I feel like you can drive yourself crazy thinking about and researching these things. 😩 I went through that phase after having Melanoma, and it gave me so much anxiety about everything we were eating, everything I was cleaning with, and really just about everything in our home. It’s a delicate balance between making healthy choices for yourself and your family and keeping your sanity at the same time… because there’s bad “stuff” in just about everything - and it can vary depending on the opinion/methods of research from the person writing the information we consume. I wish we were all just given truly healthy options in all facets of everyday life and didn’t feel the burden of researching everything to death.
@@mothermakeup7481 I’m not an expert on any of it. ♥️ I just know I do the best I can making choices for myself and my family while balancing the fact that I know I can go nuts reading all the he said/she said regarding what’s healthy and what isn’t. (Some things are obvious - I’m speaking more to things where there’s no clear, definitive answer/evidence from medical professionals.). And you know what? At the end of the day, we can be as perfect (for lack of a better way to put it) with our choices as is humanly possible, and things still happen. Good choices certainly only help, but with so much conflicting information out there, I just do the best I can. And at the end of the day, I’m okay with that. ♥️
totally agree and have said the same thing about the "vaccine not being safe".... literally most of the plastics, chemicals, and pesticides are worse. lol
I highly recommend you check out a youtuber Dr Drea. Shes a board certified dermatoloist and she says there are truly nearly NO studies linking aluminum based deodorants to cancer. Love you Shea!
I still use aluminum based deodorants because they are the only ones that work for me. The natural just doesn’t cut it. I feel like every woman over 50 would have breast cancer if the aluminum thing were true, older women never had the natural options growing up.
THANK YOU for calling out Maybelline Great Lash. At 48 years old, I recently finally indulged my curiosity about the hype and bought the iconic pink tube for the first time in my life. IT SUCKS. LOL! Into the trash it went! Sloppy smeary mess! So runny...if I even slightly itch my eye it smears all over even hours after application...yuck!
I’d have to disagree with Proactive. I had bad acne when I was starting college and I was so depressed and the infomercial of Proactive popped on my TV. My acne was totally gone after using the set. I also talked to a guy classmate who had bad acne and I noticed that his face was clearer, turns out he also used Proactive. So, I think it depends on the skin type of the person? Or maybe it works for the younger age? I dunno, I only have rave reviews for Proactive. 💗
I had really bad Rocasea and Proative is the only thing that worked for me! It’s the only thing I have been using for the past 10 years! Love it! I only use the cleanser and sometimes the lotion.
I’m noticing that no one has mentioned how a lot of these brands still test on animals. This is something that really needs to be looked at. We need to consider how much these animals suffer for our vanity. Love your channel 💗
OK below is my original comment HOWEVER I now have a horrible rash after using this deodorant for about 4 weeks (I didn't at the time of commenting originally). I started off with a couple small red marks after about 2 or 3 weeks that weren't irritated or bothersome so I continued use. I would say BEWARE of any deodorants containing alum or aluminum since there's just so much mixed info/research out there PLUS now I now know first hand this product can cause a severe allergic reaction if you have sensitive skin or could possibly be unknowingly allergic! I left a review with photos on Amazon for anyone interested. Original comment: The THAI deoderant is safe. The "alum" in the crystal deodorant has a different molecular makeup than the aluminum found in you usual antiperspirants. "Alum has low degree of antiperspirancy and functions more as a deodorant than an antiperspirant. Aluminium Chlorohydrate is a small molecule and works by aluminium ions being absorbed by the body, Alum is a stable larger molecule and is NOT absorbed and works as an antibacterial agent on the surface."
Proactiv works. I don't have to use it every day anymore because it cleared up my skin, but I keep some on hand for occasional use. Thanks for product recommendations.
I agree! Proactiv saved my skin! I broke out horribly on my forehead & cheeks while in college. I used it faithfully for a good 10 years. I don’t have acne anymore but I have Proactiv to thank!
Me too!! It worked like a charm for years and I keep a bit on hand now for the occasional times I get breakouts! My older skin craves moisture now, but the Proactiv still works wonders on inflamed acne prone skin!
I really love when you do videos like this and even throughout some of your other videos you will mentions ingredients that aren’t good for you. I feel like I’m getting a mini education! Great job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I so agree on most of these but the frig containers have been a Godsend for me! I can finally see what’s in the back by pulling the container forward. Nothing gets lost or forgotten.
