Just found your channel. Love the content. You definitely deserve more subs and views.
Thank you for saying that :) I actually hear that a lot, so there must be something to it! Glad that you're enjoying the content.
💯🎮😊🏆🏝📺
Growing up we didn’t have the funds to get everything like the rich kid up the block, the favorites were the couple games we had and played over and over again. Donkey Kong country, nhl 94, sonic 2, Mario 3 & Mario 64.
There's something kind of nice and simple about only having a handful of games and playing the heck out of 'em.
I'm calling it, this channel's gonna blow up. It definitely deserves to. Great content and quality my guy.
I appreciate that!
Yeah... I find myself thoroughly fascinated by the subjects and overall content on these videos. I am glad I found this channel. Over the last few years I have started wondering if there was something wrong with me, since I often feel like newer games are... missing... something. I just can't point it out, but it is there. And yet, I feel fun and immersion when replaying old classics.
This guy tends to nail my thoughts and feelings perfectly, and points out literally *exactly* why I feel the way I do. And I'm glad it is not only not just me--but literally just about everything he says seems to match up to the way I was raised and handle my own consoles and cartridges/discs. My feelings toward my games are literally explained *perfectly* by him.
Great channel--I'm on a binge and I currently just can't get enough of your videos. :)
@@UltraZelda64 Thank you Jeffrey! Great minds think alike I suppose!
Just now discovering Retro Bird, but I think we viewers all share the same sentiments. Retro Bird just seems like he is “every man” and understands how most of us were raised. He captures our childhood and seems like an old friend reminiscing, while approaching the subject matter in the present tense of being a husband and dad.
Dude. The 2 Power Stone games. Absolutely the most fun I ever had with four dudes crowded around a CRT.
Of the console's I've played most:
NES - Mega Man 2
SNES - TMNT Turtles in Time
Playstation - Twisted Metal 2
N64 - OOT, GoldenEye, Conker's BFD, Goemon's Great Adventure
GameCube - Super Monkey Ball
You're speaking my language with Super Monkey Ball.
Username checks out
Excellent
Yay! Another Twisted Metal fan. What a fun game! I played that for HOURS! I started off as the clown with the ice cream truck, but then switched to the undertaker with the purple hearse. Nobody could touch me in that game. Once I figured out how to time the exploding ghosts, I dominated. What a blast! Man I miss that game!
Great list!
Mine is:
Nes super mario bros 3
Snes link to the past
Genesis streets of rage 2
Playstation twisted metal 2 (we need a good remake/remaster of this and part 1)
Gamecube resident evil 4
I love many games nobody else seems to like but I don't care, they make me happy every time I decide to go back.
That's all that matters!
Which games ??
NES has to be Mario 3, SNES I agree with you on Donkey Kong Country for the same reasons, PS1 Resident Evil 2, the 1st game I purchased with my own $ when I purchased a PS1 back in the day. Such memories! Dreamcast gotta be Shenmue. Cheers again Retro Bird! My nickname since I was a kid is Birdy so It's good to see another winged retro gamer!!
hahah power to the birds!
Honestly, the art style of rocket knight adventures is what lured me in.
Rocket Knight Adventures is an underrated gem. I have to thank one my childhood friends for introducing me to the game and it blew my socks off as a kid! Konami really pulled out all the stops on the Genesis.
It is funny that when the game was localized to other regions, the difficulty settings got a bit jumbled (for example Japan's Normal is Europe's Easy and the U.S. Easy difficulty is the Hard mode in other regions. It is kind of weird.
DKC was the first videogame I saw that made my jaw drop. The graphics and sound was above anything I saw on the snes at that time. You nailed the explanation about why it's your favourite and I feel exactly the same
The Mystical Ninja was better.
Ps1- formula One first one 96. Hasn't aged well obviously but I played it again lately and the gameplay was even better than I remembered. Which doesn't happen often with retro games. Very addictive.
Ps2- smugglers run- couch co-op contraband mode. Spent hours and hours with it quite intense actually. When you have a friend sitting right beside you.
Snes- donkey Kong country all 3 of them neighbourhood friend had a snes we rented them several weekends in a row we were up all hours of the morning with them. Lucky I lived across the road so was always 50 metres from home. Good times. Those cart levels kicked our ass but we ended up finishing them all.
