Geebz, you GOTTA check out some King Buffalo next. They are definitely my favorite heavy psych band to come out in the last 10 years. They are so great that it doesn't even matter which song you choose from any of their albums. Every single song they have done is pretty much equally great, so you can't go wrong at all.
I’ve been into All Them Witches for a few years now. Their discography is super diverse. So many different sounds but always has their own sound to it. I love them!
Good one! I've been following them a few years now and this is some of the best material they've ever released. No doubt. Keep these great videos coming. "Diamond" is another good video to check out by them.
What about King Buffalo? If you like All Them Witches as much as I do, then you will like King Buffalo even more. King Buffalo is my favorite band to come out in the last 10 years...So great! All Them Witches is definitely close up there with them though.
Judging by you liking these songs, I can recommend "Rob's Dream" (my personal favorite!), "Blacksnake Blues", , "Harvest Feast", "Half-Tongue" and "Blood And Sand / Milk And Endless Waters" very, very much! Enjoy!
To anyone who hasn't seen these guys live: highly recommend. Saw them in a small theatre in Madison, and again at Bonnaroo this year. My girlfriend declared it her favorite set! So much power and authenticity, incredible. I actually enjoy live more than the studio.
Saw them on Halloween at the Ryman Theater in Nashville, where they formed. Best show I've ever been to other than Tool. But I was also on acid then, too, haha.
This is such a great band. I didn't see that you'd listened to them before, I'll have to go digging. Other great songs Diamond, Charles William, Bulls, Fishbelly 86 Onions.
Baker's Dozen has a decent few more songs to come out, new one every month. Definitely recommend checking out the rest of the songs too honestly. So many different ones, and all fucking amazing. On the bass, it's the vocalist too, but seen them live a couple times, and he uses a sub bass pedal. So it's his tone, the keys, but also shit you don't even know you're hearing, that makes it so hefty sounding. And obviously the engineering and mix. As for the synth stuff, their keyboardist does a lot. They didn't have him for am album or two, and the drummer was getting really into electronic stuff and tape loops at the time. He has a side band called UVWAYS you would LOVE I bet. He also does pretty much all the album art. Dude is wild. But anyway, these Baker's Dozen songs have had a good mix of the keys, with little tinges of the tape loops and heavy sounding electronics the drummer loves doing. It's wonderful. Btw, I wouldn't pay TOO much attention to genre names. You'll get wrapped up I shit there's no need for. Stoner rock works for these cats, I always had them in the categories of that and heavy psych. Neo psych works too, especially for their stuff these days, it's constantly morphing. But just a heads up to not get too wrapped up in genres, it'll end up confusing anyway with those idk... sub-subgenres is the only way I can describe it
Looking forward to see them next month! Funny nowadays we don’t want to be labeled but still making up new labels. For me this is stoner or psychedelic rock!! Or just ROCK !! Great track 👏🏻
All them Witches. That was the name of the book in Rosemary's Baby. Anyways sorry to throw a request at you but your the best and you break things down better than anyone else I've seen. I'm a musician and about to turn 40. I love so many different songs from every decade from the 50s on up today. I know you've done plenty of nine inch nails, but one song in particular I've been praying you'll analyze. It's Trent singing about being on the verge of death from all the substance abuse and he uses the ocean as a metaphor for his death and how he's accepting his fate. It's called "The Great Below". Basically a poem to all of his friends, family and fans if he had succumbed to death. When he got clean after that and soared higher than anyone could imagine it makes me smile to this day. I know it may be a while. But thank you for all of your excellent videos. Ted from Oklahoma
This was a pretty good track, it really lets you chill and just fade into all that's going on. The bass is really the key player here, but the vocals are what did it for me. Simple, but a great choice to have them be almost monotone and yet, echo at times. It adds this heavy feeling to them; this isn't an emotional, positive song, it's a chugger, and has some sick slide guitar work to round it out! Awesome shout here, Geebz, love hearing this stuff on the channel. It really lets me wind down and enjoy the music nicely! Thanks for the vid, keep on rocking!🤘🤙
Love that band, please do Enemy of my enemy next that is an awesome tune. Not sure if you’re familiar with the band Black Rebel Motocycle Club, they have a similar sound so if you liked it fo treat yourself to some more great neo-psychedelica🤣🤙🏻
Geeeebz! When you gonna do a reaction to The Black Dahlia Murder? You have GOT to put that on your death metal list. So many great albums to choose from but my song of choice is Blood In The Ink.
I got SO locked into ATW after the first two reaction vids, I'm on a solid binge for them at the moment, and while I wasn't sold on tigers pit the first time through, I'm kinda hoping this will change that! Update; absolutely did.
ATW have been releasing 1 song a month all year. Each has been slightly different in style with that ATW feel - still some great tunes, but definitely more basic in nature
Geebz. You have to listen to El cascabel by Tlen Huicani and movimiento by mariachi los camperos. You won’t be disappointed. The arrangements are so beautiful.
The band monomyth is another one of these new psychedelic rock bands. It's instrumental which for me leaves more room for psychedelic potential...monomyth, check em out man
From the band describing this song: In an Instagram post about the song, the band noted that “Tiger’s Pit is a song about living in an age of double standards and polarized elitism. Everyone is waiting for their neighbor to think or speak in a way not conforming to the new norm. We are now capturing every small injustice we can find and documenting it for everyone to see for the rest of eternity.”
I was wondering why this song really got me hooked in as it progressed with that droning bottom end on the guitar and bass and then it hit me. Listen to Angel by Massive Attack... that same drone/bottom end bass rhythm is throughout that song as well (just as addictive if not more on that one).
Geebz, you have been sleeping on this band for too long! Do yourself a kindness and listen to em on your own time. I have been sleeping on them for too long myself. Give em a spin when you are trippin on life in the backyard. Go for any of their albums and just listen through it. Dying Surfer or ATW. You can't go wrong with any of them. The only songs that I can't feel immensly drawn to are the few and far between that sound too country/grass for my taste. Any other of their either bluesy, psychedelic or prog metal songs are just crafted with 100% everytime. Even the sleeper songs at some point all came around as absoloute gems. Their song "Diamond" is a good representation of that. Everyone seems to like this song the most for some reason, but it is one of those that keeps on giving with it's hypnotic drive and subtle changes. All of their lyrics hit differently, too. And to top it all off, they shine most when playing live. The KEXP Sessions on UA-cam are among the best "free concerts" I ever got my hands on. Hope All Them Witches will be around for many more years! Legends!