Thanks so much Shea for discussing health and recognising all these toxic chemicals in products, and also mainstream alternative milks. So many people don’t bother looking at this!
I’ve mastered how to use the Taxluxe drops! Hope this helps someone… You really need to exfoliate right before applying them. I use glycolic acid on a cotton pad at least every other day if not daily. If you don’t exfoliate it will build up and get splotchy, as any self tanner would. Everyday when I exfoliate some of the tan comes off on the cotton pad, but that’s what you want to see. Next, don’t apply the drops mixed into your moisturizer, rather apply it just as you would a serum and do it right after exfoliating. I think adding the drops to moisturizer dilutes the effect. And then just continue with your normal skincare from there! I’ve noticed that they do stain my hairline if I apply it to my face when my hair is dry, so I will wet my hairline a bit (if I didn’t wash my hair that day) to prevent the staining. Also, if you want to save some money, the body drops have the same ingredients as the face drops do, just in a slightly different order. And dollar per ounce, the body drops are cheaper!
It’s so nice to see other people caring about what they put into their bodies!! I’ve gotten picked on for years because I’ve always been so conscious of what I will allow my children and myself to use. Even if it’s all for nothing at the end of the day I can say that I tried my very best to limit my exposure to harmful chemicals.
My only thing with the makeup erasers is that they do a really bad job of taking off mascara and it’s so important to double cleanse so I just don’t see the point to go in with the makeup eraser first anymore. It just seems like unnecessary tugging at my skin now
Hi Whitney, enjoy your channel. I rarely leave comments but felt I had to this time. I have used Thai salt crystal deodarnt for many years and was shocked at what you said. So I, too, did research and found a competeley different conclusion then you. This is a small portion of what my research uncovered. "Yes, alum stones are a safe and effective natural deodorant. It is important to note that they are made of potassium alum which is a different chemical compound than the aluminum found in conventional deodorants, and they do not possess the same health risks. Regular antiperspirant deodorants usually contain either Aluminum Chloride, Chlorohydrate or Zirconium, all of which have health concerns. Potassium alum on the other hand is a mineral salt with a large molecular structure that sits on the surface of your skin rather than being absorbed. It is not a heavy metal and has not been linked to breast cancer or Alzheimers." Thanks
Yes, it is great to recognize that they are different compounds with unique properties despite sharing the root "alum." However, even if it did contain Aluminum Chloride it would be fine! I am sooo tired of the fear mongering!! There is so much misinformation about antiperspirants being marketed right now to push people towards "natural" deodorants. Research (specifically peer-reviewed literature) has consistently demonstrated that aluminum antiperspirants are completely safe. Meanwhile, many of the so-called "healthier" alternatives are actually harmful! Some people may choose to opt for deodorant (odor control) over antiperspirant (sweat control), and that is perfectly fine-- just consult with your dermatologist about the ingredients and don't spread fear!! 1) There is no medical evidence warning against aluminum-salt in antiperspirants (no, it is not a risk factor for cancer or Alzheimer's disease; some studies have linked chronic aluminum exposure to diseases, but these studies are specific to exposure via contaminated drinking water and occupational inhalation-- not dermal absorption). Some people with sensitive skin may experience irritation, in which case it is recommended that aluminum-salt antiperspirants be applied at night (as this allows the salt to travel deeper into the duct since there is less sweat production at night) and the excess antiperspirant on the surface that causes irritation can be wiped off in the morning. Underarm sweat does not contain toxins, so blocking the ducts & "trapping toxins" etc. is not a legitimate concern. 2) Fallacies about the dangers of aluminum salts have made antiperspirant-alternatives ("natural" deodorants) very popular. The term "natural" is not regulated/standardized so it can really mean anything (heck, aluminum is a natural compound). Antiperspirants are FDA approved because they are classified as drugs, whereas "natural" deodorants are not required to be approved by any official regulatory agency because they are classified as cosmetic products. 3) Lots of natural deodorants use sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) as their active ingredient. This compound is alkaline (basic) while our skin is weakly acidic. Adding an alkaline compound to an acidic environment can cause irritation and break down the skin barrier, leaving us susceptible to contact dermatitis. 4) Lots of natural deodorants contain essential oils which, despite being marketed as anti-bacterial, are impure and often contain compounds that oxidize & degrade, ultimately mixing with your sweat to intensify odors (not to mention essential oils are known irritants) www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/causes-prevention/risk/myths/antiperspirants-fact-sheet Moïse Namer, Elisabeth Luporsi, Joseph Gligorov, François Lokiec, Marc Spielmann . I think it depends on the look you're going for. If you want the dainty, really separated lashes, the pink Maybelline mascara is great especially separating the lashes at the edges. When I want the full sort of stacked look, then I'll go for something like the other Maybelline option.