Megadrive- NBA jam. Nothing else to say really.
Dreamcast- i was so stoked to get one. I didn't know anyone else at the time that had one. Even back then it felt like a forgotten console at least from my perspective back then. But soul calibur wow I remember just letting the demo play of the single fighter just doing there moves was gorgeous. Oh and remember having loads of fun with dynamite cop.
Found your channel today and love it so far!
Welcome to the channel! Glad to have ya :)
When my brother told me that he found this channel of this guy that likes Rocket Knight Adventures more than I do. I was like this is false. He was right , you flipping love this game. I did wait 3 years to finally do a video review the game though. I did not want to give this perfect game a disservice. Great selection of games over all. I never played Power Stone 1 as I played Power Stone 2 first. I'll have to give it a shot seeing as it plays so different.
Hahaha it's just such a solid choice! Glad that you like it too :)
Ok let's do this.
Atari 2600: Missile Command. Used to play the heck out of this game.
NES: Super Mario Bros. Could have said Super Mario Bros. 3, but playing the original is my first memory. Playing in the dark, running over the bridge with Cheep Cheeps jumping at me.
Sega Master System: Only played a few Master System gamesr, but Phantasy Star for sure. I love this game. It's my favorite 8-bit RPG. I can play the Ages version on my Switch and it still completely transports me. The graphics, the sound, the story, the characters, the gameplay. It all works so beautifully.
Super Nintendo: Almost said Earthbound but I'll say The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I was too young to play this game, so my older stepsister played and I mostly watched. This game that really made an impact and I understood games are more than just simple fun. I remember poring over the manual, reading the lore over and over. My stepsister wasn't very good at Zelda, unfortunately, so she never finished it. It's secrets remained hidden from me for years and that made a big impact on me as well.
Sega Genesis: Phantasy Star IV. Pretty much the same as Zelda. I played the opening bits of all three of these, too young to really progress but just in awe of the potential and secrets I knew were there but was unable to unlock.
Sony Playstation: Final Fantasy VIII. This is the first RPG I *was* old enough to progress through. Still blows me away to this day. I first got a Pizza Hut demo disc with it, then had to rush out and get the full game.
Nintendo 64: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The first Zelda game I completed, splitting the duties with my cousin. Felt even more real than LttP.
Sega Dreamcast: Phantasy Star Online. So far this is the only MMO I've ever really messed with. I had a character based on Vincent from Final Fantasy VII. I've only traded in a few games that I regret, and this is one of them. Man what a mistake.
Sony Playstation 2: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Still blown away by the ever-growing crescendo of reality-warping postmodernism in this one.
Nintendo GameCube: Metroid Prime. Could say the second one just as well but puzzling through this game was kind of the culmination of the journey that started with Link to the Past then continued with Phantasy Star and Ocarina in terms of games just being huge worlds, filled with secrets.
Good list!
Yes! Atari 2600 Missile Command was an awesome game!
Well your clearly an RPG guy
Favourite console will always be the Super Nintendo. I still remember the Christmas my mom and dad rented, yes rented a Super Nintendo console with super Mario world and I just could not believe what I was seeing on the tv screen. They eventually bought us our own console. Super Mario world is just so good and still holds up %100 to this day.
Renting consoles was a thing back then. I remember. Not common, but definitely existed. Cool stuff :)
Oh we rented all the time. Friday night, rented a VCR and 2 movies. A console and 2 games. I can still hook up any retro system in like 20 seconds. Reach under/behind the TV with cords in hand, feel the inputs with 3 fingers, plug it in with thumb and index. Lickity split! 🙂
Great news, Ocarina of Time is my favorite N64 game and I happen to also enjoy bananas! LOL
On a serious note, I'll say my favorite of each console (that I'm most familiar with)
NES: Kirbys Adventure
SNES: Kirby Super Star
Genesis: Columns
PS1: Soul Blade
N64: Ovarian of Time
Gamecube: Super Smash Bros Melee
PS2: Soulcalibur III
That's what I like to hear! hahah
i love powerstone, i had it at the same time as the first smash bros and me and my friends would switch between them. it's really a series that deserves to come back, it's pure fun.
