- Draw on top of your slide in PowerPoint and use the replay as part of your animation sequence!
Ink replay and rewind is finally here in PowerPoint 365 - you can draw text or graphics on your screen, then replay the letters or strokes as part of an animation sequence. Opens up tons of creative possibilities, from handwritten text or whiteboard animation effects - to images coming to life one stroke at a time.
Check it out and see what you can do!

Always worth the wait!
Best PowerPoint tutorials online and the explanation is clear and so helpful.
Thank you so much for sharing.
I so enjoy the way you explain things!! Thanks for taking the time to share with us! :)
This is great! Thank you!
wonderful tips, learn a lot, thank you, awesome!
Thank you for watching!! Glad it was useful!
This video is colorful like the rainbow. 🌈 Thanks a lot ! 🙏
Haha thanks, Kemal! Love PowerPoint’s glitter rainbow pens too for that :).
Well presented. Clear instruction. Good demo and examples. Very helpful tips. Thanks a lot.
Super - glad you enjoyed and found it useful, LongTimeTTFan! Appreciate the comment.
Great tip!
I wil definitely use it and may be a lot in order to give some life and humanize my presentations
Excellent - yes a perfect way to do so! It’s also great in combination with the wiggly text effect I mentioned here. Thanks for the comment!
Cool. It was very helpful. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the comment ! (I’m just now catching up!). Glad it was useful.
Hello Lia. Great video! I'm the Program Manager at Microsoft who designed this feature. You can change the order of stroke playback by using the Selection Pane. The ink strokes replay in the order that they are positioned in the selection pane. This will help if you need to erase some strokes and redraw. You can then move those newly drawn strokes to be in the correct order. Thanks!
Hi Mark - appreciate the comment (and especially the fact that you've created this awesome feature!) - so glad you enjoyed the video! That's a really great tip - thank you! Hmmm for some reason, my light rays saved as one ink object for me (so I cannot reorder the strokes in the selection pane). This is also visible in the "Ink 8" object in the animation pane in the video. I'm happy to send you my full file too in case something may be going wacky on my end.
@@powerpointspice Thanks for letting me know. The ink is supposed to group but we have improved the grouping support for ink in PowerPoint -- if everything works correct all ink is shown as normal groups and objects (you would be able to ungroup them for example). This should be rolled out at the same level as ink replay. Are you on Office Insiders channel perhaps? If you can also provide the Office version as well that would help. Feel free to reply here or at markri at microsoft.com
well your program is not complete no replay buttons in the animations pane lots of people have problems with this
@@thefeltingcritterbarn2299 That is unfortunate to hear that folks are having problems. You do need a M365 subscription to author ink replay in PowerPoint. You also need to be on Office build 16.0.12026.20000 or later (or use an insiders build)
@@madmrmax i have 365 office but do not know how to get office build i must say i do like office 365 very good
Oh wow! You are back!
Didn't know that.
Thanks!! Yes I sometimes get busy with work but always have stuff in my head I’m trying to get out on video :).
This is great information.
Thanks, Jennifer! So glad it was helpful.
Cool thanks.
You’re quite welcome! Thanks for commenting.
Congratz!
Thanks!!
Nice video and information.
Thanks, Tech Marathi & Hindi - glad you enjoyed, and love the super speedy comment!
@@powerpointspice mam,I watch your videos all the time, and I make all my videos in powerpoint. So your videos are always a guide 4 me.
Great to hear! So happy the tutorials have been useful. This technique actually works very well for animated video - and particularly for whiteboard style explainer videos.
great
Thank you!!
Great. Is there any other software which can do this?
Thanks, But I don't have a draw tab in Powerpoint 2016. I just have the Pen tab. Which version do you use?
Hi, I would love to do this in my presentations, I can draw on a slide no problem and press "ink replay" under the draw tab which works fine, however in the animations tab there is no option like yours to replay, even with the drawing selected (there is only "None", "Appear"...etc) I have looked everywhere for a solution and have checked I'm updated on the latest version of office 365. PLEASE HELP :,(
Same problem here ....if u find any problem solving plz help me
I had the same problem. You must connect the stylus to the pc to see the option
I have office 365 but I don't have the animation " replay " should I activate from somewhere?
Have you tried to create an ink object? It typically appears when you have it.
Hello! Are the full Draw features only in windows or only accessible using a surface device? A stylus? I dont see all of the tools such as ruler...
Should be on all windows devices using office 365 ... and Mac too (but might be on insider for mac
mine is 365 when i open contact support, 2019 when i open account, and i absolutely sure that i dont have ink replay :(😞😞
I’m sorry to hear that! It should work in 365. You do need to have an inked object clicked on in order for it to show up.
Is the feature available in powerpoint 2019?
yes it is
Tell me about view code I saw it in PowerPoint recently 😊
I don't really mess with coding VBA in PowerPoint, but the #2 tip in this video has activeX controls: ua-cam.com/video/r_v3ygqDRas/v-deo.html
When are making new videos?
I just made a couple of new ones! :)
I was try that, its really good... But i can't show replay and rewind button in animation menu... How to show thats, please!
Do you have PowerPoint 365?
@@powerpointspice yes, office 365
Try joining the windows insider program - if it’s not there, it may not have rolled out fully to your area yet insider.windows.com/en-us/
@@powerpointspice can you help me to copy customize ribbon of your powerpoint option
File > Option > Costumize Ribbon > Import/Export > Export all customizations
And send me the file here, i can copy your option by import costumization file
I had to update my version of office 365 to get this new feature. Thanks for the video.
