- Hello and welcome to Wild Country Adventures. This is a video on how I made a bed frame in my 2007 Hummer H3. This was made to level out the back of the Hummer so I would be able to sleep in it during cold weather. There is storage under the bed frame, and it can fold up so I can use the back seat without removing the frame.

Nice design and overall utility. The engineers should’ve made the H3 with seats that fold flat. However, they didn’t so we must get creative with our rigs.

Got my lumber cut at Home depot and all my hardware. 88 bucks. Wish my luck tomorrow.

Could you tell me the sizes like dimensions length and width of the bed because I would like to recreate this for my H3 that I’m planning on getting soon
He says all the dimensions as he builds it.
1 x poplar is better 2x is too heavy, smooth birch cab grade 5/8 ply is stronger lighter top deck 3/8 or 1/2 inch bottom deck. Pull bottom seats out forward to lower, back fold down to level out. Drawer pullout are more practical easier access. Using 1× allows for drawers.
What’s the maximum length of the bed ?
The bed is at 6 feet but to lay it flat you'll need to move the front seats all the way forward.

How tall are you and what do you think the maximum height is to sleep comfortably?
I'm 6 foot and if I move the front seats forward i can sleep fairly comfortable, my feet do touch the tailgate though. But if I sleep at an angle it's quite comfortable.
Well the deck is only 5'3"