Interesting list man. I remember getting Resident Evil 2 in my easter basket in 5th grade thanks to my dad. About a week after having it my mom saw me playing it and freaked out and threw it away because she said it was too evil . That was the only time I got anything besides candy in my easter basket 😆.
Phantasy star IV. My favourite Genesis game. Tales of Symphonia on the GC. Chrono Trigger for SNES. Banjo kazooie for N64.
Also, 94 was a great year! I was born that year!
snes tales of phantasy best.terranigma ❤
PS1 and PS2 - Japanese Cave shoot em ups! Too many on the other consoles!
Haha there are SO many Cave shoot 'em ups.
rondo of blood hype!!!! U got good taste in games brother
It's a great game!
NES - Super Mario Bros 3
SNES - Super Metroid
N64 - Super Mario 64
Game Boy Advance - Metroid: Zero Mission
GameCube - Metroid Prime
Wii - Super Mario Galaxy 2
3DS - Metroid: Samus Returns
Wii U - Super Mario 3D World
Switch - Bowser's Fury
You may notice a trend

Atari 2600- Atlantis
NES- Mario Bros 3
Genesis- Sonic 2
SNES- Chrono Trigger ( so close for Mario World)
Game Boy- Mario Land 1
N64- Mario Kart 64
GameCube- Tales Of Symphonia
Glad you enjoyed the video and that's a really fun set of games you chose!
NES: Jekyll and Hyde
SNES: Shaq Fu

PS1: Mike Tyson's Boxing
PC: Duke Nukem Forever
I see what's going on here haha :)
"We have such sights to show you" - Pinhead
First of all - Love your channel, you're a lot of fun and the videos are well edited. Just subbed. :)
Second - Good list! A couple of predictable items like OoT (totally fine), but some interesting choices too.
Third - Here's mine!!..
NES - Super Mario Bros. Yep. First game I ever played, was about 4 years old at a family friend's place. I still melt at the soundtrack, nostalgia overload.
SNES - Super Metroid. Even today the atmosphere and music holds up. Aside from the annoying as hell quicksand/water navigation, this to me is 16-bit perfection and I've implored all the gamers I meet to try it if they haven't.
Genesis - Aladdin. Ridiculously fun game that is understandably overshadowed by countless other Sega titles. But the level design is consistently engaging and thought out, along with killer animations and soundtrack. They couldn't have done a better job bring this classic film to life in a video game, I just adore it.
PS1 - Vagrant Story. Not just my favourite game on PS1, but also my most cherished of all. Sakimoto is a genius and the music in this game still sends chills in me when I replay this masterpiece for the umpteenth time. It also has an amazing story and, in my view, the most impactful combat of any system up to that point, toppled later by Devil May Cry on PS2. That is a hill I will die on, I honestly believe Vagrant Story is the peak of game design for rpgs, and even video games in general.
N64 - Banjo Kazooie. It's hilarious, it doesn't take itself seriously, it's big, and it is some of the most fun I've ever had in a Nintendo game. And Switch Online may be getting it in the future, yay!!
Gamecube - Mario Kart Double Dash. Out of all the multiplayer games I've ever played, I've had the best memories with this one. Double Dash is still my favourite kart racing game on Nintendo and have so many fond memories spending my spare hours during High School with friends blasting eachother in Baby Park. Only Halo compares when it comes to playing with my friends.
PS2 - Shadow Of The Colossus. The experience. Just the experience.
Gameboy - Pokemon Red.
Gameboy Advance - Zelda: Minish Cap.
Wow that was actually pretty hard. I see now what you mean by changing one's mind down the road. But as it stands, this is my list :D
1 fave per console 😬 its already hard picking top 20 or hell top 10
hahaha
Yeah you're right, every time there's a game i want to play and it's really good, there's alway another one that it is it's own style of game even in the same genre type of game.
Like for instance, cartridge #4 is the best one but, you know, there's just that a time where i want to play a different one with a different kind of feel instead of playing the same thing over and over and it can be repetitive.
Yeah, you definitely want to switch things up a little bit.
