male singer and songwriter from Japan. For a startup, FIGHTSONG will be recommended by me. In every song by Eve, the guitar lines he wrote are always unique in his style. Say if you've heard his song before, you can almost guess another song you never heard and determine that's Eve's work by hearing the guitar line. His lyrics are so dark, but still remains a bit of uplifting. His another famous song is called "How to eat life"
ohhh that sounds right up my alley! Will check out for sure! Thanks fam

BABYMETAL.
Band-Maid
Lovebites
Mary's Blood
Aldious
Show-Ya (O.G. since last century)
Doll$Boxx
Bridear
Nemophila
Hanabie...and so any more
BABYMETAL live.
A must.
Legend of 1997 concert
Headbanger
You stumbled onto one of *those* compilations. Just a bunch of random concerts patched together. Babymetal's music is incredibly diverse. There's everything from upbeat to melodic, lighthearted to serious, really heavy to softer, and various shades from metal to more poppy. No song is really the same. My suggestion for comparison is Light and Darkness (Live), uploaded by who?, which is on the softer side of metal. ua-cam.com/video/e5EQ4hHFHG8/v-deo.html
hell ya!
out of curiosity, what were the 3 bands?
As they got older the less red they used in the outfits. It's probably not 100% accurate but close. They've come a long way from needing to borrow clothes as wee little 11 year olds.
That is pretty accurate 😂
Compilation vid, try getting live show entire songs rather than compilation.
That's honestly why I listen to Babymetal, they are different.
I went off metal for years because most bands are so cliche, good music with shitty growling or screaming vocals over the top, all look the same, all sound the same.
It's boring
much love! I can see what you mean!
It’s a pity that you reacted to a compilation video. Compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. You are not reacting to BABYMETAL, you are reacting to a highlight reel of BABYMETAL.
with it being one of my first reactions, you tend to just click on a video to react to. I plan on doing some more reactions.
bro has GOT to react to babymetal death ASAP if he hasnt yet D:
adding to the list!
They’re showing three different concerts in three different locations with three different outfits and stage set ups that’s what you keep saying
