I think the airpods are one of the best apple products ever put out there. Theyre so simple to use and as you said, no wires and the way you can just use one is simply liberating. I am extremely happy with them even though $160 is a lot of money, I don't regret buying them one bit.
asnallar If you’re wearing both of them then yes taking out would pause whatever you’re listening to. You could simply put that AirPod in the case and press play and it would continue playing only from one AirPod. You can tap the AirPod to pause and play as well. This is great because if one runs out of battery you can just switch and use the other one while the first charges! It’s just super convenient I almost always just have one of them on at a time
You can’t even control next or last track! Or fast forward.. hell mainly, can’t even control volume up or down! Apple is great at mixing innovative or very “sleek” ideas, like what y’all are talking about how it automatically stops to talk to someone when you remove an AirPod. But...then they leave out lots of seemingly essential features. Headphone jack? I mean, I go back, let’s not even go to FireWire 400, 800, usb b, thunderbolt, thunderbolt 2...all gone within a couple years. Watch they will probably say these are obsolete and won’t work with iPhone 11. Heh
That's a bad analogy I think because in the case of the AirPods Apple just uses Bluetooth which is a standard across the board. Plus these things work with any device, iOS or Android. As for the controls, maybe Apple wasn't capable of fitting an actual touch pad that can detect touches and swipes at the time in such a small space. If that's the case there isn't any other way I can see that they would be able to implement these control features while maintaining truly wireless earbuds.

I freakin' _love_ my AirPods. This is what technology should be like, no fuss, no mess, works first time, every time. I am the sort of person who struggles with wires (I've watched other people nonchalantly jamming their EarPods into their pockets and I know if I were to do that, it would take me half an hour to untangle them the next time), so AirPods are a boon. I love the way they snap home into their little case, which then charges them. They still keep on transmitting even quite a long way from my 'phone and they don't have to be in line of sight. Yes, there are some conceivable improvements: the case is prone to becoming a little scuffed, both the AirPods and their case could come in other colours to match your 'phone or whatever, the sound is good but there are other headphones that would work better for audiophiles. On the other hand, the sorts of headphones that would make audiophiles happy tend to be a lot larger and more expensive.
The reason AirPods sound a bit better than EarPods is because the AirPods have their own amp built into them. EarPods rely on the power of the device they are connected to since they’re analog. I’ve been using AirPods for a few months now, and I do not regret buying them one bit :)
Jeeze, it's just hard plastic. A quick wipe with alcohol or less and you're good to go. It's not like they're in-ears you stick in which I'd understand.
Just got mine like 3 days ago and I can't tell you how much I love them. Going to kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, anywhere around my house is so much fun now. I usually watch soccer and don't wanna miss a thing, so these have been a great life saver when I have to leave my room during the game. Worth the money, they will really amaze you. I bought mine a few days ago and so far find them rather convenient. Made the last part of an unboxing video using them for the audio and it's interesting comparing the sound from them vs something like a Yeti mic. Hoping they work out long term, but as with any product, time will tell.
Fair enough with the ‘I was wrong’ angle but... what’s sad is SO many people criticised AirPods initially without any critical thinking on their part. It seems like the Apple hating crowd is more sheep like than the fans! The amount of people saying “they look ridiculous” was astounding; they look almost identical to EarPods which everyone is happy with, the absence of a wire can’t make them look bad, it’s a nonsensical argument. But people repeated it ad infinitum.
I love the Airpods basically because they are the only wireless headphones out there that don't actually completely disconnect you or block the sounds around you compared to the ones that have gels on and plug your ear in a way that even your own voice sounds deep and canned and other sounds sound muffled. I don´t particularly blast my music in my ears while out on the streets but what I love is that I can still hear people talking to me or noises around; especially in situations when cranes are falling or cars are running over people, crazy people are stabbing everyone, etc
+akshaye anand - Yeah, Very much!They totally were molded to fit perfectly on your concha, tragus, and anti-tragus. Apple should come up with a smaller and bigger size of these for people who have different conchas; like come in 3 sizes, you know.

Vinh Dang My dad went to Best Buy twice already to get me them as a Christmas present, they were sold out both times he went, each visit a month apart😭. The nearest Apple store to me is almost an hour away.
Joe Mama My son tried my AirPods for work out at his gym. He was sold. He like the fact no wires involved at all and stay in his ears the whole time. He ordered some same day. I was surprised he liked them. He was impressed and my other son had the beats and he was impressed with my AirPods also.

I have the beets and the AirPods. The AirPods are much better as far as convenience and ease of use. Sound quality for music air pods are not as good but when walking on the beach and all the noise from the waves, callers hear me better with the AirPods. Much happier with my pods. Put the beets away for use when strictly listening to music at home. And I still have them put awy because the AirPods are great

Had the BeatsX, returned them and got these instead. The overall experience is night and day. The AirPods are far superior in day to day use and frankly when you get a proper seal in the ear canal, sound better than the BeatsX. Amazon sells plenty of wingtip accessories for them too.

