    Great video! Thank you. It almost felt like i was there. I'm 76 and handicapped now, so I can't get out there much, but this refreshed some old memories. I love bird hunting!

      @@kentskoien7583 Thanks for the kind words, you will always have your memories of being out there and I am sure you have had some amazing times out in the woods. Fall time when the leaves change colour is our favorite time of year but even in the snow we both try and get joy everything we see around us. Take care and have a great weekend ( football season begins 😊)

    The mystery wire is IP wire (Induced Polarization) is a geophysical method of measuring the resistance of geologic formations underground. The operator clips into the wire along the trail and connects it to a steel stake driven into the ground to charge the earth. A receiver unit measures the falloff of the current over time.

      @@HKsOutdoorAdventures you carry reels of it on your back. A good operator can do about 8-10 km a day on cut lines. Loved your vid. Grouse are my favourite hunt...

    Hi Folks ! From a quick search of that company (Abitibi Geophysics) I found that they provide survey methods for mining exploration. One of their methods is to utilize electromagnetic cables and devices to search for mineral deposits such as gold, copper and zinc. Not sure of their exact use of that black cable but I'd guess that its a form of antenna that detects magnetic variations and other mineral deposits through the use of an instrument that the cables connect to. I grew up in Northern MN on the Iron Range mining area. Also hunted Ruffed Grouse as a kid with my dad and still take trips back there to hunt annually now at 64 years of age.

    • @HKsOutdoorAdventures
      @HKsOutdoorAdventures  Рік тому

      Well that sounds like what it probably is and funny you mention the Iron Range, been to Duluth once a month for 30 plus years probably more lol been to Virginia, Biwabic, Hibbing (which I found amazing ) so we are both familiar with the area. From 1 young buck to another (I’m 63) thanks for watching mate

    What time is best to go get some birds?

    • @HKsOutdoorAdventures
      @HKsOutdoorAdventures  Рік тому

      We have the most luck early morning or late evening when the birds eat and get gravel for their crop to help digestion. The worst for us it seems are windy days tough bird hunting when it is windy
