Hi everyone, if you liked this video don't miss my latest performance: Air on G String by J.S. Bach to the following link! ua-cam.com/video/cpAzRBgoHo4/v-deo.html&ab_channel=DarioRonchi
Dario Ronchi I like your moderate use of pedal. The overall sound is clear. But the recording is a little bit metallic. Tell your sound engineer to do a better equalizing and use better mics, maybe the hall is not fit for sound recording.
Martin Alvarado Probably because of the Yamaha, they have a really bright tone, Bosendorfer has a little muddy deep tone, Steinway is right in between, but I prefer my Gerhard Adam Grand!
I've always heared Bachs music as fire rap music. Mozart and Beethoven take a seat, the students should look up to the master, but the masters looks up to the God, Johann Sebastian fucking Bach.
" Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14, 27
I'm obsessed with Bach's "little" fugue in G minor. This is the music that makes me most want to learn to play the piano. Thank you for this beautiful interpretation.
I became obsessed with the "Little?" Fugue as a listening track after discovering it on a 1956 Eugene Ormandy LP then finding it was the first sample of melody given in an early edition of the book "A Dictionary of [10,000+ Classical] Musical Themes" [it headlined the collection because it had been accidently left out from publication and the starting page which quoted the opening bars was an "errata" section!]. To this day the Dictionary sample is the only part of the melody I can play but I binged on it for years when I wanted to put myself in a melodic creative mood then when the BACH 2000 Complete Works set came out I explored that regularly as well. To realise that the Little Fugue is one of Bach's earliest known compositions having been written when he was approximately 15 years old is awe inspiring.
I always come back to this great playing of this talented man...he really feels the baroque, sorrowful energy behind this notes. A talented pianist. Thanks for sharing this!
The term "little" has always made me chuckle about this fugue. In a few pages Bach has presented as grand a fugue as only he could do. Play this adjacent to the less well-known dorian fugue in D minor, an equally astounding fugue but one that is much more traditional and longer. They complement each other wonderfully.
my elderly grandfather who has played for almost 70 years was quite impressed at your work. he compared it to 2 pianists playing. you sir are quite talented as many pianists would never dream of playing the bass the way you did
Dario, your performance is without a doubt incrediable and unique. If Bach was here, he would be amazed how delicately you could transfer his soul and existance into air...
I don't usually comment on videos, but I have been listening to you performing this piece for weeks now. After all these countless youtube repeats, I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your performance. Absolutely magnificent!
My father's love of Bach has been passed on to me. He contracted polio when he was two which led to increased weakness later in life. When he was in bed, he'd request works by Bach to play on the stereo. Once I played your version of this piece, it was specifically requested by him atleast once a day.
I am listening to the Little Fugue with many different ensembles (Orchestra/Stokowski, Brass quintet and several more) and I am happy to listen to a "simple" piano version because it seems it would be impossible to tell apart the different voices but your interpretation is so good that it's really pleasure to be able to hear all of them nonetheless. Thx for the good interpretation!
Hi Dario, just wanna say you are the best pianist I found on internet so far! You are so focused, careful and emotional when you performing neatly and you make the music beautifully symmetrical. Morden but not too excessive, classic but not boring at all, calming and passionate at the same time!
The most glorious piano performance I have heard in a long while. I love how the individual voices are brought forth, as well as the unfussy elegance of the trills. Thank you.
Commenting again just to say how stunning the video work and camera angle are as well as the music! Just re-watched this and was blow away all over again!
Dear Heart, beautiful performance. You have a profound gift. This piece is very special to me thanks to a organ major who dedicated it to me for a recital when we were in college. He passed away several years ago and I miss him. I hear the Little Fugue and am transported back to that night when he allowed me to attend a rehearsal. The outer world was shut out for those few hours. All Love
