Ciara, just remember that in this hobby/crafting/tabletop gaming world we all started off with no knowledge of what we were doing. We were just trying to create what we had in our minds in to something that was in the physical world. Sometimes we make really bad mistakes... and then we learn how to deal with them, remove them or have to start all over again. Other times we make beautiful mistakes that end up being a wonderful piece and we add that method as another tool in our hobbying toolbox.
Just remember that in the end as long as you're happy with the outcome... in the case of hobbying and crafting who cares how you got to that end. So long as you're not doing anything illegal, immoral and/or dangerous to yourself, others and the environment, you do it, enjoy yourself and your accomplishments!

She’s doing great. Need to get her some small or extra small gloves. It definitely makes a difference with well fitting gloves.
I usually seal the rocks before applying the ground cover, especially when I use the leopard technique. I actually prefer the sponge technique using straight cheap craft acrylics, but even then I still seal them because the iso pre-treat can destroy the rock painting.
Cool idea for a video! if Ciara can paint that well first time (space marine) and make a nice looking display board first time, watch out Oliver when you teach her Kill Team or WarCry! Keep up the good work.
I know, its scary how fast she has come along.. Hopefully I can beat her in a game, otherwise it could tear us apart 🤣🤣 .. she'll have to let me win once in while. 😆

Oo interesting. If you're after a display board, finding something cobblestone-y for the base is key. There are some cracking wallpapers and rollers out there (using foam or clay).
I'd say get lots of grout and soils, with pigments too. You could have a lot of fun with that!
When you say “Craft shop £1 paints” which craft shop are you referring to? Cheapest I can find is £2 a pot
Hey, I picked them up from The Works, in the UK (not sure where you are. I bought a load of them a couple of years ago.. they may have gone to £2 now, but they're great value paints. 👌

So "display board" is a base for a Diorama?
Well, it can be whatever size you want really, just buy the relevant picture frame and apply the same techniques (or build your own frame) 😀. I use this to display my bloodbowl teams at tournaments, and to take photos on from home.

Honestly she kind of annoyed me at times. There were simple things she complained about that kinda halted the vids pace, and as a newbie im trying to learn as much as i can, i get some ppl like the banter tho. I just hope there may be less time spent on it and more time on the projects
