My feeling when I know exactly when and where that first ring target came from 😁
Great vid. My personal preference is to initially scout a site in A (all metal), if it's a park I'll usually end up in F (1-10 turned off), beach I'll stay in all. If it's a really lazy goldie hunt I might discriminate further but given that gold generally registers on the lower end of the scale, sometimes it's worth the pain of hearing dozens of signals just to find that one decent stable sounding target. 😁
Agreed, the location and energy levels play the biggest role in how we use discrimination too 😂

That rectangular pull tab at the start is 27 on the meter 23-26 gets around the tab
That's great because an area we have that a late 1800s store just be is littered with soda & beer cans.There is so much aluminum from the large mower going over it we call it can slaw and had to move on.Thank you

Great video, I've found a lot of nice rings on the beach, fewer on land but with the expanded I'd range on the latest detectors its possible to notch out a certain pull tab and dig less trash. Yes it's possible to miss a ring that had the same I'd but it's more likely you dug many more good targets in the same amount of time. Look at it like this...how many times have you dug a ring that read the exact I'd as the pull tab your rejecting? Aluminum pull tabs have a more sharp signal pattern than gold. Gold has a more broad signal pattern. Good luck and hh

I'm thinking about doing a special Coin descrimination setup for the dry sand on my beach here. Can pulleys come almost always with 28, bottle caps have 34-36 and foil at 11 (or anything else...). For a quick run on coins it could be a value since beaches are highly trashed here...

The tab you show is 27 on the legend meter with the 1.11

I just received my legend last week. One thing I don't like is the all black buttons. I am sure once I learn them I will know just by there position.
I’m same eyes are bad anyway so have to stop get glasses out etc. pain

In 1985, with the new Whites Eagle... We could wave a bottle cap over the coil and the computer would notch it out. Same with pull tabs and the detector would still hit coins and rings.
Unless we were in all metal mode we lost some of our max target depth.
The new ARM CORTEX microchips will usher in the erra of AI based fuzzy logic where the detector learns alongside the detector operator which targets to accept and which targets to reject as its being used.
It could also tell you the target may be a ring and it could also be a pull tab with a higher probability the target is a ring. So we dig it and then tell the computer which one it was.
Unfortunatly gold is extreemly simular to brass, lead and iron... so in the gold field there are now and always will be limits to our ability to seperate gold from the junk targets.
11 is the latest firmware or will there be more ?

Filtering out those tiny pieces of foil can be a game changer in some places.
You can always switch back to All Metal Mode with a single press of the horse shoe if you wan to detect everything again. 😃
That was a very good video try discrimination pattern F recovery speed 2 Deep 6 in trash with the LG 24 or LG 15 coil audio gain 4 and 20 khz 6 tones threshold 3 Ferrous check 4 noise cancel 1 sensitivity 20-25 adjust swing speed to the area you are in fine tune with sensitivity the rest factory presets. Have you heard of the deep tech Vista X with dual discrimination superior depth well worth looking into this is my number 1rig
I dig almost every thing 40 plus yrs ago their was no vdi probley on some of the first white’s machines during the 90s one I was using an old Garett TR vdi what was that was sound alone
I first started on a Garrett Groundhog VLF/TR discriminate machine. I was able to run disc up to 8 and find dimes next to cyclone fences and playground equipment that were discriminated out. I swear I found more with that unit then anything since. I never used the meter except for battery testing. If it wasn't the most wrist killing, machine I ever used, I might still use one!
Great video I use custom as shown minus 1-10 & I’ve had pull tabs ring up at 27,31-32 bottle caps 37,45,11 generally if numbers dancing sound not crisp ,I’ll dig it but guaranteed it’s bottle cap pulltab dancing numbers then I hit a gold ring solid sound 29-30 .the last chunky silver ring rang at 53😲I was curious & bingo can’t share my whole custom settings we’ll need cone of silence 😂😂

Seems you have slightley differnt numbers than me anyways xD I think they differ a bit if you switch from dry to wet. I often use wet... (well I guess you are hunting the beaches...)
Isn’t it something that the fcc turned down the power that old detector created to much interference with printed boards needing less then unit is not so heavy having 6 as batteries

If you're discriminating against pull taps then you are leaving some of the best finds in the ground.
Wouldn't you be discriminating ring with the pull tabs?

@@user-lv8nh2tx2t I went straight from 1.05 to 1.11, its definitly better now, I never tried 1.09 to compare, but soon they will be releasing the boost mode to get deeper relics, so that will be neat and possibly worth upgrading for

I believe that on analogue detectors this did have an impact on performance.
These days the detectors still recognise the discriminated targets but simply mute them 👍
The accuracy of target ID is less at depths so technically you may not get a response if you have more discrimination set.

The discrimination button may as well not exist for me I run all metal every time
If I think there is a bottle cap around something good I want to hear it and dig it up
Also in canada our modern coins ring up low as they are made of steel, but the thing is half the time they are in garbage condition