I have to disagree with you about Proactiv. After I had used a facial scrub by St. Ives, I started to break out with acne on my cheeks so much that my doctor thought I had rosacea. I was in my 40's at the time when I went to dermatologists and tried all sorts of acne treatments, but the rosacea just got worse, and my skin got drier. Finally, after a year of trying, I got a facial and the esthetician told me that it wasn't rosacea but acne due to small, clogged pores. I needed to clean my skin better. Then I tried Proactiv and within a week, my skin started to clear up and the redness went away. I don't use Proactiv anymore because I no longer have acne or any oily areas of skin as I got older. It saved my skin and relieved me of a lot of frustration and anger over not being able to treat my "rosacea".
I’ve been using Proactiv for 25 years, I use the cleanser everyday still. I haven’t had acne for more than 2 decades. The cleanser is gentle on my skin and not drying. It also helped my 14 year old daughter erase her acne and gain her self esteem back.
Proactiv worked really well for me in terms of getting rid of acne, but I became allergic to it within a year. Some of the ingredients are pretty harsh.
I guess some have different experiences… I suffer From cystic acne and I tried pro active once and it didn’t work, made it worse .. but that’s just me. I’m so glad it worked for you though.
Couldn't agree more with the mascara and tanning drops I thought it was just me. Thank you for making a totaly honest product review people don't always have money to waste.👍
That mascara is the best ! Every time I try something else , I go right back to the maybeline great lash. There are different brushes and I love them all. Any other mascara I have tried sucks.
I love how hyped you get in these videos, and even how well researched you are in some of these chemicals that we see in a lot of our products! You're great! Always bring a smile to my face
I use them to organize my pantry and under my sinks. I also have one of them in my garage fridge to put smaller misc items in to keep them from getting lost behind larger items.
Love hearing your thoughts! A product that I don't love anymore is Olaplex 1, 2, and 3. I used to think it was amazing, but it just doesn't last for me. Seems to wash out right away. The pH of the Olaplex shampoo is too high, not healthy for your hair, but the conditioner's pH is excellent. I may try the oil, leave in or conditioner, but the treatments (1, 2 or 3) are just not worth the time and effort. Also playing a little with K18 to see if it's better, but not sure at this point.
Yes! I had to switch too. It actually gave my hair too much protein and caused it to dry out and become brittle and break. Now I use the system maybe twice a month, tops.
I agree. Olaplex 3 works until your next hair wash, the shampoo is awful, I don't use the conditioner because it's so average. The K18 mask is beyond brilliant and permanently repairs. I've just used it for the 4th time. The trick is to leave it untouched for 4 minutes after application.
They make another brush for that mascara. I love it because it gives a more natural effect. Although I don't wear that much make up. Also maybe you don't have acne or rosacea, but Proactiv is the best, in comparison to all other 100 of products I tried. It's a very highly rated brand. The sulfer skin purifying mask is very good for someone with rosacea. I'm 35 and been using Proactiv since before age 15. Actually there is a purging time frame when you use acne products, they will break you out more for a few weeks, if they are working. You might not have used it properly. Since you have zero skin problems, you can't understand, obviously. If you actually had a skin condition , you would love Proactiv.
Yes! I love the rubber brush for the great lash mascara. For $5, it is one of the only mascaras I use for a 12 hr work day. My high end mascaras transfer and give me under eye "raccoon eyes" by the middle of the day
Did you miss the part where she said she used to suffer from acne? It’s great it worked for you, but it didn’t work for her. It worked for my friend but absolutely wrecked my daughter’s face for months. Clearly it’s a product that works for some and not for others. No need to expose claws and fangs - it’s not that serious.
