I'm a law daddy main and me and my best friend talk about this alot when we play forhonor we talk about how law daddy is a sentient suit of armor especially mine cause we gave him a back story ahahha
The new armor is taken from Apollyon, so that's why it looks weird on LB. The lore is that she took her armor from a LB and reforged it to fit her, where in game wise, they took it from Apollyon and made it for the LB. So that might explain its odd appearance
I think every hero should get a "real" set of armor, and the lore behind it could be that each faction had advanced technologically and their most elite warriors now have better armor to prepare for war.
It because the cataclysm at the start of the game set them back to almost the Stone Age. Can’t develop technology when everyone’s dead and you’re constantly fighting
@@elijahlovejoy5438 You'd actually develop alot of war tech just to win. What I see them doing however is struggle to have resources at any given time, seeing how they almost always sabotage cities, that one forge map or breach into fortresses that most likely hold supplies
it's possible that at this stage of the war which is over 20 years already, the resources to support the frontlines would start to dwindle and, by my assumption, the warriors become scavengers, notably because when you find armor and weapons in the game you are told that you found them on the aftermath of the battlefield I would expect that the warriors have not received any proper education on sustaining their gear which would explain why there is so much rust on most of their armor
Assuming you find armor off corpses, that'd make lots of sense actually and explains why higher rep armor is better quality, because you're rising in rank and can afford better gear
The neck protection was also used to deflect arrows away from the face when they hit the chest piece because they do bounce upwards towards the neck/face sometimes.
Plot twist: For Honor takes place in the future of humanoid hybrids roleplaying as ancient people, they just don't really know what they're doing except for that one guy.
Thank you Dani now I know to make my lawbringer look. Could you make a part 2 with execution analysis and his combat kit, Thanks and great lawbriger fashion, nobody appreciates the good old Iron
The leg protection is something I've had come up from time to time when looking over armor in anime-styled games. It's *extremely* common for them to have virtually no armor beyond faulds (and those are often relegated to buttplate or tiny hip guards) from between the knees to the diaphragm, but I've frequently had people tell me that thigh protection, maile skirts, armored kilts, etc. are perfectly normal to not have at all. As mentioned in your Warden video, there were maile suits split in the middle for riders and the people I speak to about usually reference cavalry armor. The characters I'm talking about typically have far bigger issues, but that lack of thigh protection seems to be an exceedingly common thing in video game armor, even ones with a touch of realism. It's an odd thing and I'm constantly wondering if it has any basis.
6:17, technically, pikes are still used a lot to protect the gunmen from cavalry charge. While gunpowder renders medieval type fortification obsolete (wooden and stone walls), the open field strategy largely remains the same, only with archers being replaced by gunpowder weapons which was very inaccurate and took long to reload up to the 17th century. A cavalry can keep their distance and swoop in at the opportune moment to wipe out the gunmen, unless pikemen are guarding the gunmen. The formation was called pike and shot formation. Also swords were still in use on battlefield by infantry although only on special occasions. The german landsknecht would use the zweinhander, but i think this is only used by select few.

Having eyeslits/ventilation doesn't compromise too much, it gives better vision while still giving a ridiculous amount of protection. Otherwise you run into the same problem as the Dheneb, where you have insane coverage but little sight.
I think that lb's armor is closer to that of 15th century armor like German gothic and white Italian styles. LB's Dheneb variant helmets look like sallets to me with different visors.
I disagree on calling the helmets burgonets, the visor looks like one, but the skull makes it quite clearly a sallet, closest visually would be a bellows sallet
