The point of the amendment was to make sure the people had the monopoly of force against the government, not the other way around. And no, we are not more civilized. There are many people that have youtube channels regarding Firearms, some of their reviews or video's are mildly entertaining. Very few are excellent! I can count on about 3 fingers channels I would consider informative enough that I would actually take any opinions or advise they have to offer and use it. The biggest key to their success, other then honest data; they have not let a channel on youtube make them into something they are not!! My question is: what in the world makes any of you self proclaimed star youtube channels think you can speak for anyones sacred gun rights? Bad enough the NRA has done nothing. Also, I consider it a good practice to run, run very fast and far away from people who claim to have "more POWER" then anyone else when it comes to rights and liberty for all.

They have made negative remarks in reviews, (see G43 video) and they even mentioned Glock being upset with them Advertising products isn't a dishonest way to earn a living. He's supported Democrats and also was pro gun registration at one point (video has since been taken down). Democrats are not > than the NRA. Yankee also places himself on a pedestal because he's only "patreon funded" and doesnt accept industry money. Well, there isn't a problem with being vested in the gun industry in the first place. Yankee also claims the NRA is mostly industry funded. The NRA gets 3 million a year from gun companies, they get 165 million a year from membership dues. In fact, if Yankee researched the matter, he'd know this because the NRA's finances are a matter of public record. (Note: I am only a GOA member)

Where people aren't professionally editing their videos, where they have nothing to gain or lose from a negative commentary on a product, because they spent their own hard earned cash on it and not receiving kickbacks. I only wish I learned this lesson before I bought a bunch of series 1 Hexmags and a rust prone, jam happy, magazine dropping, Kel-tec PF9.
This has gotten out of control. Gun control is a very hot issue and many of us are really pissed. Those dirt bags we elected are NOT standing up for us. So the problem is in Washington DC. Fighting among our own community is not going to get things done.

I have to disagree here and I will tell you why. One guy is having a hard time because of his guilt over the all the "blood money" he is making and the other one is worried about how much money he isn't making right now. Not what I would call strong supporters of the founding intent of the 2A at all. When "gun guy's" are using the same terms the anti's use in their big speeches and sit in's and others fitting right into the greed category the grabbers often speak about to describe their own feelings, well that is an issue right there.
Great video, I think that a lot of this is blown out of proportion. What Chad said wasn't as bad as people made it out but when Yankee released the info about paid reviews I think that is very dishonest. I have no issue with channels getting gear for free or even getting paid as long as they mention it in the video. I also believe that $4000.00 is a very large sum of money for a gear review certainly enough to sway and opinion and the clause about re sending broken products back until you get one that works goes against pretty much everything I started my channel for.
People underestimate how much time and money it costs to produce decently high production quality content which like the content or not IV does. and i haven't really gone through his recent video catalog, but i am positive he does a fair share of unpayed videos.Which cost the same amount as the paid ones but without the extra 4k to help from the company so overall i don't see a problem as long as his opinion isn't swayed. Which i dont think they are since i cant recall a video where he was glowingly positive without listing negatives People make it out like Eric is just straight pocketing 4k that's so far from the truth. I agree with your comment (about 11:42 into video) “when we are combined and working toward the same goal”. Emotions get going about the topic and people lose focus and just want to hurt those that hurt, or don’t agree with, them. I once heard, “principles before personalities”. This is perfectly fitting. One must exercise increasing discipline over personal emotion to sound mature, sane and ultimately convince your “opponent” to “convert”.
The round table did more harm then good. It wasnt controlled/moderated well at all and didnt allow for all to speak, certain people spoke much longer. Intros were too long and actual conversation was lack luster. Should of been a 2day event more people involved and recorded if anything not live, too much attention to the chat....and when the chat was addressed it was for nonsense not content or questions. Yankee had the same or more viewers in his chat. I know 6 personally who were banned in the chat and they were not cursing or using foul language? It just wasnt productive in my eyes anyway, just everyones opinion on certain subjects. 60 to 90 minutes just wasnt enough.
I agree 100% and posted a similar essay over on IV8888's channel earlier today. It was upsetting to hear supposedly pro gun people in the industry no less using anti talking points for their own views like blood money and just simply caring about how shitty the industry is doing now and how it's effecting their bottom line. Great video. Half of Yankee's complaints seem to be based on not understanding what a round table discussion is and basic parliamentary kind of conduct. Civilized discourse means you have to let someone finish their point, then make yours. I'm getting involved in local politics, so I have to learn Robert's Rules of Order so I can participate in a functional body of discussion. As much as you want to interrupt, you can't, or it all becomes an incoherent mess.

