I started a job out of state and slept in the back of my H3 Mon-Thursday for about two months. Wasn't as bad as you'd think. I would park in the company lot after everyone left and wake up early, go get breakfast then come back and take a shower in our company locker room after the boss opened up. No one from work even knew it. I slept on an air mattress but it took up much more space than this. Totally thought about building something similar. Good job.

Sorry for responding so late, but I am unable to make any more in my current situation. There are a few more videos like this one that show different ways you can build your own though

Just a suggestion, off of Amazon offers a set of two window Screens, that you leave on, window up or down, and they're blacked out, about $18. I have a 2003 H2, with a loft bed up 20" and 18 CF storage under bed, with a utility platform on the roof with solar and water. Solar charger, and kitchen inside!

@ScottReasons, hi Scott, I've been looking at some H3s recently, do you find them pretty spacey, for camping equip or two people sleeping in?

@@inOZ8434 well I have yet to sleep in mine I haven't set it up for camping yet. Another youtuber told.me that if he removes the doore covering the jack storage area he can stretch out and he said he is over six feet tall. As far as 2 people it would probably work just fine!!

Good job! And i can't figure out how to open the back door to get out if it's slammed shut in the cold. (

You can reach under the inside of the rear hatch and release the Rear Door locking mechanism !
(There is a bar that connects from the outside door handle to inside release mechanism.)

Typically I just lay it out on the bedframe and throw a tarp over it.

100% OK to use the bed build in the video. For the mattress just go to Amazon and search for a folding memory foam mattress, you'll find many options. The one in the video is 6" thick. And thanks for watching the video!

I made the light with the battery pack. It was fairly simple to do.
I had two extra head lamps and a couple of old busted GoPro mounts. I picked up a 4 D cell battery pack off of eBay.
The headlamps I used costed about $13 each from eBay --> www.ebay.com/itm/50000LM-LED-Headlamp-L2-T6-Headlight-Head-Torch-18650-Battery-Fishing-Hunting/393050708078?hash=item5b83a5d86e:g:pKoAAOSwM9tf0c8s
The suction cups from the GoPro mounts were about $6 each but you could probably find suction cups a lot cheaper somewhere else.
The four D cell battery pack was about $7 --> www.ebay.com/itm/Velleman-BH143D-BATTERY-HOLDER-FOR-4-x-D-CELL-WITH-SOLDER-TAGS/254838327416?epid=10024519057&hash=item3b558c4878:g:KbIAAOSwE95gBgGA
Then it was just connecting the lights from the headlamps to the suction cups and wiring them to the battery pack with a simple toggle switch wired in.