NES-Original Castlevania / SNES-College Slam / GameBoy-Super Mario Land / PS1-Twisted Metal (Now a TV Show!) / GB Color-Pokemon Puzzle Challenge
Game Cube-Monkey Ball / GB Advance-Crazy Taxi / N64-Mario Kart 64 / Wii-Punch Out / 3DS-Mario Kart 7 / Switch-Shantae
DKC will always hold the trophy for my favorite video game. You're right- it's just the vibe. The music, level variation, etc make that game
Gameboy advanced fav is "dragonball advanced" it's a side scrolling beat em up and a fighting game all in one
I found this vid by reading comments of your newest vid & you posted this link...Yeah I agree with you on the Nes & Snes. Both awesome games.
Yeah, those games are some of my go-to games for sure.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood on Switch is my personal favorite, currently. It’s a true arcade style gem. With Arcane and Machine Game’s visual style I think you’d like it. Especially if you enjoyed Rocket Knight’s punchy Eurocentric aesthetic! You _go fast!_ It’s nuts!
Great Stuff, as always!
I'll start with Sega Master System and while I'm just getting into it, I feel like I've played enough to pick Wonder Boy the Dragon's Trap as my early leader. For NES, I'm having a hard time picking between Zelda and Mario 3 but if I could only play one I would pick Zelda. Genesis is another tough call but it's Gun Star Heroes just edging out Beyond Oasis and Aladdin. On the TurboGrafx 16, I also pick Rondo of Blood with kudos to Blazing Lazers and Neutopia. Metal Slug is an easy winner for Neo Geo and to just pick one I think I'd go with Metal Slug X. For SNES, A Link to the Past beats out Super Metroid. On Playstation, Castlevania Symphony of the Night wins easily and the only other game I had to consider was FFVII. Xbox is the last system I really played and Halo is an another easy winner there.
Thank for the fun video Retro Bird!
Gunstar Heroes is so much fun. I agree with you there.
Wow this is tough. I think I'd go with:
NES - Super Mario Bros 1
Famicom Disk System - Yume Koujou Doki Doki Panic
PC Engine - Ninja Spirit
Game Boy - Battletoads
Genesis - Mickey Mouse and the Castle of Illusion
SNES - Chrono Trigger
PC Engine CD - Castlevania Rondo of Blood
PS1 - Castlevania Symphony of the Night
N64 - Zelda Ocarina of Time
Saturn - Princess Crown
Dreamcast - Shenmue
Wonder Swan - Final Fantasy I
PS2 - Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne
XBox - GTA Vice City
Gamecube - Zelda Wind Waker
NES - Earthbound Beginning
SNES - DK Country
PSX - Spyro the Dragon
N64 - Banjo Kazooie
Genesis - Pirates of Dark Water
GBA - Golden Sun
I asked myself the impossible question so here is what i came up with, without overthinking it
NES - Crisis Force
MS - Phantasy Star
PCE - Gunhed
SNES - Chrono Trigger
MD - Battle Mania Daiginjou
SAT - Galactic Attack
PS1 - Grandia
hahaha good job powering through!
Lots of good shooters there. I love Galactic Attack.
Hey are you a shooter guy? Check out Demon Attack on the Intellivision. Yeah, it's a very early game, and you'll see everything it has to offer within 20 mins, but I think shooter fans should should check it.
I’m binging you videos because I’ve needed a shot of positive vibes for a long time. I appreciate you and the work you do putting positive vibes into the world! Thank you
I love this channel. 🎮✨
Every day I watch as many episodes of Retro Bird as I can. At work, in the shower, while driving, at Grandpa's funeral. 😅
I admit - I am intrigued how you are showering while driving, and why you're being paid for it. Also: Sorry for your loss.
Atari 2600 - Frogs & Flies
NES - Super Mario Bros 3
Genesis - RiStar
Gameboy - Tetris
SNES - Super Mario RPG
PS1 - Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete
Saturn - Guardian Heroes
N64 - Super Mario 64
GBA - Zelda: Minish Cap
DC - NFL Blitz 2001
PS2 - SSX Tricky
DS - Picross 3D
Xbox - Halo 2
Xbox 360 - Halo Reach
3DS - Zelda: Link Between Worlds
Wii - Xenoblade Chronicles
PS3 - Last of Us
WiiU - Xenoblade Chronicles X
That's a great list. For me I'd have to say:
NES: Castlevania 2 Simon's Quest. I played the Hell out of it when it originally came out and was the second video, after Mario 1, that I actually beat. I have a tradition of playing through it in one run around Halloween. If not for that Mike Tyson's Punch Out would be it but that one is a very, very close second followed by a very close 3rd with Batman.
