I Just want to give this woman a hug! She just has a incredible personality and looks out for all of us! I cant help but smile when she is talking. I really Pray this lovely lady stays truly blessed!
This woman’s channel has saved our family so much money and improved our health!! Her recipes are so simple and easy, even this busy tired mom is willing to do it! ❤️❤️
Ooh, you’re taking me back to my mama’s tortillas! Every morning she made us bacon and egg or potato and egg wrapped in a steamy homemade tortilla. We’d eat them while we waited for the school bus. Mama would give us some for the bus driver too-no wonder the bus driver was so kind to us! Mama would feed her tacos to my little brother’s football buddies when they’d stop by for lunch. She learned to make tortillas when she was a young girl so when I get to Heaven I’m gonna have to ask Jesus how many tortillas she made in her lifetime! What a blessing 😊
I was born and raised in Tucson. We could easily buy fresh, tortillas that really tasted homemade. I live in Kansas now and cannot find fresh tortillas anywhere. Just the fat, fluffy ones that taste like just fried flour. I occasionally make my own. It's a little time consuming but so worth it. Whenever I go back I buy several dozen and give my adult children some. We put everything in tortillas. Favorite of the kids when little - pb&j of course!
@@kathibecker5351 oh yes! Pb&j tortillas were a favorite at our house too. Dad showed us how to tear the tortilla into triangles to scoop up our beans so we didn’t even need a spoon as long as Mom kept those tortillas coming, haha. Such good memories! I’m glad Pam is teaching people how to make them.
PAM I am a first born American of Mexican and Chinese descent. My beloved Ma' Maria made flour tortillas all her life ...daily she would make tortillas for breakfast lunch and dinner...100 each time. She would have me knead the dough or turn the tortillas with my fingers...always saying "no man is going to marry you because you don't even know how to make tortillas". I never learned how to cook, bake or make tortillas. By 45 years old I was still unmarried...I blame it on not being able to make those darn tortillas.😅 I watched you make those tortillas so easily ..this morning I went and bought the flour and baking powder...I followed your instructions and made me 4 tasty tortillas that looked like maps but nevertheless they held my refried beans and cheese real well. Can't wait on Sunday to show off my tortillas to my ex houseeper and her husband. Thanks, PAM...now I will try to learn how to make that bread. BLESSINGS TO ALL MANKIND.
As a kid in the late 1950s, our next door neighbor made awesome tortillas that were not the thin kind we find on stores now. Hers puffed up, had well browned bubbles on both sides. They were made with lard. She would call me to tell me she was making them. I rushed over as quick as I could to get them hot from the cast iron pan, then I slathered real butter on them. YUM!
In the mid 1950s Mrs Padilla lived next to my grandma. Her grandson was my best friend. She would make beautiful flour tortillas! She would call us in from playing and slather them in butter for us...such a wonderful memory at 74 tears of age.
Here in Texas, you can go to HEB and they will sell you that kind of tortilla and it is all ready to cook. They are a lot better than the precooked bags of tortillas. They puff up too and they are super easy to heat.
I lived next door to Mr and Mrs Garcia in Santa Fe NM. She made homemade tortillas that were not as thin and were to die for! These will be great for Burritos and soft tacos for sure. My mother in law used Masa Trigo for her tortillas and then we couldn't find it on the shelf at the stores. It was a wonderful mix for tortillas. I miss them both so much and their cooking ❤
Hi Pam! Here’s a cheats trick for you! To lightly flour your surface without upsetting the flour content of your dough, simply use a tea strainer. Put some flour into a tub and scoop up the flour with your strainer and use that to flour your surface and/or your rolling pin. I learned this trick from a baker.
Miss Pam, you are a gift to the generations who didn’t have an opportunity for home economics classes! Good ole home cooking is a love language that can’t be bought! I love your simple ingredients and easy methods which save time in money! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Can I adopt you as an honorary grandma for my kids? I loved this video, I love the way you talk. Thank you so much! We need more people like you in this world
I had 2 packs of Mission Totillas in my fridge and both for over a year and they did not go bad so this past week I made my own and I intend to keep doing it. I still have the one pack that was never opened to show ppl. Those things should have been moldy in a month. Homemade is way better and I used butter instead of oil.

