ALL THE THINGS YOU ARE You are the promised kiss of springtime That makes the lonely winter seem long You are the breathless hush of evening That trembles on the brink of a lovely song You are the angel glow That lights a star The dearest things I know Are what you are Someday My happy arms will hold you And someday I'll know that moment divine When all the things you are, ARE MINE
Although I am now 75 , I wasn't old enough to fully appreciate the remarkable voice of Tony Martin. Warm , velvet , wonderful control and range. Really remarkable. Thanks to UA-cam , I was able to compare Jerome Kern's wonderful " All the things You Are " sung by many great singers with Tony Martin's rendition. None compare. His is by far the best. PERFECT .Thank you for this.
Tony Martin , You are: the finest voice singing popular songs of your generation. I can't believe I grew up without realizing what an incredible voice you have and the wonderful performances.
Very well said, Paul. Its a shame more people didn't know of him. Very few if any - could touch his fabulous vocal range and power. It was also unfortunate that in the few Hollywood movies of the 50's he was in - they didn't let him showcase his singing a little more. There are fortunately a few gems that did show what he could do, though, luckily. Stunningly handsome, an amazing voice, very pleasant actor - what more could you ask for!
@Thunder Beast Reminds me of a conversation I had with my wife yesterday. My son was watching Happy Feet 2 on TV . The baby penguin was singing a song to the music of E lucevan le stelle. Tosca. G. Puccini. ua-cam.com/video/jQPL3K0pGQw/v-deo.html . I said if you really like this aria , please listen to Placido Domingo singing E Lucevan le stelle . I played it for her on UA-cam. She said , I still like the movie version.
Tony Martin had the greatest pure singing voice I've ever heard. His version of Make Believe from this same movie is just incredible. Only Eddie Fisher was an all around better singer.
Eddie Fisher had a wonderful voice, the problem is the songs of the 50s; they were terrible. How can Any Time be compared to All the Things You Are, and such.
Any Time is a fine song, but not a classic like this. However if you think Eddie did not sing songs such as this you are very wrong. Just search right on this site here. Also try my facebook page called EDDIE FISHER - WISH YOU WERE HERE. Someone just this morning posted Full Moon And Empty Arms there. Eddie has many Irving Berlin songs on youtube and just listen to him sing, for example, That Old Feeling.
I stand corrected and I suppose I shouldn’t make such a blanket statement about the 50's songs. Strange you should mention Full Moon and Empty Arms when I was thinking of that song today. I listened to Eddie and yes, it's masterful. I like your page.
Tony Martin leaves Bing Crosby in the dust! What a lovely voice he had.
His voice was just wonderful....he obviously had a lot of training...He has great control...and sings softly when needed.....handsome guy, too.
So Beautiful. I am so glad I was living in this era where I could see these Artists on Television Variety shows.
He does a great job on this. Perfectly suited for his soaring tenor
not a tenor,

My mother's favorite singer. Wasn't he sensational! Merci❤️
Nice performance; beautiful voice that is powerful but gentle at the same time.
completely agree
ALL THE THINGS YOU ARE
You are the promised kiss of springtime
That makes the lonely winter seem long
You are the breathless hush of evening
That trembles on the brink of a lovely song
You are the angel glow
That lights a star
The dearest things I know
Are what you are
Someday
My happy arms will hold you
And someday
I'll know that moment divine
When all the things you are,
ARE MINE

PAUL VESELY both him and Gordon MacRae give me goosebumps.

Even Frank Sinatra said Martin had the best pipes in the business.

Sinatra said it about Vic Damone 😉

LOVE - TONY MARTIN - FROM THE 1940'S TIMES --HE WAS A WONDERFUL SINGER!
Ah, when singers actually sang!
Right!
WOW !!!
I think I am in love!
Wow. He is gorgeous and what a voice.
Also a lucky man to have been married to the gorgeous Cyd Charisse.
Que canciones tan chingonas
I previously only heard the Sinatra version. Tony Martin does a wonderful job with it, too.
Sorry Ben, Can't agree . I don't think anyone does this song better than Tony Martin. Frank Sinatra is a legend but Tony Martin had a better voice.
@Thunder Beast I can't find the Michael Jackson rendition . Can you help ?

Wow this is almost as sweet and melodious as the Maynard Ferguson version of this song with Charlie Barnet and also Stan Kenton.
So handsome and with a beautiful voice lucky. Him vip
nice
Tony Martin cantaba muy chingon como Raúl Martínez en mexico se los recomiendo
💋💋💋❤️❤️❤️
he was married to cyd charisse
Sure... for 63 years till Cyd's death, aged 87. He lived on... till he turned 99. Amazing couple on stage and in marriage.
Tony's later work with Black Sabbath was very underrated.
:) ☕
El hombre más afortunado del mundo: marido de Cyd Charisse ...

+CarlDuke Eddie Fisher?
+nape jack Yes, if you take into account everything, voice, range, emotional impact and presentation, I rate him number one.

He reminds me a bit of Luke Evans...
Swoon
AT THE HEADLESS CRO... OOOPS, WAIT!
WRONG TONY MARTIN, SORRY
Yes, but can he carry a tune?
I watch so much old comedy I really need something to fall on him or a bunch of turkeys gobble through, feathers flying.

He looks a bit like his brother Dean but sings way better
Tony Martin was Jewish. No relation to Dean Martin who was Italian .
They weren't brothers!! Both had different italian surnames.
@@roccodecarlo7683 no Tony was italian. Eddie Fisher was Jewish.
