Research youtube and you will see 5 cylinders h3's climbing walls. Cars and Roads has a nice channel where he does some really cool stuff with his 5 cyl h3. His h3 is quite moded out and he has front and rear lockers, but the power is all there. There are other channels where you will see stock 5 cyl. h3's doing some crazy stuff too.
You can fit 35 inch tires on a stock H3 with just cranking the torsion bars to level it. Then get some shocks with longer travel and some longer bump stops. Good to go.
Fun fact the 2006 h3s can be swapped over to a v8 (check the forums) and if what you’re looking for is a better tune check these guys out pcmtofnc.com they are the only ones who have done a proper h3 tune to my knowledge.
Regarding Someone replaces C/V joints and you knew that wouldn’t last because they would leak. OK C/V Joints Don’t Leak..C/V Boots Leak. Technicians regularly replace C/V Joints and Boots. The Boots won’t leak as long as the correct boots are used with the correct amount of the correct grease and secured properly. Not trying to be a meanie.. Just thought I’d make that info available. 😵💫
We wish that was the case. It was running on all 5. Foot to the floor. Might have been the elevation like another viewer commented. Or air filter was full of dust. Not sure!
Just picked up a 08 Alpha after being a Jeep Grand Cherokee guy for the last 25 plus years. I like the ride of the H3 but even the Alpha feel’s underpowered compared to V8 Grands, I do have 35s but have also had heavily modified Grands with 37s in the past. I haven’t had a chance to get this out yet but am looking forward to seeing what it is capable of and if I will keep it or go back to Jeep.
We have another video where we too got rid of this for an Alpha. The Alpha was a bit doggish. Reprogrammed the cpu with an superchips programmer helped a lot. But I think it might just be the transmission and gearing maybe? But yes, all our jeep buddies have said the same. the Grand v8 feels better for some reason.
@@ChurchieShed I have a buddy that does custom tuning that I’m gonna have do his magic on it and see what that does. It could definitely use more gears in the transmission but my 5.9 GC on 37s with 4:10s still feels sportier than this with 35s and 4:10s. I figured the H3 is heavier but doubt to much. I’ll see. Might just build the current daily 5.9 GC that’s already got some motor work 😉
Bro... super wierd. I do have one H3-I5 on 35´s and I do go out on trail and overlanding with it, and it never have happend to me that lost of power isue you are talkng about... As some other are saing on comments may be yours H3.. may be on a fault or something wierd, because its a very reliable and mid powerful overlanding vehicle in the budget, to get a pretty decent+ overlanding rig. cons there are not too much accesories out there to buy for it, but this is more a DIY to build up on yuur custom needs. Sorry about your problems with this H3, because they are endangerd spicies.
Agreed. We don't have it anymore, but something might have been up. Possibly the air cleaner was clogged from the dust. But who knows!? It was a great little trail truck for us. Definitely a rare species.
Good, honest review of the vehicle with a great, yet dry, sense of humor. I laughed and much as I learned.

No way! Didn't know that. Thanks for the post and for watching.

Maybe traction control was cutting your power under certain conditions
Almost certainly traction control working against you.!!
And its obviously not running right. Even though I have an Alpha I know for a fact that the 5 cylinder has more than enough power.

The base hummer comes with 32s stock. The adventure series comes with 33s.
Luxury edition and base edits... came out with 31´s Adventure and alfas with 33´s but you can but 35´s on it with no problem at all.
@Carlos Carpinteyro 265/75/16 is 31.6 which in tire world is called a 32.
I wouldn’t call H3 a starter trail truck, it will go more paces than 90% of actual trail trucks
2006 only had the 3.5 engine. No power at all. 2007 forward has the 3.7. Once my engine blows, I'm sailing the engine for an LS1.
This is true 3.7L i-5 its ... more powerful than 3.5 and better engine.
the h3 is a great truck but no spare parts in saudi arabia that's a real struggle for me as an h3 owner here
Were you in low range going up that hill
yep
What was your elevation? That 5 cylinder starts to starve for air when you get up high.
Great point. We weren't too high... about 6K feet.

We’re you on first gear ?
why didnt you use the low gear?
We did. In 1 and 4L.
bro, avoid using your rear shackles as rock sliders. been there, paid for it.
What gear were you in up that hill?
4L 1
2 years later and thank you for this video.
Do you still have your burb ? By far my favourite on u tube .
Yep!!
You should definitely do a walk around video of the burb . Would like to know some specs and history on it . 😎

Only thing that dates that vehicle is the chrome grill. Looks great otherwise.
Agreed. We always thought of blacking it out but never got around to it. Thanks for watching! Subscribe if you havent. THX
