- Many people visit Taipei, Taiwan as their 1st and top choice of destination. Did you also know that there are many other cities scattered throughout the island country that are absolutely worth visiting?
During our 6 week trip to Asia, we spent a lot of time in Taiwan so we decided to explore other parts of the island and the major port city of Kaohsiung was definitely a place we added to our list of destinations.
The city is very unique in that it offers visitors an experience of excellent dining from various street food markets to fine dining as well as many popular artistical and historic attractions.
In this video, explore everything we did and virtually eat with us at some of the popular places we decided to dine at during the 2 days we were here as well as take a daytrip with us out to the old mountain village of Fengqihu along the Alishan Forrest Railway before our arrival to Kaohsiung!

Hi Jeff, I am traveling to Kaohsiung in a couple of weeks and I was curious about your excellent drone footage. Was it particularly difficult getting permission to fly at some of these places or was it more just fly and hope that no one calls you out? I wanted to bring mine, but I don't know if it's worth the risk getting fined, especially if it's not registered.
I had checked Taiwan laws before arriving and my understanding is registration isn’t required currently and the drone I used is under 250g as well. The DJI app also lets you know if the area you are trying to take off in is a restricted area which cannot bypass or an additional authorization required area. There are some common / good flying practice rules they want you to follow though which you might already be aware of. Hope this helps!
@@fomoyolotravel thank you!! :)
The way he pronounces kao xiong infuriates me. He keeps saying kao song kao song kao song. It’s KAO XIONG
Wow you get infuriated very easily and it ain’t good for your mental health. Instead of being a hater on pronunciation, maybe just appreciate the fact that someone, a foreigner, is actually sharing with the public how beautiful this city in Taiwan is 🤙🏽. If you can’t handle it, go ahead and make sure to smash that “Dislike” button. It doesn’t bother me
@@fomoyolotravel I’m watching the Taiwan breakfast episode now
