In 2017 I arrive to work on my go ped at 545 in the morning when I fell straight off my goped and hit the ground it hurt so bad I started crying they almost called a ambulance but it hurt so bad I had to sit on the curb for a wile then I get to work my knee hurts so I cal my mom at 6 clock in the morning crying mom I fell off my go ped and my knee hurts a lot and my thigh so then I’m doing my mornings chores at work when my manager noticed I didn’t say good morning back and how I looked so he was nice and ask what was wrong then later that day it got swollen and it hurt. So 3 days later I’m at the chiropractor he’s bending my knee it hurts so bad when he does it but doesn’t do anything else so I go home I’m pain then 4 days later the chiropractor wife say I think something is serious wrong with your knee it’s swollen and it’s not better so we looks on line and tells me to call the orthopedic surgeon so I do 2 days before my birthday I’m at the doctors waiting for him he comes in after X-rays they can’t find anything on the X-ray so he like I don’t like how your knee doesn’t bend we are going to do pt I told him it made a loud crack so he like actually your going to get a mri so days later I go back he’s like you did a nondisplaces lateral Tibial plateau so he gave me a brace to wear…. But back in 2015 I did the same fracture and did a mcl grade 2 from a bean bag at my chiropractor house when we noticed it hurt so bad to straighten the leg we new something was wrong the doctor still laughs at that injury today we

My scaphoid consolidated in 8 weeks after surgery. Mine was broken to 4 pcs, 2 small pcs were removed and 2 was united with a screw. Now i'm recovering my wrist range of motion too.
My surgery was in the end of May and today 23 of August and i got maybe 50% range of motion back. I'm 35, never broke bones before too. It is good that you rejected long immobilization with a cast. It is very very very hard to return full range of motion after such long immobilization of elbow and wrist.

my first break was also my wrist. Was relearning to ride a bicycle after 25 years. Had managed to go around the carpark but steering was wide. Took it out the next night (had double shift and only quiet time at carpark is after 10 but it's well lit) and went along the path by the carpark. Steering went all over the place and as i tried to straighten I just made it worse. Tried pulling the brakes but kept turning the gears instead. Managed to stop but fell to the side. Put hand out to stop the fall by grabbing onto the bushes but it went straight through and landed hard. Head bounced off the ground. Expected my helmet to have cracked it was so hard, but it held up. Knew straight away something was wrong as hand and wrist felt like a dead fish. Pain was at a 7 by the time I got in touch with the medical team (NHS24) but had to wait 10 hours before being seen at the minor injuries department. Turned out I had not only dislocated my hand but had severely broken my wrist in several places. Had my bones reset the next day under local anesthetic and sent home in a cast. Week later went back and was told it hadn't set properly and was still shifting. Best option was to have a plate inserted. Given this was my dominant hand I went ahead. Has been a week since surgery. Wrist still stiff but slowly getting more movement with my fingers. Biggest challenge is building strength as the pain kicks in if I overuse my hand. Changing dressings daily and the gauze over the incision site is now sliding so hopefully that will fall off naturally next time I clean the area. I also have a splint that I wear daily to keep it immobilised while healing but luckily it can be taken off for cleaning the wound.

I just had surgery. And I learnt the hard way, get it checked as soon as it happens.
I fell of a ladder in jan 10 months ago and only got it xrayed last month. Now its gonna be in a cast for 6months
When it happened it was actually my first day on the job for a carpentry apprenticeship. And when it happened they wouldn't fill out an incident report. I told them what happened and was in alot of pain but they told me to just go home. I wasn't an official apprentice and felt the pressure, like everyone depending on me to get this job. So when they asked me if I can still work I told them yes and continued to work for another 8 months. I quit because they weren't good people to work for and decided to get my hand checked out. Turns out my wrist was broken all this time and because it was left so long, had to have a bone graft and screw.

Dude! I did an almost identical fall on July 16! Only I was climbing down from our truck camper and missed the step. Difference is I sat up and looked at my hand and immediately knew I had broken my wrist. My hand was in a misaligned position, my fingers were curled, I couldn't move them, and the pain was so intense that I threw up. Went to urgent care, ( this was on a Sunday). They xrayed and immediately sent me to the ER because a bone was literally where it shouldn't be. At the hospital I found out I had a displaced scaphoid fracture. They did an internal reduction, splinted it and referred me to a hand surgeon. Ten days later I had surgery and now I have a plate and pins holding my wrist together. And I'm a post menopausal 58 year old woman, so this healing is gonna be slooowwww.😢

Yup! Broke mine in a fight 2 years ago didn’t even know, had pain but kept on working as a carpenter. Got sick of it, got it checked out, half scaphoid has lost all blood supply and need a bone grapht. So 3 months post surgery now, 2 screws in my wrist, only allowed to move it very slightly without the splint on! But healing well, my advice to anyone out there, get it fixed ASAP! Otherwise it just gets worse, surgeons next option was to fuse my wrist. Good luck!

@@lachlangooch1040 I just had surgery.