Master System: Rastan!
Turbografx 16: Splatterhouse
Turbo CD: Castlevania Rondo of Blood
Sega Genesis: Shining Force
Sega CD: Lunar The Silver Star (the intro music alone wins)
Super Nintendo: Zelda A Link To The Past
N64: Zelda Ocarina of Time
Sega Saturn: Panzer Dragoon Saga
Playstation: Castlevania Symphony of the Night (My favorite game ever)
Dreamcast: Skies of Arcadia (I have a Skies of Arcadia magnet I got on Etsy on my refrigerator)
Gamecube: Super Monkey Ball
NES- Super Mario 3
Genesis- Streets of Rage 2
SNES- Link to the Past
Ps1- Final Doom
Saturn- Panzer Dragoon
N-64- Ocarina of Time
Dreamcast- House of the Dead 2
Turbo- Rondo of Blood
NeoGeo- Windjammers
Gamecube- Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
Gameboy- Super Mario Land 2
Gameboy Advance- Fire Emblem Sacred Stones
OK, I loved Rocket Night Adventures, so we are friends for life.
Interesting choices, Retro Bird, and I can get on board with most of them.
Here's a few of mine:
Master System: Sonic the Hedgehog
Mega Drive: Sonic 3 & Knuckles
SNES: Yoshi's Island
Saturn: Panzer Dragoon Saga
PS1: Resident Evil 2

N64 : Majora's Mask
Genesis : Toejam & Earl
PS1 : Crash 1
Dreamcast : Armada - A real hidden Gem if you ask me
Gamecube : Luigi's mansion

Gamecube - Super Smash Bros Melee or Phantasy Star Online.
PS1 - The Legend of Dragoon
PS2 - We Love Katamari
Genesis - Monster World 4
Dreamcast - Sword of the Berserk
That’s all I got for you. You make me want to try out Rocket Knight Adventures.
Man that’s a hard question to answer. Hmmmmm I’ll come back with my selections. Ok Snes Super Castlevania IV, NES- Batman, sega....hmmm unsure I do love some sonic 1 as cliche as that is. Maybe Tazmania.... Turbo Grafx bonks adventure or blazing lazers
NES Batman I've always felt was a bit underrated. Really good game.
@@RetroBirdGaming that is 1a Castlevania is 1b
@@NESADDICT I knew you'd pick Batman for the NES! Interesting to see you talk about TG16, I didn't know you had experience with that system.
@@FeralInferno my experience is minimal. I have the TG mini and I have the console with 2 games. Keith Courage and Bonks adventure. So it’s limited.
Great list. We have a lot of common ground I see 😄!!. I also wouldn’t be able to choose my favorite Saturn game, maybe by genre!
Also, great channel and vibe. You are what I envision when I imagine a happy gamer hehe.
...an interesting vid for sure, I never thought about using other people's favorites as game recommendations. Now for the list:
7800 - Mario Bros
NES - Mega Man 2
SMS - Kung Fu Kid
Genesis - Sonic 3 + Sonic & Knuckles
SNES - Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Neo Geo - Garou: Mark of the Wolves
Saturn - I can't make a choice here 😅
PSX- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Dreamcast - Skies of Arcadia
GameCube - Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
PS2 - God of War
XBOX - Knights of the Old Republic
Looks like we enjoy a lot of the same games :) It seems like almost everyone has mentioned Link to the Past for SNES, and well-deserved.
Great video, you deserve much more subscribers.
All of these systems are older than I am, so I have not played a ton of games for some of them. With that said, here are my picks.
NES - Mega Man 3
SNES - EarthBound
Gameboy - Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land
N64 - Super Mario 64
GBA - WarioWare Inc.
GameCube - Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
Turbografx-16 - Air Zonk
Genesis - Gunstar Heroes
Game Gear - Sonic Triple Trouble
Saturn - Sonic R (The only Saturn game I've played)
Dreamcast - Sonic Adventure
PS1 - PaRappa the Rapper
Great video man! Loved it! As far as retro consoles go I would go with Mega Man 2 and 3 for the NES, Chrono Trigger for the SNES (DKC2 is right there too.), and Chrono Cross for the PS1.
