I usually like the differences from the book in the show but making ether was SO dangerous in the books. Claire was in a garden shed making it and scared to death she may die. They totally ignored that major aspect from the books. Then they have her using it as a crutch? This is out of character and I'm curious to know what Diana Gabaldon says about it.
Bree wasn't gang raped and beaten to a pulp. Plus, Claire endured an endless amount of trauma since being a front line nurse in WWII and never got a moment to process, cope and heal until now. Hope her arc allows her to finally solve it an move on. She's the most interesting character in this show. She's Outlander.