I second this. Great call!
pretty sure he did centerion a while back
Dead Star is one of the best rock albums of all time
They're actually fans of All Them Witches too!
100%
Best opening band I've ever seen. They opened for Primus and Mastodon a few years ago and it was very good.
I bet that was an amazing night. Congrats to you for being a witness!
These guys kill it live
I’ve been into All Them Witches for a few years now. Their discography is super diverse. So many different sounds but always has their own sound to it. I love them!
They're so versatile. Great songwriting over their whole catalog, and always coming in with a surprise.
the children of coyote woman is one of the most impactful and emotional songs for me for some reason. these guys need more expsure
I am absolutely obsessed with this song
Same. Took a dmt blast and the song came on after Hush Im On TV. And i had not heard Tigers Pit yet. Best introduction to a new song ever!
They’re just SOOOO f•ckin good!!! 🤤🖤🤘🏻
literally just discovered this band earlier today.
based on what i've heard so far, i'd call their genre psychedelic blues.
Just found these dudes a few months ago and now I'm five LP's deep and loving each one more than the last. This blues folk metal is TITS.
Check out King Buffalo🎶🤟
Gotta love All Them Witches, they can be so hypnotizing. I believed I got to knew them thanks to your channel ;)
It's like 70's classic rock modernized.
Good one! I've been following them a few years now and this is some of the best material they've ever released. No doubt. Keep these great videos coming. "Diamond" is another good video to check out by them.
Yes! I’m just getting into this band. Them and Truck Fighters 👌

@@BayouMaccabee yes king buffalo is coming up in the recommended as well. Good stuff
King Buffalo is great, I just find the vocals too monotonous and same-y to really put them on top of the list.
@Bayou Maccabee I love them, but they're not as versatile as ATW. A lot of it can be monotonous, and much of their songs sound the same.
If you havent already, i'd really like to see and hear your feedback on their song Rats in Ruin
Just recently found this band. A couple more good ones, "Slow City", "Diamond", and "Am I Going Up?" Love the videos! Keep it up!
well do I have good news for you....he's already done "Am I Going Up?"
@@j2swanky Man, that was almost exactly a year ago! I forgot lol
Judging by you liking these songs, I can recommend "Rob's Dream" (my personal favorite!), "Blacksnake Blues", , "Harvest Feast", "Half-Tongue" and "Blood And Sand / Milk And Endless Waters" very, very much! Enjoy!
Ooft nice choice. Love these guys. This is a banger.

Open Passageways, Talisman, etc etc :)
Blood and Sand / Milk and Endless Waters for SURE.
Coyote Woman Trilogy.
You'll see what I mean. Great band!!
I heard or read someone describe them as psychadelic desert rock, which I think is accurate. One of my favorite bands and so good live.
Omg! Thank you! I totally forgot about this band! Now I know what Im gonna listen to today!

gotta do 'This is where it all falls apart ' from the older album 'Dying surfer meets his maker'.. incredible tune
Looking forward to see them next month! Funny nowadays we don’t want to be labeled but still making up new labels. For me this is stoner or psychedelic rock!! Or just ROCK !!

Fucking A. My fav band atm...
Namaste

Jimi by Butthole Surfers. It’s their tribute to Hendrix
Geebz. You have to listen to El cascabel by Tlen Huicani and movimiento by mariachi los camperos. You won’t be disappointed. The arrangements are so beautiful.
OM - STATE OF NON-RETURN !!! CHECK THIS ONE!

ATW "See You Next Fall" gives me the same Massive Attach feeling, yep.
this band doesn't have any bad songs, you can't go wrong (but listen to "3-5-7 (Live)")

I'm here. Lil late. Geebz, did you get my picture message while I was on vacation?
Hey Adam - did you PM on Patreon?
@@KeyOfGeebz no I don't think you can send pictures in Patreon. I tried to DM you with Facebook messenger but I wasn't sure if it went through or not.
For sure some King Buffalo!
Geebz, strongly recommend Somali Yacht Club - a great Ukrainian stoner rock band