My favorites list:
Snes: X-Men: mutant apocalypse
The death and return of Superman, and Batman Returns
Switch: Power Rangers battle for the grid
DS: Iron man 2
3ds: Resident Evil: Revalations, Street fighter 4 Ultimate
Ps Vita: Mortal Kombat 9, Injustice Gods among us.
I love me some Batman Returns on SNES.
Ok....
1. Banana's are a way of life for me.
2. The Mega Man X trilogy & Donkey Kong trilogy are my favorite snes games.
3. Resident Evil 2 is my favorite game of all time. So you sir got me with that bait-and-switch.

PCECD - Gradius II
PS1 - Breath of Fire IV
N64 - Ocarina of Time
Neo Geo - Metal Slug X

Gamecube - Wind Waker
PS2 - Capcom vs SNK 2
Gameboy - Link's Awakening
GBC - Oracle of Ages
GBA - Metroid Zero Mission
NDS - Final Fantasy IV
Game Gear - Ax Battler
Arcade - X-Men
Very thorough. I can appreciate that :) Interesting to see you have FF VI over FF IV but it makes sense. You love both of 'em.
@@RetroBirdGaming Haha, yeah I thought you may pickup on that. The SNES versions are so close to call for me. Plus I didn't want to duplicate my entries with FF IV being in the top NDS spot, so that helped give FF VI the edge.
My favorite NES games are definitely Zelda and Metroid. They're classics for a reason.
Genesis - Rocket Knight Adventures, without a doubt. Vectorman too, but whenever I booted up the genesis I was doing it for RKA. (Guess we're best friends now!)
For SNES, it's really hard to choose as there are so many good games. Yoshi's Island, Super Metroid, Final Fantasy 6, and I can't choose between the DKC games either, they're all really excellent. If I had to choose ONE game on the SNES library, I'd have to go with Yoshi's Island - 100%ing it is another story though.
N64 - Majora's Mask, without a doubt. Honorable mentions being Mischief Makers, OoT, and Yoshi's Story.
PS1 - Crash Bandicoot 2 is hands down my favorite game on PSX without a single doubt, there's no confusion there for me. I don't own RE3, but I have RE1 and 2 and they're definitely great picks for favorites.
Gamecube - Metroid Prime. It's the reason I even bother with Gamecube sometimes, it's just so good and I own the unpatched version so it lets me do cool speedrunner tricks like scan-dashing. Honorable mention would be Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, I replayed that one a lot as it's just a lot of fun.
Gameboy - Links Awakening DX, great fun. Honorable mentions would be Donkey Kong '94 and Metroid II.
GBA - Metroid: Zero Mission! That game is fantastic and great to replay, whether it be trying to beat it faster or trying to do it out of it's "intended" sequence. Honorable mention would be Mother 3, that game made me cry.
There are some of my favorites, long comment but you practically asked for it. :)
Seeing other people who love Rocket Knight really makes me happy!
@@RetroBirdGaming What's not to love? The music is fantastic and the game is super fun. Really challenging too if you bump up the difficulty, but I could never beat it on hard.
Great topic! My picks: Nes -SMB3, Snes Link to the past, N64 - Mario64, Sega - Gunstar Heroes, Ps1- THPS2
I've seen a lot of people picking the same games as you :)
I knew RetroBird and I were BFFS! My favorite game of all time is SMB3!
My favorites list:
ATARI 2600 -> Adventure
NES -> Kirby's Adventure
SNES -> Secret of Evermore
Game Boy -> The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening DX
Sega Genesis -> Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (best when paired with Sonic & Knuckles)
Sega CD -> Sonic CD
Sega Saturn -> Mystaria: The realms of lore
Playstation -> Monster Rancher
Ok, here are mine: NES: Batman, Snes: Cant choose between Super Metroid, Doremi Fantasy, Rendering Ranger R2 and Earthbound, N64: Paper Mario or F-Zero X, Gamecube: Ikaruga, Gameboy: Castlevania 2, GBA: Mother 3, Sega Megadrive: Batman, Sega Saturn: Radiant Silvergun, PS1: Resident Evil 2, PS2: Silent Hill 2, PS3: Dark Souls.
