Your home and garden are so lovely. unlike many house owners, you didn't modernize this place; you brought life to it. I bet the ecosystem there is thankful.
Again, joining this late. Kevin, is there anything you can not do? You are a true Renaissance Man! The Boxwood Garden is incredible. Here in the high Mt desert of Nevada at 5,000 feet, very hard to grow things. I'm going to see if the Witch Hazel will grow here. It's a battle with so many bunny rabbits, even if in a green house that is elevated, they will find their way in. We have snowshoe hares & cotton tails who are not bothered by the dogs. Oh, your harden is the perfect place to set up cello & harp to play Debussy in Monet's garden.❤
One of the joys of UA-cam is that there is so much to discover. So glad I found your channel Kevin; I am catching up on all the gardening videos first LOL, then I will watch the cooking. Thanks for sharing your world!
You are a true artist, Kevin! What a transformation you have made in and out of your home. You have created so much beauty!🌤 Thank you for lots of inspiration and wonderful ideas!💜💜💜
As a new follower to your videos, it is so much fun to see the progress you have made on your historic home. I say this project was daunting but that is a gross understatement. How wonderful that you worked for Garden Design, and had great knowledge or access to it, about gardens. Nonetheless, the design of your boxwood is completely you and so enviable in every way. And, oh my, you must be thrilled, by now, with the changes you have wrought throughout the landscape. It is truly a thing of beauty.
Kevin, years ago an elderly friend gave me this anonymous poem to celebrate our purchase of a 1924 Craftsman House in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It is more than apt for you and your beautiful home. He who loves an old house Can never love in vain For how can any old house That's felt the sun and rain The lilac and the larkspur The trees that arch above Fail to give its answer to the Heart that gives its love.
Thank you for inspiring me with your lovely gardens. Your side comments about the reality of gardening are so delightful,. You have a positive humor. I look forward to each video you whare. I restored a 1902 house in Minnesota that had no grass left, the yard was brown packed dirt. 6 passes with the roto tiller, and much smoothing with a rake yielded a base. I hauled many loads of manur, seeded with northern climate grass seed, and the result was a lovely city lot full of grass which I bordered with peonie bushes. Did you know that ants live in peony blossoms? Imagine a formal luncheon for the Archbishop with ants crawling out of the vases and onto the table during his blessing!
As an avid 79 year old gardener, it is so rewarding to hear of another senior who loves to work outside. I am struck by the park like setting Kevin has built, and the way it flows around the house. And, you are right, the work must be intense.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ABSOLUTELY. LOVED THE MAGNIFICENT GARDEN YOU HAVE CREATED THANK YOU FOR SHARING. YOUR CHANNEL IS SOOOO PEACEFUL AND ENJOYABLE. SCOTT'S WIFE VICKIE
I have a little fantasy of a couple of dwarf apple trees at the edges of your beautiful boxwood garden. Your "wedding crabs" would be fantastic pollinating partners. You might adore the study and practice of breeding heritage/heirloom apples, grafting, etc., and the pursuit would fit well with your property restoration. Thank you for the lovely tour.
Dear Mr Jacob, My mother loved gardening, her garden was gorgeous. Mother did not have a green thumb, no, she had green hands. But since her passing, a year and 8 months ago, I have grieved heavily and let it all become overgrown. Maybe, I will remove the ground vines and have totally covered the patio. Her roses have perished, too. 2024 will be the year, I recreate her once lovely garden. Thank you for this lovely tour of your garden. Sincerely, Miss e.
Thank you for this video! I have watched it twice now and love as much the second time viewing it as I did the first time. You have such a lovely home. I love the architecture of it and the gardens and landscaping are simply dreamy. I bet you have lots of friends asking to use the gardens as a place for weddings. How wonderful that would be! Thank you again! ☺❤🙏
Looking back at your old videos 👍🏼 Your garden reminds me so much of The Huntington Botanical Gardens here in the Pasadena area. I’m a sustaining member and find so much peace there.
I LOVE YOUR GARDEN! I wish I had more room at my place to garden. I competely remodeled the front and back yard, and made it very nice, but I like your walking garden A LOT
What a beautiful garden!! It is magical. Magical. I like how you have different gardens. I like how you used shrubs and trees for privacy. So nice. It must be a lot of work maintaining it but it is worth it.
Kevin…allow me to say that you are a very likeable and interesting person and have such a positive influence on your viewers. Having watched all your videos which I only discovered lately I wish to thank you for sharing such beauty with us.Be well and keep going strong.Love from Greece.
I was actually researching for dance steps when I saw a cottage garden video. after I watched that cottage garden I saw another video with the name "Kevin Lee Jacobs" and I wondered if this is the same Kevin Lee Jacobs (zone 5) I was following years ago on African violets. OMG its you alright. I was so happy to have watched this video. While I liked reading your blog (esp on how you turned that parking space into a beautiful geometric boxwood garden), seeing it on video was so awesome. beyond spectacular! nice to see you here. anyway, am off to watch your video on your herb garden. PS. thanks for the tip on mildew on zinnias. will definitely try it this year on my zinnias!
Thanks you a lot for all the beautiful suggestions. I'm moving in July on a 200 years old house and i had need a lot of goods ideas for the garden, the lawn etc. So, you inspired me lot! ❤😊 Have a good day and I hope see you soon on a other video. ❤ Geneviève du Québec.
Splendid tour and host. Your delight in creation of the gardens is just as charming as they. I love your self-deprecating and teachable qualities, always a new wonder to behold. As I write, we too are melting in Virginia with heat indices of 106- F. When it's this hot the tomatoes stop blooming but continue to grow, making branches for a bumper fall crop. I like the green velcro you use as ties for them; it disappears in the vines. I use pantyhose, which also blend-in. The look from the clerk at Dollar Store when I come to the counter with several packs of "Bubblin' Brown Sugar" queen-size is worth far more than the the dollar each of the pair. If the look should become a glare, I just murmur, " Have a job tonight," and give 'em that 'entre-nous' wink. You know, satyrs have not disappeared just because the majority of people no longer believe in them. Apostates. I'm sure your gardens have at the very least two living in them. I've found the best time to glimpse mine is dusk, when the very air is violescent and suddenly you feel a slight frisson and turn and catch him just as he darts away. Please make more vids soon! Mike
Wow! You are a natural! Great tour hosting. I’m so glad I found your channel. Your property is so vast, you’re not even out of breath walking all of your wonderful gardens. Thanks for sharing your plants, I plan to order thuje green giant and Red Jade... Austin Rose, thanks for introducing them. I’m into edible garden, herbs, Hugelkultur type of beds and raised beds. I like fruit trees as well. I might start adding some climbing roses. Anyway, I’m enjoying all your informative and beautiful videos while I’m gardening. God bless you & yours.
So very much fun to stroll with you in your amazing gardens, Kevin. Having watched and learned pictorially how you've constructed many of your gardens, the video was a wonderful way to tie them together on the property. Thank you!!!
Absolutely stunning property - I love what you’ve done- the boxwoods, blue stone and a beautiful pool (so very few pools are not unattractive in my opinion). Thanks for sharing this.
I loved the video tour! I've been following you for years, and have seen many pictures of the individual gardens, but it was so nice to see how they all fit together. I look forward to a house tour some other time.
What a lovely piece of property! You've done a remarkable job in design and layout. I live how you transformed the hill. IMO, all hills should be transformed into a terraced garden. 😁 I'd love to see your gardens in bloom, if only as an intro or outro focused on a particular variety. I have a yard that's basically a flat, clean pallet except for what I've planted so far, which isn't much and some needs to be relocated because of other upcoming projects.
Hi Kevin, I watch you all the time your videos come out. I happen to come across this one and I was so amazed. You should give an update on it. I loved it so much. I love all your videos. I love your gardens so much. I am not so fortunate to have what you have but I still am working on it. Keep up the good work. I also love all the food you make.
They are lovely gardens. I was curious to how many acres you have. I have been working on a 7 acres garden plot for ten years now. It started out as a farm field when we purchased the 100 acre plot. I do hope some day mine can be as gorgeous as yours. Thanks for the wonderful tour.
Oh to be a woodland creature gambolling about In your lovely gardens! Beautiful tour. I've always wanted a long lap pool with a magnificent statue of Poseidon at the end.
Lovely and very large gardens! I believe that you said that you propagated the Boxwoods. Would you please show how you propagate the Boxwood hedges? I would love that. In fact, a propagation video would be wonderful. Oh to be in a place with ground that loves to grow things! Texas is not one of them in the western half. I lived in NJ and Delaware and those places would grow anything. You have worked so hard and everything is so lovely-even the kitchen garden! I loved the tour.
You are so creative! A wonderful wandering forest scape. No French tarragon? Make tarragon vinegar to splash on your fresh sliced tomatoes. Tip: buy the plant, I haven’t found packaged seeds which taste true, when plucked. Lovely feathery plants. Making for my children’s gifts. (And wine jellies) Have a safe, happy holidays, cheers!
Kevin I love your garden. I recently discovered your UA-cam channel an you are amazing! I am going back and reviewing your garden episodes for information and inspiration! IT’s garden season in TN! I have been traveling UK. I have gardened all my 61 years. I visited many many gardens in UK of course Kew. Came back liked around wondering where all the flowers are!! US gardens , with exceptions, just don’t do it for me. Blessings!