@@latonyajackson4295 I think part of our brain says well they are not bad but the other part says no way am i eating them so they sit there like a novelty awhile till we figure out what to do. This is the most perfect vocalization I’ve ever heard in videos such as this. An upbeat tone, clean and crisp pronunciation, perfect cadence, and incredibly encouraging demeanor radiates from each and every word! Couple that with a personality that exudes kindness, positivity, and that touch of sassiness that the best of cooks and chefs possess, and you have the perfect recipe for the absolute best of cooking content creators! Have I ever made flour tortillas myself? No, but I can promise you that I now know that I can, and that I can do so with ease! How do I know? Well, Miss Pam has shown me the way! Lovely channel, ma’am! I am so happy that the “Lords of UA-cam” saw fit to show me your content. So, if you’ll excuse me, I have an entire channel’s worth of content to binge watch!!!
When I was in the sixth grade, I was tasked with making tortillas to take into the class the following day when we were to study Mexican culture. I made a huge batch, it was a Thursday night. The next day the presentation was delayed until after the weekend. By the time Monday rolled around they'd hardened and could have been used as frisbies. That was (well) over fifty years ago and I'm still upset about it, but now i smile when it comes to mind. I'm so glad to see Pam's recipe and will give ut a try. . . yum.

I bought special organic masa flour to make these. I LOVE tortillas. When I had a gas stove, I'd lightly toast both sides, tear it into strips, and dip into cheese sauce. I love watching Pam show us how to make things. She is inspiring and just fun to watch. One of my favorite UA-cam channels. Thank you for making this video about how to make flour tortillas. I can't wait to try it!
I make mine pretty thick, and they are chewy. We like them that way. I do use lard, not olive oil. Also cook them on a screaming hot cast iron griddle. If they cook too slowly they will turn into rocks. Got the recipe from a really sweet Mexican neighbor. I really wish I had gotten the recipe for steak and potato filling before she passed. It was the best I ever had. She would use whatever beef roast she found on sale, and they were so tender and tasty. I remember she would cube the meat, and braise it on the stove top. That's all I know . Haven't been able to find a recipe that uses her method.
I learned to make Flour Tortillas from my mother. I make them often and share with her a she is 88 yrs old and does not make them that often. I make what are called Sonoran style. Same recipe but no baking powder and I use either vegetable oil or shortening and even good ol lard. They are rolled out vwry very thin and cook quickly. Infact I just made a batch before watching this. Lol😅
These taste better than anything at a store. Our daughter has an auto immune disorder and can only eat protein, meat, eggs, cheeses and low temp pasteurized milk. She was missing tacos and found a crunchy taco shell made out of shredded mozzarella cheese! The recipe is 1/4 cup freshly shredded mozzarella cheese placed on a piece of parchment paper on a dinner plate spread in a circle. Cooked in a microwave for 1 min and 25 seconds. Take out, using the paper fold over a wooden spoon handle or a taco holder till dry. These are so satisfying for her. Her family enjoys them too. Try this I know you’ll love them! Thank you for your Godly support and inspiration. Love you sis!

She would use whatever beef roast she found on sale, and they were so tender and tasty. I remember she would cube the meat, and braise it on the stove top. That's all I know . Haven't been able to find a recipe that uses her method.
Awesome
I can listen to her voice all day, and recipes are spot on! Love her x

I'm grateful that you have taken the time to teach us how to cook flour tortillas. You are a true blessing✝️🙏🏽💖
Lol😅
Thank You, looks Easy enough.
Blessings

Miss Pam. In your video you stated 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Your written recipe says 1 Tabspoon plus 2 teaspoons. Can you tell me which is correct please?
Thanks Miss Pam!
Looks like two and two in that bowl, but I would also like to be sure. Miss Pam, please?