That's quite the list. We like a lot of the same games.
I didn't tell you my fav games. Genesis golden axe 🪓, ps1 duke nukem, dreamcast RE code veronica, What you think
Golden Axe is the only one of those I've played and I like it. Code Veronica is one that I intend to play at some point though.
Here’s my list:
Game Boy - Pokémon Blue, Dragon Warrior Monsters, Super Mario Land 2
GBA - Advance Wars
Dreamcast - Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2
GCN - Pikmin, Super Mario Sunshine
Also, I’m shocked you like AW2 over 1! Great call on Power Stone though. That is a game I’m shocked has not had a revival, or at the very least a character in Marvel vs Capcom. Man I miss the days of playing Dreamcast.
With Advance Wars, 1 and 2 are pretty close for me. Yeah, I think Power Stone could do really well nowadays. Super Smash Bros. has remained crazy popular and Power Stone offers a similar kind of appeal in the gameplay department. Come on Capcom!
One for each console is tough, but I'll bite.
Atari 2600-Warlords
Atari Jaguar-Doom
Jaguar CD-Braindead 13
Intellivision-Turbo
Arcadia 2001-Breakaway
NES-Zelda II
SNES-Earthbound
N64-Super Mario 64

Metal Slug 1 is not my favorite Neo Geo title (it's in my top 4 Neo Geo games however), but I totally agree on the straightforwardness of it. My favorite in the series.
Some of my favourite games/consoles I’ve now discovered were hated or panned by critics at the time. But because they were the only thing I had as a kid they were greatest thing ever. Looking at you Atari Lynx Scrap Yard Dog or literally any game on the Game Gear (T2 the arcade game, shouldn’t work on a handle held. And didn’t, to be honest but I still love it)
ok limiting myself to the consoles that you have selected/mentioned and excluding ones that I have never owned, my favorites are:
NES: Super Mario Bros.
SNES: Street Fighter 2 Turbo

Nes - Super Mario 3 and Megaman 4. SNES - A Link to the past and Super Metroid. Genesis - Beyond Oasis and Gun Star Heroes. N64- Ocarina of Time. PlayStation - Twisted Metal 2, Resident Evil 2, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2.
Lots of people have been bringing up Super Metroid and Link to the Past.

Saturn: don't have one
Nintendo 64: don't have one

PlayStation 2: Final Fantasy X
GameCube: Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Xbox: Shenmue II
PSP: Ridge Racer
PS Vita: Uncharted: Golden Abyss
This is hard to choose, but I guess my favorite classics would be the following:
NES: Super Mario Bros 3. It was a huge adventure filled with secrets. It was probably the NES game I got the most mileage out of.
Genesis: Sonic 2. I played this game a ton and I still enjoy it now. It is smooth, colorful, fast and just a great sequel all around. Sonic 3 & Knuckles is good too, but you need two games for the full adventure. 😋
SNES: Tetris Attack. I could replay this puzzle game for ages. It is easy to learn, but hard to master. It has fun game mechanics, good graphics and a very nice soundtrack.
PS1: Castlevania Symphony of the Night. This is a fantastic game on all fronts. Exploring Dracula's Castle is very fun. It also features some amazing graphics as well as a beautiful soundtrack.
N64: Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask. I loved Ocarina of Time, but Majora's Mask has a very unique atmosphere for the Zelda series that I really enjoy. It definitely isn't for everyone, but it puts a fun spin on the foundation Ocarina of Time set.
GameCube: Pikmin 2. It mixes the formula with the addition of caves, which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea. I feel like this is a love it or hate it kind of game, but once you get the hang of it, it can be pretty fun. There are some wild surprises in this game as well.
NES - Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!
SNES - Super Mario World
N64 - Goldeneye 007
GameCube - Pikmin
Wii - Super Mario Galaxy
Game Boy - Kirby's Dream Land
GBC - The Legend Of Zelda: Oracle Of Seasons

DS - Rhythm Heaven
PS1 - Metal Gear Solid
PS2 - Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Xbox - Halo 2
Genesis - Streets Of Rage II
Dreamcast - Jet Grind Radio
Lot of good stuff there. I especially like the choice of Superstar Saga.