What a secluded paradise garden!
You are a true artist, Kevin! What a transformation you have made in and out of your home. You have created so much beauty!🌤 Thank you for lots of inspiration and wonderful ideas!💜💜💜
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for the tour of your garden. I enjoyed the “secret” paths and tunnels you made from branches of trees.
As a new follower to your videos, it is so much fun to see the progress you have made on your historic home. I say this project was daunting but that is a gross understatement. You have created a world of your own in your beautiful gardens. Really enjoyed seeing how your creative ideas are thriving and bring you happiness.
What a beautiful home, what a beautiful garden. Every turn brings a surprise. I love ❤️ everything! 😊

That’s a beautiful poem. You just made me reconsider the sale of my 1860’s home.💐
Beautiful poem.

Beautiful gardens. As an 83 year old gardener I know just how much work goes into developing and maintaining such a natural garden landscape. 💕
As an avid 79 year old gardener, it is so rewarding to hear of another senior who loves to work outside. I am struck by the park like setting Kevin has built, and the way it flows around the house. And, you are right, the work must be intense.
Преклоняюсь перед Вами всеми!🙏
How utterly extraordinary! You have quite a knack for landscaping. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. What a joy it was to see it all!

What a gorgeous garden. It’s hard to believe you’ve planted so much yourself. It must take a lot of pruning and hard work to keep it so lovely.
amazing!!! this guy motivation, creativity and energy is not from this world!!
This was so interesting. And I love your afternoon teas. Thank you for bringing elegance and history to us.

Kevin, I love your gardens! I'm surprised, however, that you have no bee hives so you can harvest your own honey.
Thoroughly enjoyed! Please make more garden videos ~ Especially enjoyed hearing about why you chose certain things, like the statuary around the pool.
You really do have a truly wonderful home and equally delightful garden.
