Literally your “rambling” as you call it makes it feel like a friend is with you while you complete tasks or just draw in your sketchbook. Can I ask why you keep your texture of all your sculptures rough and don’t smooth them out? Is it simply for texture or is there a deeper meaning to it?
haha GREAT QUESTION! A lot of my work deals with Asian masculinity and how Asian men undergo a process of feminization in the West by white structures stripping them of masculinity. Smoothness as an affect and physical appearance allude to this feminization as women in the West are expected to appear "liquid smooth" (think mitski). These queer tigers are happy, excited, playful, and resist this smooth texture to push against such social expectations. They are imperfect and slay 🙈💅🏼