The problem with YM is that his points about the alleged collusion between industry, government, the NRA, and social media individuals is wildly unsupported. He sounds like Progressive Critic Jimmy Dore, everyone is sleeping with everyone, everyone is in bed with everyone, so on and so forth. Even if the scenario presented is mildly plausible, it must be supported. Some people like to consider themselves "cynics" or "skeptics" because they think the title sounds sexy. If you genuinely want to consider yourself a "skeptic", take the quote from Christopher Hitchens very seriously, that "what can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence." To be a cynic isn't to buy every conspiracy theory but to audit the truth level of every theory and claim presented with the highest level of scrutiny. Noam Chomsky, someone who the gun community loves, once came to the campus of my alma mater to speak, and in the after-party (if you will, hardly a party when philosophers are involved) he espoused a long theory on the middle east. Such and such an official hated such and such another official, and money had likely been transferred between such and such an official from such and such a country to such and such a country and that explains so and so's demeanor at such and such an event. One official perhaps met another official of another country in secret or perhaps another official had private contacts with another official. All these alleged transactions adding up to certain stances and behaviors in politics. Brilliant guy Chomsky is, legitimately, and the conclusion of his theories could be deducted from his premises, but there was no evidence that many of the things he was purporting, meetings between officials or transfers of money, conversations or liasons, had actually happened. If you would not buy Noam Chomsky's interpretation on the events in the middle east without evidence, then do not buy YM's theories unless he proves it with, not circumstancial, not inductive, but concrete evidence from whose premises the only logical deduction to be made are the claims he is making.

I follow all of you guys, YM is an amazing resource on revolvers, but he just loses it on politics. I watched the RT, and with the exception of Clint, everyone was clearly all in on the idea of no new laws, and disappointed with the NRA’s original position. Yankee was upset he wasn’t asked to participate, and obviously had an agenda in the live chat. As far as him getting banned in the live chat, he deserved it. If you listen to some of his videos, he admits to being banned many times from chats and forums because of his language and attitude. Anyway, hang in there, this fight (over gun control) is going to get worse, if the midterms swing liberal, it’s going to get ugly. Cliff’s Notes: Yankee behaves like this all the time, it’s nothing new, and I think he enjoys the attention.

Yankee also places himself on a pedestal because he's only "patreon funded" and doesnt accept industry money. Well, there isn't a problem with being vested in the gun industry in the first place.
Yankee also claims the NRA is mostly industry funded. The NRA gets 3 million a year from gun companies, they get 165 million a year from membership dues. In fact, if Yankee researched the matter, he'd know this because the NRA's finances are a matter of public record.

A quick Google search isn't showing anything worthwhile, which means well known isn't showing up on the first three pages of a "IV8888 white supremacists" search parameters. Also, by your logic, then 888 would be H.H. Holmes, a prolific serial killer over a century ago, what would 8888 be? Maybe IV8888 used to be an IRS agent, dealing with form 8888 all the time. Or perhaps he's giving homage to the 1988 pro democracy uprising in Burma called the 8888 Uprising. If you had come out and simply said. "I don't watch their videos because they're known for taking money to do a review and not make a disclaimer stating so." Then people like me wouldn't be here writing out a far too long retort (I'm not TNP, I swear). Hell, if you mentioned how they look like 'creepy inbred zombie hillbillies' I would have kept my mouth shut, and my family lineage crawled out of the Ozark mountains. In my opinion IV8888 is too much invested in making money, as are many gun channels to be fully honest. I made a mistake once, buying a recommended gun from a particularly never ending 'project' channel. After that 9mm handgun disaster, when I want more honest reviews, I go to the small channels. Where people aren't professionally editing their videos, where they have nothing to gain or lose from a negative commentary on a product, because they spent their own hard earned cash on it and not receiving kickbacks. I only wish I learned this lesson before I bought a bunch of series 1 Hexmags and a rust prone, jam happy, magazine dropping, Kel-tec PF9.

