In forward blocking mode after connecting a battery to gate and cathode, junction-2 (j2) isn't forward biased because P is connected to +ve terminal from gate but N is also connected to the +ve terminal. How it is possible sir?
You made this topic very sir....very thank u sir.......in our book there is 4 pages about this SCR

In forward blocking mode j1 and j3 should be in forward bias and j2 should be reverse bias
Yes you are right… plz make the correction…

Hai Sir, The forward conduction mode how the junctions J1, J2 and J3 are getting forward bias, Could you please explain clearly.
All 3 junctions would not be forward biased but by applying a large voltage the depletion region would reduce at vbo the depletion region would vanish and the device conducts

Thank you... do subscribe and keep supporting EC Academy 👍🏼
good explanation but a question why voltage drops in forward conduction mode
That small voltage drop is due to the ohmic drop across the four layers of the device.
I understand well super👌👌

How does J2 become forward bias ,in forward conduction mode,
In reverse bias condition depletion width will be more. When positive voltage is connected to P through gate. The holes in p region is pushed towards the Junction j2 and electrons in the N region move towards the junction j2. This will reduce the the depletion width and as the positive voltage increases at gate the electrons will diffuse in to p region and holes will diffuse in the N region making junction J2 forward bias...
Hope this was helpful
