Glad that you covered the expansion. I've been resistant with A New Dawn because of the hyper-abstracted conflict. I think this change works for me now.
I think you describe the industrial zone incorrectly. You say "within 2 spaces of your industrial zone" for the location of the city instead of "within 2 spaces of a friendly space" ~11:12 timestamp
You look just enough like horror director Eli Roth that I feel uneasy watching your videos, anticipating some random gory event to happen at any moment. Thanks!
I get compared to a lot of white guys with dark hair, but that's a new one. Don't worry, I'm not gonna throw in any body horror. Closest thing I've come to scary movie territory was the intro to my Dead of Winter tutorial, but even then I couldn't resist ending on a joke.
Amazing video as always, but I have a question, will you do a video for war of the ring expansions? I’m planning to buy lords of middle earth expansion and I have searched UA-cam for good tutorial videos on it, but your channel is the best one. (Sorry if I made some grammar mistakes. English isn’t my first language.)
Definitely a different, better game with the expansion. It's a pity this game lost people's interest after the base game, because with the expansion is top notch!
Great video I have a question though, can Caravans or the army collect the resources by moving onto them or resources can only be collected by building control tokens on the top? if so would that mean that resources can be only collected if the city is built next to it because the control token can only be placed next to the city, is this correct? Also, does a new city have to be built on the place you have an army or caravan, or does it only need to be 2 spaces from friendly space?
Resources are still only connected by placing control tokens on top, but advanced culture cards let you place tokens more than just adjacent to your cities. Building cities is similar, each card will have different requirements for where you can build. So the first industry card lets you build two spaces away from a friendly space (ie has a control token or city on it), whereas the second industry card lets you build within 3 spaces or adjacent to a friendly caravan. Armies don't come into the equation unless the card specifically says so.
The rulebook is worded a little oddly, I'll admit. But because it is clear about replacing a level 1 focus card (if your unique is level 1) it follows that you would do the same for the others. There doesn't seem much reason you wouldn't replace them anyway, as the unique cards are all pretty good.
Great video =) not really a fan of this game but the way you put it together is nice and neat.. it also funny if in the context that your Civilization switches governments haphazardly (Communist > Democratic > Monarchy > Communist) again and again to gain advantage of the placements. Anyway, cool informative teach.
Hey there! I love your videos, your TI 4th edition got me hooked on board games. If you're a fan of Civ and PC gaming in general, you should checkout my band WASD. We do metal covers of PC game music. We have cover from Quake, Secret of Monkey Island, Space Quest 3, and of course Baba Yetu. Now our cover of Baba Yetu isn't out yet, but follow us on bandcamp cuz we got a new album on the horizon. We also have songs on UA-cam, some music videos and live performances. Thanks for another great video. Here's the bandcamp link: wasdband.bandcamp.com/album/shift

It's definitely better with the expansion. Hope you like it!
You’re really good at teaching tutorials. I’ve learned several games from you including war of the ring and now this. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!
So good! Thank you so much. This looks like an essential expansion
Glad you liked it! And yeah, this expansion definitely improved the game a lot for me.
We liked the game before, but liked what this added. It does add a bit more complexity and length, but i think its worth it.
It's an essential expansion. The base game is just a normal (good) game. The expansion makes it SO much better
Thanks for watching! Did you notice something I got wrong or missed? Comment here and add a timestamp so I can fix it in the subtitles.

@@emrysaurelianus1071 Ah, quite right! I'll add a note.
I don't think you mentioned that you can only explore from a tile containing a capital city
@@alexthorne6996 It goes by kinda quick, but I do mention that they do this from the edge of a capital city map tile.
@@RTFMfair enough! Sorry I missed it!

Wow this expansion seems great
Hello there! Dunno if you’ll see this, but is there a maximum number of spaces you can explore? Or could you use up the entire map tile pile?
There's no maximum, so you can use up the whole pile if you want.

nooooooooooooooooooooo
Just kidding but overall very good video

Oh I didn't realize you did an expansion video tnx
Love the Voltron shirt
Do the government advantages apply to terrain type
Yep. You get everything you'd gain from the card being 1-2 spaces farther to the right.
I don't think you have to replace the card in your tech deck with the faction specific one, I think its just an option? The rules aren't clear
The rulebook is worded a little oddly, I'll admit. But because it is clear about replacing a level 1 focus card (if your unique is level 1) it follows that you would do the same for the others. There doesn't seem much reason you wouldn't replace them anyway, as the unique cards are all pretty good.
7 base game but with this it's a 9
Can you get the expansion without buying the base game?
Unfortunately no. You need the base game to play the expansion.

wait what? This isn't the playstation game

Hey, this is pretty cool! Metal isn't really my genre, but these are impressive nonetheless. Good stuff!