I have to disagree here and I will tell you why. One guy is having a hard time because of his guilt over the all the "blood money" he is making and the other one is worried about how much money he isn't making right now. Great video, I think that a lot of this is blown out of proportion. What Chad said wasn't as bad as people made it out but when Yankee released the info about paid reviews I think that is very dishonest. I have no issue with channels getting gear for free or even getting paid as long as they mention it in the video. I also believe that $4000.00 is a very large sum of money for a gear review certainly enough to sway and opinion and the clause about re sending broken products back until you get one that works goes against pretty much everything I started my channel for.
4k is not a lot for all the people they pay and the money they spend to make the reviews. most of it probably goes to production of the videos
People underestimate how much time and money it costs to produce decently high production quality content which like the content or not IV does.
and i haven't really gone through his recent video catalog, but i am positive he does a fair share of unpayed videos.Which cost the same amount as the paid ones but without the extra 4k to help from the company so overall i don't see a problem as long as his opinion isn't swayed. Which i dont think they are since i cant recall a video where he was glowingly positive without listing negatives

I agree with your comment (about 11:42 into video) “when we are combined and working toward the same goal”. Emotions get going about the topic and people lose focus and just want to hurt those that hurt, or don’t agree with, them. I once heard, “principles before personalities”. This is perfectly fitting. One must exercise increasing discipline over personal emotion to sound mature, sane and ultimately convince your “opponent” to “convert”.
The round table did more harm then good. It wasnt controlled/moderated well at all and didnt allow for all to speak, certain people spoke much longer. Intros were too long and actual conversation was lack luster. Should of been a 2day event more people involved and recorded if anything not live, too much attention to the chat....and when the chat was addressed it was for nonsense not content or questions. Yankee had the same or more viewers in his chat. I know 6 personally who were banned in the chat and they were not cursing or using foul language? It just wasnt productive in my eyes anyway, just everyones opinion on certain subjects. 60 to 90 minutes just wasnt enough.
I agree 100% and posted a similar essay over on IV8888's channel earlier today. It was upsetting to hear supposedly pro gun people in the industry no less using anti talking points for their own views like blood money and just simply caring about how shitty the industry is doing now and how it's effecting their bottom line. Great video. Half of Yankee's complaints seem to be based on not understanding what a round table discussion is and basic parliamentary kind of conduct. Civilized discourse means you have to let someone finish their point, then make yours. I'm getting involved in local politics, so I have to learn Robert's Rules of Order so I can participate in a functional body of discussion. As much as you want to interrupt, you can't, or it all becomes an incoherent mess.

The problem with YM is that his points about the alleged collusion between industry, government, the NRA, and social media individuals is wildly unsupported. He sounds like Progressive Critic Jimmy Dore, everyone is sleeping with everyone, everyone is in bed with everyone, so on and so forth. Even if the scenario presented is mildly plausible, it must be supported.
Some people like to consider themselves "cynics" or "skeptics" because they think the title sounds sexy. If you genuinely want to consider yourself a "skeptic", take the quote from Christopher Hitchens very seriously, that "what can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence." To be a cynic isn't to buy every conspiracy theory but to audit the truth level of every theory and claim presented with the highest level of scrutiny.
Noam Chomsky, someone who the gun community loves, once came to the campus of my alma mater to speak, and in the after-party (if you will, hardly a party when philosophers are involved) he espoused a long theory on the middle east. Such and such an official hated such and such another official, and money had likely been transferred between such and such an official from such and such a country to such and such a country and that explains so and so's demeanor at such and such an event. One official perhaps met another official of another country in secret or perhaps another official had private contacts with another official. All these alleged transactions adding up to certain stances and behaviors in politics. Brilliant guy Chomsky is, legitimately, and the conclusion of his theories could be deducted from his premises, but there was no evidence that many of the things he was purporting, meetings between officials or transfers of money, conversations or liasons, had actually happened.
If you would not buy Noam Chomsky's interpretation on the events in the middle east without evidence, then do not buy YM's theories unless he proves it with, not circumstancial, not inductive, but concrete evidence from whose premises the only logical deduction to be made are the claims he is making.

I follow all of you guys, YM is an amazing resource on revolvers, but he just loses it on politics. I watched the RT, and with the exception of Clint, everyone was clearly all in on the idea of no new laws, and disappointed with the NRA’s original position. Yankee was upset he wasn’t asked to participate, and obviously had an agenda in the live chat. As far as him getting banned in the live chat, he deserved it. If you listen to some of his videos, he admits to being banned many times from chats and forums because of his language and attitude. Anyway, hang in there, this fight (over gun control) is going to get worse, if the midterms swing liberal, it’s going to get ugly. Cliff’s Notes: Yankee behaves like this all the time, it’s nothing new, and I think he enjoys the attention.