Bought these for my wife and she absolutely loves them! She can’t stop talking about them and how I’m the best husband ever. Haha! I then bought myself a pair and have been quite pleased with them. I was one of those ppl who hated the design look (still don’t love the look, but based on a lot of other options that I investigated they’re a good option for business & personal use). I finally got so worn down & tired of using the reg Apple EarPods & the cord getting caught on EVERYTHING I finally bit the bullet of conformity and chose the most least busy day ever when I figured no one would be shopping to go buy them (because I had heard that they’re always out of stock). The store was eerily empty and they were in stock so I bought them. They’re fine, I can’t say I love them but they get the job done...they do what they do LOL😁.
What if you don’t keep them in your case. Say you run to the store and you take them out and put them in your pocket. Will they turn off and save battery life if you turn off Bluetooth?

I just got air pods last week they have fell out of my ear but I bought the ear cover to go over them oh fell out at gym with cover over them they have fallen out I love them great sound clean sound very good very impressed with them they are loud enough for this 48 year old
Finally someone that actually tried them and the performance changed his view. These AirPods are really really good. Couple them with the app for the iphone called equalizer and they open up even more. The sound blows away the EarPods and they fit comfortably in the ear.
I am a plantronics guy and looks at these airpods as gimmick. Well i got this for christmas and I tell you, my plantronics is going to collect dust for now.
Picked up my first apple desktop back during the 1990's. So, my example is with a vintage laptop. A few year's ago needed to buy an old laptop that still had a built-in 56k modem because, I was often asked to watch an elderly relative and their home had no internet service and only a telephone land line. Went on E-bay and got a 12 inch 1.5 GHz G4 laptop, but a decade earlier when these were new, I liked the 17 inch model but thought the 12 inch version was a joke. However, after using one I found out that the smaller size is just right for me. My only two cons are that the keyboard does not light up in the dark like the 15 inch and 17 inch model (which for myself is not a big deal) and if, I plug in a mouse it is on the left side of the laptop and I am right handed. So, when I want to use a mouse, I just go wireless using a USB toggle mouse or a blue-tooth mouse.
Hi Vinh, i can totally relate to what you are saying. I also had major reservations about the airpods. But after trying them out for a month now, I realized that they are really actually quite intuitive and very well thought out in terms of ease of use and design. Kudos on a great review!
The battery is impressive but they look too dorky. I'm looking into getting the Jaybird Run. I value sound isolation so these are a bust for me in multiple ways.

Had mine for a month. Love them. Use them everyday. Love them because no wires period!! Quality sound is good to me. I’m impressed. My son borrowed them to use them at his work out gym. He loved them. He bought some. 😊👍
The technology is good but they are not quite there yet, for instance it's not possible to have connected to many devices at the same time so u have to switch either sound source in mac or airplay on iphone which quite annoying, they should be connected all the time and switching audio source depending on the input. Plus they have TERRIBLE noise isolation, had them for a week and i commute a lot, it was impossible to enjoy the music because of metro sound or the streets, that's my biggest down side for these. I'm waiting for the second gen to see if they gonna solve this issue..
I thought the Apple Watch was a big gimmick! So I let the first 2 series pass. Then about a month ago I purchased the Apple Watch series 3 Nike+ and I must say I am totally addicted to this thing, it's by far the best iPhone accessory for my lifestyle, I'm constantly traveling on about 3 flights a week, I use it to track and board the plane, Starbucks, Apple Pay, downloaded music, phone calls- the reason why I'm looking to get the air pods! After watching your video I'm without a doubt going to purchase them I think the airpods in conjunction with the Apple watch will take me to the next level- great video
Totally worth it. I added some cheap-o foam covers for EarPods (from the other A behemoth) and they fit and feel much better. The good news is that they still fit in the case too! Best addition to my AirPods. I use them as my dailies and use QC35s for travel. If your on the fence, give them a shot. Can always return them if you don’t like them.
Well as an audio file, my regular listening has always been from the Sennheiser HD 800 S and for portable use, I use the shore SE 846 in ear monitors. I picked a pair of AirPods up three months back and they spoil you for ease of use, now they have become my 70% use case scenario, the others are just downtime. Sounds pretty okay because they’re open it’s very easy to use them in the work environment without any problems, and the sound quality is good but not brilliant and definitely more than adequate. If you are in the Apple ecosystem definitely advised they work seamlessly with all the devices. If not, there are some other ones that might be better suited
Mine only last about 3 months need to take my 3rd pair in get new ones. The sound quality and volume loss is severe every 3-4 months. I listen @ 50% when they are new.
The iPhone X was a product I thought was dumb. 4 weeks later, I cannot see an easier to use phone and it’s operation is exceptional smooth and flows into my life and habit extremely well.
Amazing product that I unfairly considered expensive and expendable. I bought it about a month ago and now I think it is the best disruptive Apple product since the first iphone. All the features together (simplicity, battery life, portability, seamless connectivity among all my Apple devices, etc), I don't think there is any other better than this.