I just started using Native and it’s the Best ! I’ve used a lot of natural deodorants and Native is the best I use the coconut and vanilla. Also you’re right about the natural mineral crystal , potassium alum is a form of aluminum and I heard it’s a bigger molecule so it doesn’t absorb as much just stays more on surface but idk! I don’t use the crystal anymore (I used for a month before realized it said alum and googled ) cuz not worth it !
I'm not a fan of 99.9% of the natural deodorants, but Lume does actually keep me from stinking. I also try not to buy anything with fragrance at all. I started getting dermatitis all over my face and body and it took my dermatologist and an allergist to finally figure out that I'm super allergic to "fragrance mix." Apparently lots of people are and don't even know it. They just think they have itchy scalps or problem skin. Now I look for fragrance free products if it's going on my body.
I really enjoy these random product evaluations, whether your saying they're too hyped and don't do what they claim & I also like the product evals that you say are wonderful. I'm getting my almost 21 yr old son a couple of things for his birthday that you and Josh suggested during your series of X-Mas gift ideas for men. I have bought several of your suggestions and have been incredibly pleased except for one: *the KENNZI IPL Handset...is a DUD it never turned on and I'm so disappointed, I really wanted to minimize my leg hair. I emailed them the same day I received it and didn't work but they REFUSE to even exchange it. I didn't ask for a refund, just a product that works. And it was rather expensive $255. Nor did I purchase it through PayPal (to use the product guarantee, I am simply out the money : (
I love the Purity facewash so so so much. I use it to remove all my makeup every single day. It’s gentler than anything else and leaves my skin perfectly clean. The trick is to rub it on my face dry, then rub in some water, then rinse off. It’s gentle enough that it takes off my eye makeup without hurting my eyes, and never stings my skin, which somehow both Cerave and Cetaphil cleansers do. It’s the best.
Shea you are my go to person for beauty and fashion! If you say it sucks, I believe you. Pretty much all of the things you have recommended that I have tried, I LOVE! I get compliments all the time, and you really deserve the credit! Thank you!
If you want to microwave popcorn, try one of the silicone microwave popcorn bowls with a lid. Works great - tastes better and it's cheaper than the prepackaged variety. Plus you can make your own toppings for the popcorn!
Pro-active did work in the early 90's but not anymore. Lately I've tried all three formulas and none of them work at all you're so correct. Thanks for all the other tips.
I do not have the time or the money to research all of the items that Shea Whitney does for all of us. I appreciate her opinion I think she is well informed and again it is her opinion you can take it or you can leave it - I think she does wonderful work and I am so appreciative!
Hi Shea, I'm so happy to have found your channel! I'm a new subscriber. I find your videos, informative, fun, and relaxing. Thank you, when there are so many challenges currently in our world... it helps a great deal to have content like this that is uplifting. Thanks so much. oh and Fyi on a whim I bought the Maybelline great lash mascara Big from Amazon the other day and was really surprised by the applicator brush...it is much bigger and much better than the original. I actually really like it.
Hello Shea, Wanted to share: you can pop regular popcorn (1/4 cup) in a paper lunch sack(bag) for 2 minutes in the microwave. Then add whatever toppings you like (melted butter, ghee, salt, brwers yeast, etc). Simple enough for children to make as well.
I completely agree about Maybelline Great Lash. I'm 57 and I tried it a couple of times over the years because makeup artists in the magazines would always list it as a "go-to" (were they paid to say that???), but always hated it and had to throw it away. Maybelline makes so many more awesome mascaras and I never understood why people like that one. I would love to hear some insider scoop on that one!
I have been dairy-free for seven years and have tried a ton of dairy-free milk alternatives. Malk is the only almond milk I’ve found that doesn’t have that heavy almond taste. And it’s Whole30 approved. 👍🏾
I completely agree about the tanning drops; I could never get it to spread EVENLY throughout the cream! I woke up with splotchy patches all over, luckily I tried it on my chest first, so at least I could cover up.
I use the Dr Dennis Gross product. It really does help with the texture on my skin. And yes, it is expensive but really worth it. Try the small size to see if you like it first.
About 6 years ago I got lazy & quit coloring my hair/covering the gray... I quickly discovered that when I did let it grow out, the gray came in like highlights to the point that whenever I get it cut/trimmed, I get compliments on it & asked where I go to get the highlights done.
