nothing against Jess but theres a danger having 'family' in sports broadcasting. Channel Nine used to do it with the cricket - ended up with about 12 ex players on the commentary team, all with large salaries - there was a monoculture based off an outdated heirachy. It affected the sports administration, coz it bled over into that. they lost the cricket because the admin costs to put it on were so huge that channel seven undercut them with a slimmed down version, much easier to watch, without all the status baggage. Already the supercars coverage tends to look back to do sports journo pieces instead of creating new content based off the current drivers, im looking at you swedish chef larko...my point....supercars is very close to having an 'old boys' problem....it hasnt seen the warning signs yet. Case in point, chad should be promoted to more air time - he is excellent. So is crailsey. why arent they the reporters in pitlane...?
