I'm positive that I've understood enlightenment from an intellectual perspective but I haven't gotten the direct experience of oneness and I know that's still okay because it's impossible for "me" to experience it and transcend the mind so I'm just going to let everything be

Hi Teja, I wonder what your thoughts are on near death experiences. They are fairly consistent in a number of denominators, and many people say that they get a deep insight and experience into oneness, including being able to feel other soul's/people's feelings, for example during their life review, yet they are able to retain their sense of self, so to speak. Would you say that the dream continues into other realms in some shape or form? None of them feel like they've dissolved into nothingness, even though they experience an overwhelming feeling of unity and love.
I don't think you can put Tony Parsons in the same category as Ramana Maharishi. Ramana Maharishi was a real and proven enlightened person because no one could ever possibly fake what he did by just sitting for his entire life with no attachments whatsoever. I would liken Tony Parsons as a self help guru as well as many other online gurus started their industry on the internet selling enlightenment. A truly awakened person does not accept money or turn their teachings into a business. Truly enlightened people only show up in into public view on very rare occasions. Ramana himself did not seek fame. He was sitting in different locations around Arunchala in actual caves at times not seeking any attention from the world.

Seeing, hearing, thoughts arise without effort. But not from “nothing or no thing.” As does Consciousness. Perhaps it arises from any complex brain. I don’t know. But I cannot conclude it arises from nothing. I cannot say what it is, IMHO.

If everyone/everything is illusion (non-duality,) what separate entity can love another entity (duality?) How can you say, “Everything is an illusion,” and then talk about one illusion, loving, or not loving, another? You just went right back into duality. Illusions cannot make choices… To love, or not love. That’s why they’re called illusions.