Thank you for sharing all of these. One tip for the popcorn lovers ... Paper Bag Popcorn Method: Step One: Measure 1/4 cup popcorn kernels into a lunchbox-sized paper bag. Step Two: Loosely fold just the very top of the bag over so the kernels don't spill out. Step Three: Microwave until there are more than 3 seconds between popping sounds. ... Step Four: Carefully remove bag and enjoy!
I had really bad acne in middle school and high school. I tried EVERYTHING and the cleanser that cleared my face, chest and back was Neutrogena Men Invigorating Face Wash. I promise this stuff will work! I only used it in the shower and it cleared my skin in a matter of weeks. Since having to wear a mask more often I started to get pimples along my chin and started using it again and it cleared them up so fast. I HIGHLY recommend it and it’s less than $7!
The makeup remover towels are the best!! You introduced them to me over a year ago and I have been using the same set since then. They truly are fabulous!
I appreciate you bringing up the natural versus healthy topic. It’s very true and it’s something people sometimes forget about, myself included. I wish I could have find a natural deodorant that works for me. Native didn’t work for me but it has for many of my friends. Loved Purity and Proactiv but that was a long time ago. I’m glad to know Purity cleaned up their act, pun intended.
There’s such an easy solution for the popcorn! I have an air popper- no cleaning, takes literally one more minute than if you got one of the microwave bags. And you control the oil and seasoning! Also you can buy a microwaveable glass popper thing where all you do is put the kernels in and watch it, so it takes exactly the same amount of time as the bags!
You can pop regular popcorn kernels in a microwave: put a bit of your favorite oil in a large glass bowl, add 1/2 cup popcorn kernels, cover with a plate, microwave for 4-5 min, depending on the microwave power. You can add more time (30 sec at a time) if needed. Season anyway you like.
Agree with the ones I've tried. Also the MSG hype/myth was debunked a decade ago. Also can you link the studies about aluminum harm from deodorant? Thanks!
There are plenty more too. Look into vaccines and aluminum and look into Alzheimer’s and aluminum.. oh and just research it yourself. NEVER take anyones word completely on anything before confirming what they are saying on your own 🙄🤦♀️

I have always liked the Maybelline Great Lash - BUT only with the curved brush! I don't use the straight one. I usually use Thrive mascara, but I don't like using that one on the bottom lashes. The Maybelline Great Lash with the curved brush is GREAT for the lower lashes!
Great video Shea. I have to agree on the refrigerator organizers!! If I had nothing to do all day I would consider it but there’s not enough hours in my day to add more tedious tasks. Transferring food from its original container to other ones then writing the expiration date, occupying real estate in my fridge with plastic bins, transferring laundry detergent to glass containers in the laundry room along with dryer sheets, scent beads, etc. Then you have doubles of everything because most containers don’t fit everything so you have the rest of the product as back stock. These tasks, (although beautiful I must say) are so time consuming. Simple is always better. Don’t stress yourselves out with transferring everything to containers people.
I put a 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels in a double brown sandwich bag. Microwave for 2 minutes and you are done. You can then melt some butter in the microwave (or whatever) whilst your salt the popcorn, or just eat them plain :)
I realized that I only love tubing mascaras, because they do not smear, even though I layer oil, serums, lotions and eye cream. Never get raccoon eyes. Plus they are the easiest to wash off. Maybelline Sky High Mascara is a tubing mascara. Also love Glossier. I'm excited to try Victoria Beckham, Hour Glass and Thrive Causementics' tubing mascaras!!!
Proactive worked for me, but it's pricey. Started using birth control pills, and all my acne cleared up. Now I'm over 40 so I don't break out so bad, but retinols and peels help too. For the fridge organizers, just line it with Bounty or fridge liners. :)
I’m 44 and have dark hair like you. I don’t die my hair but every 6 months or so I use the Revlon Root Erase on a few grays. You have to try it! I agree the L’Oréal is terrible.
I’m kinda bummed about the whole crystal deodorant thing being harmful. From what I’ve read potassium alum is a different chemical compound than the aluminum found in conventional deodorants, making it safe. I’ve read antiperspirant deodorants usually contain either Aluminum Chloride, Chlorohydrate or Zirconium, all of which have potential health risks. I’ll have to continue doing more research on this topic, thanks for the heads up Shea!
