I grew up there! I left 50 years ago. I've visited but nothing will ever be as magical as childhood in Newport, where we ran barefoot around the fun zone, ate frozen banana 🍌 played in the arcade! Swam in the bay, bodysurfed in the waves. Fished from the pier. Went illegal lobstering on the jetty. 😅 I left at 24, it sure was a fun childhood!

I'd love for you to dive a little deeper on any notable areas (e.g. when mentioning a bar scene, maybe call out a few bars and restaurants that you like). I watch these videos not only to learn more about the city, but what key stores/restaurants/shops to visit while I'm there (in addition to learning more about the areas within a city).
Hey thanks for making this video! I lived there for the first 14 years of my life, but moved to Florida. I thought it would be fine, but it just isnt't. I'm almost 16 now and I'm hoping that in two years I can move back to newport. I think about this place every day now

On Friday I'd park my car and not touch it again until Monday morning, spent my whole weekend on my bike, surfing, being wild at the local bars, and chasing pretty girls! hahaa. I miss it. Too bad normal people can't afford to live there anymore. When I was there if you had a decent white-collar office job you could have a good life in newport, today you gotta' be a millionaire to scrape by. I live 100% abroad these days, exploring Spain and south america, more or less searching for my next Newport Beach! 🙂
That's a silly question. Of course it would be - California is almost always warm, especially by the coast of course. Also, most hotels have heated pools, especially high end hotels.
It’s getting bad down here. Down by balboa island there’s homeless ppl living in there cars and rvs. There’s trash, needles and shit like everywhere because the ppl in Newport Beach treat the help like dogs so most have to live outside
I used to make more money as a waiter in Tacoma Washington then in Newport Beach but I’ve already decided once I’m homeless I’m gonna pick the nicest house and pitch a tent and I’m never gonna stop no matter how many times I’m removed
