What do you think about this selection? Who is your favorite? Feel free to let me know! Here on my comments on each entry: 7. Rhythmic Soulwave - "Stronger": The only reason that this is last is that it is not my type of music; not something I usually go out of my way to listen to. This song is not bad and it also stands out quite a bit from the other songs competing. 6. One Last Time - "Gambler's Song": Don't let me placing this song sixth mislead you. I do in fact like this song. My problem lies within the seemingly strange lyrics. I had ChatGPT interpret the meaning of the lyrics for me so I could get a second viewpoint, it helped a little bit but I feel like the message could've been conveyed with less-strange lyrics. Maybe it would be placed higher in my ranking if I didn't speak English, idk. The points knocked down from that aside, it is a basic, yet addicting track. 5. Mäna - "Human Eyes": On the first listen, I didn't really care for this song that much. Though, this one has grown on me with each listen. It is a very pleasant song to listen to. It is a pop song at its core, but the instrumentation is unique and interesting. I was reminded a bit of Tusse's "Voices" (Sweeden 2021) at some points throughout the song. Something that I can see myself occasionally going out of my way to listen to in the future. 4. Luzac - "Je Danse": I like this one quite a bit and I wish I could rank it higher. The instrumentation is interesting, switching abruptly between piano and electronic sections. The lyrics are catchy and are constantly stuck in my head. The song being in French is a nice switch-up from all of the others except one being in English. This song is definitely a contender to win if with good vocals and staging. 3. Zero Point Five - "Ride": This has to be the most underrated song in the selection. I'm not sure if I like this song so much because it is simply good, or if it is because I'm American and listened to many similar sounding songs growing up. It honestly would not feel too out of place at a 4th of July party 😅. I usually don't really care for country music at all, but I have streamed this one quite a bit. It is very rare that we hear a country song in Eurovision or even in a national selection, the last one that I can remember is Jay Smith's "Back to my Roots" in Melodifestivalen last year. This is definitely not winning the selection but it has already won a place in my playlist. 2. Laura Thorn - "La poupée mont le son": I love how dramatic and theatrical the song is, last time we had something on this level in Eurovision was probably Mimicat's "Ai Coração" (Portugal 2023). And this even beats that by a lot! This would definitely stand out at Eurovision and I imagine would score on the left side of the scoreboard. There is no question that this will most likely be the winner. 1. Rafa Ela - "No Thank You": Here we are at my favorite of this selection. This is the one I've streamed the most out of all of them, and the one I will most likely continue to go out of my way to listen to. this song is very catchy, well produced, and it will occasionally will be stuck in my head. I can see this one winning with the perfect vocals, staging, and choreography.
This is literally my top 7