@@Alykat736 sodium bicarbonate is alkaline while our skin is a weakly acidic, this can lead to skin barrier breakdown and increase the skin of contact dermatitis. Aluminum containing antiperspirants are completely safe, if that is something you're concerned about (: I am more than happy to provide peer-reviewed sources. I am just so tired of seeing misinformation spread and people feeling like they have to abandon FDA-approved antiperspirants for "healthy" "natural" deodorants that are not approved by any specific regulatory agency.
@@jessicasims5596 Yes, it is great to recognize that they are different compounds with unique properties despite sharing the root "alum." However, even if it did contain Aluminum it would be fine! I am super passionate about fear-mongering, especially with all the misinformation concerning "natural" deodorants and aluminum salt. Peer-reviewed literature has consistently demonstrated that aluminum-salt antiperspirants are completely safe (and definitely have not been shown to cause cancer or Alzheimer's disease). Meanwhile, many of the so-called "healthier" alternatives are actually harmful! (I am more than happy to link research articles if you want)

Proactive works for me. But about two years ago I saw a video with a code for Curology and I decided to try it. I love it so much! It’s really not any more expensive than any other skin care regimen. I now have a board certified dermatologist that I can contact and they can change my prescription as often as needed.
Proactive does not work for many users.Fortunately there is a wonderful product called Differin and it is well priced, works and have heard from so many parents that it works for their teens.Yes! Best moisturizer I can recommend is Cerave!! Have given as gifts to so many women and they are loving it.Have not used microwave popcorn in 10 years!! Just looked into it and stopped immediately.Same thin with micro diner plastic trays.Just put frozen food on a non plastic plate, cover with a sheet of paper towel and save your body from all the chemicals
I always wanted to try Philosophy Purity cleanser but never could because I’m allergic to formaldehyde. I recently saw that they changed the formula to remove many of the bad things (I mean why were they there to begin with?!?!). I have been using the new formula for a year and love it. Glad you can use it again without worry this time.
My friend used the crystal deodorant in high school, eventually the crystal just starts to smell like armpit. I TOTALLY agree with Great Lash...I've never figured out why anyone loves it. I tried Proactive and it just dried me out, so I tried the gentle and that didnt help either; my skin got worse, same with Curology...and I tried all of the methods of easing your way in. I really like Lumé for deodorant, it truly destroys odor BUT it is not an antiperspirant...you still sweat, just not smelly.
Princess Lash is great but tough to remove. I like the pink Maybelline BUT it has to be the pine tree shape brush. Works great and I have light lashes you hardly see without. You can make your own oatmilk. Cheap and easy. Better than almond in my opinion. 😊
I struggled also a lot with products for my skincare. I used proactive many years ago for my acne and it worked for me. Now I use products from Yves Rocher and that is a perfect alternative for me. The products are: Sebo Vegetal cleanser and lotion for oily skin and serum vegetal for day crème and night crème.
I use the maybelline waterproof mascara to cover my gray hair, then I use the leftover on the brush for my eyebrows LIGHTLY. It’s meh for my lashes. Nor do I need deodorant any longer since I started eating keto. I use a natural deodorant and body powder. Even after working out I don’t get any help body odor.
Your channel was a recommendation and boy an I happy 😊 😃 You are like a breath of fresh air. I have been binge watching your videos all weekend. Wow 🥰🥰🥰
Hahaha Great Lash is the worst mascara I’ve ever tried and yes I used to use it in the 80’s. 😂 How is it still around?! (Then I switched to Voluminous back in the day and it was a huge difference. Now I use Lash Paradise which is similar.)
I didn't love Great Lash either. We eat lots of popcorn and I love using my hot air popper. Its so old that my hubby has replaced the cord on it twice 😂 I love older appliances because they last so much longer then new ones!
I have a microwavable silicone bowl that pops the popcorn in the microwave for you! It's the same medical grade silicone as spatulas and stuff and it keeps the ease of microwaving without the bag!
Many European companies sell much healthier ingredients in all products you put on your skin.Canada also uses less ingredients compared to the USA.Products from France are so reasonably priced.
Absolutely love the Erase Your Face makeup remover towels for removing makeup and mascara. I couldn’t find the right kind of mascara remover, it would either be too oily or burn my eyes and then I found the Erase Your Face at Costco o we Christmas.