I liked the AirPods from the beginning. I bought them, I love them. I use them on my MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch. Simple. Magic.

They have slightly better bass because of the built in amps. They are my favorite earbuds.

Finally someone that actually tried them and the performance changed his view. These AirPods are really really good. Couple them with the app for the iphone called equalizer and they open up even more. The sound blows away the EarPods and they fit comfortably in the ear.

I loved my airpods and have had them for about 3 months but damn does that interior casing get dirty.

I am a plantronics guy and looks at these airpods as gimmick. Well i got this for christmas and I tell you, my plantronics is going to collect dust for now.
In the Bluetooth menu you can change the tap gestures to pause music and skip forward or backward per AirPod
If you lose your Airpods then it‘s not the Airpods‘ fault. You lost them because you weren‘t careful enough

Picked up my first apple desktop back during the 1990's. So, my example is with a vintage laptop. A few year's ago needed to buy an old laptop that still had a built-in 56k modem because, I was often asked to watch an elderly relative and their home had no internet service and only a telephone land line. Went on E-bay and got a 12 inch 1.5 GHz G4 laptop, but a decade earlier when these were new, I liked the 17 inch model but thought the 12 inch version was a joke.
However, after using one I found out that the smaller size is just right for me. My only two cons are that the keyboard does not light up in the dark like the 15 inch and 17 inch model (which for myself is not a big deal) and if, I plug in a mouse it is on the left side of the laptop and I am right handed. So, when I want to use a mouse, I just go wireless using a USB toggle mouse or a blue-tooth mouse.

Hi Vinh, i can totally relate to what you are saying. I also had major reservations about the airpods. But after trying them out for a month now, I realized that they are really actually quite intuitive and very well thought out in terms of ease of use and design. Kudos on a great review!

Had mine for a month. Love them. Use them everyday. Love them because no wires period!! Quality sound is good to me. I’m impressed. My son borrowed them to use them at his work out gym. He loved them. He bought some. 😊👍
The technology is good but they are not quite there yet, for instance it's not possible to have connected to many devices at the same time so u have to switch either sound source in mac or airplay on iphone which quite annoying, they should be connected all the time and switching audio source depending on the input. Plus they have TERRIBLE noise isolation, had them for a week and i commute a lot, it was impossible to enjoy the music because of metro sound or the streets, that's my biggest down side for these. I'm waiting for the second gen to see if they gonna solve this issue..

I thought the Apple Watch was a big gimmick! So I let the first 2 series pass. Then about a month ago I purchased the Apple Watch series 3 Nike+ and I must say I am totally addicted to this thing, it's by far the best iPhone accessory for my lifestyle, I'm constantly traveling on about 3 flights a week, I use it to track and board the plane, Starbucks, Apple Pay, downloaded music, phone calls- the reason why I'm looking to get the air pods! After watching your video I'm without a doubt going to purchase them I think the airpods in conjunction with the Apple watch will take me to the next level- great video
Also one ear more is godlike. Just leave the other pod in the case. You can also share with people by giving them the other pod.

Totally worth it. I added some cheap-o foam covers for EarPods (from the other A behemoth) and they fit and feel much better. The good news is that they still fit in the case too! Best addition to my AirPods. I use them as my dailies and use QC35s for travel. If your on the fence, give them a shot. Can always return them if you don’t like them.
Well as an audio file, my regular listening has always been from the Sennheiser HD 800 S and for portable use, I use the shore SE 846 in ear monitors.
I picked a pair of AirPods up three months back and they spoil you for ease of use, now they have become my 70% use case scenario, the others are just downtime.
Sounds pretty okay because they’re open it’s very easy to use them in the work environment without any problems, and the sound quality is good but not brilliant and definitely more than adequate.
If you are in the Apple ecosystem definitely advised they work seamlessly with all the devices. If not, there are some other ones that might be better suited

Mine only last about 3 months need to take my 3rd pair in get new ones. The sound quality and volume loss is severe every 3-4 months. I listen @ 50% when they are new.

Amazing product that I unfairly considered expensive and expendable. I bought it about a month ago and now I think it is the best disruptive Apple product since the first iphone. All the features together (simplicity, battery life, portability, seamless connectivity among all my Apple devices, etc), I don't think there is any other better than this.
I actually thought iPhones were garbage until I tried them out. There's nothing flashy, nothing super amazing about them. They just work.
