- Dragging Exhaust quick fix/Side of the road super trick/Broken Muffler/Muffler dragging easy fix
In this video we'll show you how to fix your dragging muffler. If your exhaust fell down while you were driving it doesn't have to be the end of the world if it isn't all banged up. We'll show you have to hang your exhaust up temporarily so you can get your exhaust fixed properly when you get a chance. I've actually had my exhaust fall several times in my life.
So today me and Patty Rae We’re driving home from the shop and there was this old lady broke down on the side of the road in a Chevy equinox/ We pulled over and she explained that her exhaust had fallen off and she was scared to drive it because she didn’t want anything to happen to it. We were about a mile from her house so I ran home grab what I could to hold it up and I thought it was fairly in Genius and would probably have some longevity so I thought I would share it with you folks.
Next time you see somebody in need try to give them a hand nothing better than helping someone who doesn’t expect anybody to help at all!!!! Hope you enjoy the video God bless have a great day.

I probably would’ve done a little bit better job if it wouldn’t have started down pouring while I was underneath these people‘s car but it did feel good to help somebody on the side of the road.

this just happened to me on my old subie impreza at around 11pm at night. lets just say the neighborhood i was in was none too pleased, so I made the quick repair and got on my way

This is why I always had a wire coat hanger in my car
I literally had this problem and drove 2.5 k km with the fix on the highway and in the cities. I used a usb charging cable and a bloody bicycle cable for tying it as high as I could to the car

I didnt see this video until this morning after. I just strapped it to the bottom of the car with a bungie cord since i was close to home. But man oh man. Something oddly thrilling about doing a quick fix under your car as other cars go fast past you. Its like. Oh no im in danger hehe lol
So what if someone is traveling and going back home and is stuck on the interstate 2 hours from home lol people always carry rachets with you they are handy!!!! My exhaust came down and burned my tire luckly i had a spare changed it out and tied my exhaust yes it made alot of noise but I made it in once piece
I keep a small spool of bailing wire in my trcuk for a temporary fix for this

I have the same thing wrong with my car but I’m worried about carbon monoxide getting in what should I do?
That’s most definitely something to be worried about this was a temporary solution to get it home or to the repair shop and not destroy it completely so it was not repairable.
I would have to see what you’re working on to give you a solution other than going to the parts store and buying the correct parts to fix it.

Just noticed my hangers are broken off. Exhaust is hanging abnormally low
Can the car continue to drive if the exhaust pipe falls off? That's what happened to me today. Can I just fix it and drive home? It's 40 minutes from home. Is it dangerous? thank you.
Well, it’s not really dangerous, but it is awfully annoying and you’re gonna get fumes inside the car. I do highly recommend though pick up whatever fell off because each part can get really expensive.

I wonder if a zip tie would have worked to hold the muffler part up instead of a second clamp. That might have made it easier to tighten to get it higher off the ground.
Whatever works my brother not bad thinking….. I think this is just a temporary solution till you can get a more permanent one. But you definitely get it

I have straight pipes in my car My muffler broke off behind idk whatever red they installed is it ok too drive ? Or will carbon fill the cabin
You got to be careful in that situation, making sure that you’re getting plenty of ventilation inside the vehicle

Just happened to me. Can I drive my car that way for a couple months
I wouldn’t recommend doing it that way for a couple of months but you can get what’s called a stainless steel band clamp and put that over it and it will hold it for a long time if not forever until it rust out in a different spot