I used proactive way back when I was a teen and honestly didn’t help much. I went through the Purge with my skin when it started, but honestly it wasn’t ever sustainable not to mention it was really expensive. The only thing that actually was nice to use and did help a bit was the green tea moisturizer. The rest of the line was crap for me. I ended up on a topical cream which helped a lot. Now I just use Vichy and a basic gel cream and my skin is much happier.
We just microwave popcorn in a paper bag with a little oil. Almost as good as the stove top kind! But… lol… I LOVE the root touch up dye. But then I prefer a semi-permanent dye for in between salon visits. Otherwise I feel like you end up with multi-colored patches (hard to explain).
I used to have tons of Philosophy products given to me. My sister inlaw used to work for them she would bring home bags and suitcases of it, I give them all away. I don't use it. I stick to one skin product only. I don't use any of the products on here either. One thing i do not do for my skin is try this and try that( might mess up my skin) however products wise. Different stroke for folks. It might not work for you but works for some one else.
HI Shea, I'd love for you to do a video on over-hyped products, especially on tiktok, amazon reviews, etc. I find that many influencers are recommending or highly rated Amazon products. Castor Oil, which has numerous five star revies and recommended everyone is one I can think of. After trying it for a couple of months, I see absolutely no difference. So this just seems like one on the list for me. Also, I think videos on other Amazon categories such as travel items, organization, would be great.
What a good video! I love how the products slide into view or are launched from another location. You've done all the research for us and I truly appreciate that. You are truly a professional sales person!! Merci'
Thank you so much for talking about the Crystal Deodorant. I have been using the liquid form of this for years thinking I was doing something good and safe. I had no idea that is was so dangerous, and I am going to stop using it immediately and go find one of the ones you recommended. I feel so stupid! I did purchase the Makeup Eraser on your recommendation and I love it! I want to purchase the small individual ones next, so I have a clean one for each day. I highly recommend these! I also agree with you on the mascara, and I have seen several other people that said they don't understand either why this is so beloved. I do love the Essence Princess mascara. Please keep doing these product recommendation videos; they are so helpful!
Thanks for this comment. I legit got scared after watching this video.
The anxiety from being obsessed with these things can also cause health problems, in some cases more so than the products people worry about.
This is just too scary for those of us concerned about our health.
totally agree and have said the same thing about the "vaccine not being safe".... literally most of the plastics, chemicals, and pesticides are worse.
This. I was disappointed by the lack of quality research in that.
I agree! Great Lash is horrible!!
Yep is very “wet & messy “
My Mom loves it...don't get it...so clumpy and all my lashes stick together. 🙄
I never liked it either!
It’s the worst mascara that I’ve ever bought!
Yes! Proactive saved my skin!
Same!
Same! I used it before getting married and my skin was so clear o didn’t even use foundation for my wedding.
I agree! It completely cleared my skin!
Love your channel 💗
agreed
Exactly!
I agree. As soon as I realize the product isn't cruelty free ..... I'm not interested anymore and look for my own alternatives.
sooo absolutely true
Agreed!
I suffered with acne for years. Proactive is the only product that worked. I still use it. It is wonderful.
Original comment:
The THAI deoderant is safe.
Is potassium aluminum sulphate bad for you?
Excellent to know
Thanks for the info!
Thanks thats cool to know!
Thank you for this!
Proactiv works. I don't have to use it every day anymore because it cleared up my skin, but I keep some on hand for occasional use. Thanks for product recommendations.
It absolutely does work. It helped me and it helped my friend and her skin was horrible and it’s never been better.
It got me through my 20s. Totally worked for me!
I love that you give alternatives to the things that didn't work out for you! It gives a positive vibe
Thanks for the love and support🙌❤️hit me up on the number above 👆👆 I've got a prize for you.
@@mathewenenche9612 You fraudster.
That's so real of you to say you look better on camera than in person. You're amazing.
Thanks so much Shea for discussing health and recognising all these toxic chemicals in products, and also mainstream alternative milks. So many people don’t bother looking at this!
I’ve mastered how to use the Taxluxe drops! Hope this helps someone…
You really need to exfoliate right before applying them.
I despise The Great Lash Mascara. I think maple syrup would do more for my lashes 😂. I do love the clear version as brow gel though.
4) Lots of natural deodorants contain essential oils which, despite being marketed as anti-bacterial, are impure and often contain compounds that oxidize & degrade, ultimately mixing with your sweat to intensify odors (not to mention essential oils are known irritants)

It got rid of my acne as well as a teenager/young adult!
The Loreal Bambi eye mascara is soooooo good!!
Side note, I am so impressed with how easily you can say aluminum 😄👏 that word trips me up so much!!
I love how hyped you get in these videos, and even how well researched you are in some of these chemicals that we see in a lot of our products! You're great! Always bring a smile to my face
Jessica Mobley I don’t think that’s her. I had the same reply on my comment.
I'm so with you on those refrigerator organizers, Shea! Like, it looks good, but I'm not looking for a useless hobby to keep up with 🤣
I use them to organize my pantry and under my sinks. I also have one of them in my garage fridge to put smaller misc items in to keep them from getting lost behind larger items.
I love that you gave alternatives to the products you don't like. Thank you!

Yes! The Essence mascara is honestly my favorite and half the price of most drugstore mascaras!
I agree! Best valued mascara out there. I tossed my maybelline after using this. Shea is right, it does suck. Lol
It’s the BEST!
Nor did I purchase it through PayPal (to use the product guarantee, I am simply out the money : (
I tried Native deodorant. One afternoon I smelled a funky smell…. It came from my underarms. Did not work for me!!!!
Same, it only really works on the really cold winter days where I don't do much. So, pretty useless! Schmidts deodorant seems to work better for me.
Me too. 😞
Same...stuff is a joke
Try applying it right out of the shower at night or in the morning!!!
@@TheGatorChompion I did! Just does not work for me!
I love the Proactive spot treatment. Nothing works better than anything I know.
The waterproof Great Lash mascara is my favorite mascara. It doesn't stick my lashes together like you said
I love the Purity facewash so so so much.

Finally! I’m not alone with the refrigerator organizers. Lol, I couldn’t keep up either. Have a blessed week.
I do not have the time or the money to research all of the items that Shea Whitney does for all of us. I appreciate her opinion I think she is well informed and again it is her opinion you can take it or you can leave it - I think she does wonderful work and I am so appreciative!
Love your honesty about your past acne skin and scarring. Look at your skin now though!

oh and Fyi on a whim I bought the Maybelline great lash mascara Big from Amazon the other day and was really surprised by the applicator brush...it is much bigger and much better than the original. I actually really like it.
Hello Shea,
Wanted to share: you can pop regular popcorn (1/4 cup) in a paper lunch sack(bag) for 2 minutes in the microwave. Then add whatever toppings you like (melted butter, ghee, salt, brwers yeast, etc).
Simple enough for children to make as well.
Thanks for your love and support ❤️❤️

Paper Bag Popcorn Method:
Step One: Measure 1/4 cup popcorn kernels into a lunchbox-sized paper bag.

I’m loving DP hue root touch up! So much better than the other ones for my hair’s health!
I love my glass microwave popcorn maker. It was a gift, and I no longer use microwave popcorn in the bags.
Great video Shea. The almond milk is very convenient but the truth is it has just a small % of almond.
I completely agree with the mascaras!!! That old thing is so hyped and so gross and just bad. But I use the sky high and I love it!!
Agree with the ones I've tried. Also the MSG hype/myth was debunked a decade ago. Also can you link the studies about aluminum harm from deodorant? Thanks!
Mate you used the internet to type this comment, can't you look it up yourself? lol

I am sooo tired of the fear mongering!! There is so much misinformation about antiperspirants being marketed right now to push people towards "natural" or "clean" deodorants.
4) Lots of natural deodorants contain essential oils which, despite being marketed as anti-bacterial, are impure and often contain compounds that oxidize & degrade, ultimately mixing with your sweat to intensify odors (not to mention essential oils are known irritants)

Tubing mascara is the only kind that works for me.
Proactive worked for me, but it's pricey. Started using birth control pills, and all my acne cleared up. Now I'm over 40 so I don't break out so bad, but retinols and peels help too.
For the fridge organizers, just line it with Bounty or fridge liners. :)

My whole family (husband & kids) just pat baking soda (aluminum free) under our arms . Been using that for over 20 yrs now

Thank you so much for talking about the Crystal Deodorant. I have been using the liquid form of this for years thinking I was doing something good and safe.
