If you love the sound of Johnny Marr on a Rickenbaker, play The Headmaster Ritual. It's a complex song that took him 3 years to write, longer than any other Smiths song, and it has multiple Rickenbaker tracks playing on it.
Probably the low key the best guitar player. shares a stage with Guthrie for a reason and soundtracked my youth turned me vegan when I was 16 and I've been trying to rip him off since ❤
My brother has 2 beautiful Rickenbackers a 1984 330 and 1990s 360 . He used to have a 1963 335 with the violin hole it was a sunburst red one ,absolutely gorgeous ,and he played it through an old Vox AC 30 amp .
Genius. A Rickenbacker has a tone of its own, but when you combine it with a player that has their own unique touch you end up getting a sound that is uncopyable. Genius. 🖖🤓👍❤️
Ok, I know this Rick sounds classic " jangle" , but is this truly the natural or native sound? I think it sounds like a chorus and or flanger added. I never played a Rick and only hear them in actual songs! I fell in love with the sound when I heard the early Beatles songs! Ticket to Ride ,I feel Fine , come to mind as my favorites. Next Tom Petty tunes that feature his Rick are also amazing. Even the Losers, Hear Comes My Girl, The Waiting. All classic Rickenbacker sound!! If this is how they truly sound, I will save my pennies for one!!!
@@teodormrdenovic1981 The title is "What difference does it make?" It's the 9th track of eleven off the The Smiths self titled debut. I would slot it as the fourth best song on the album and for the life of me I have No idea why it wasn't the opening track!!??🤔

beautiful, love Marr's tone.
Sheeesh, that Rickenbacker tone ❤
He's one of the few iconic guitarists of the 80-90s, he had an instantly recognisable sound.
Who was he with?

Mick and Dan, you’re spoiling us! This is great!
You guys are doing wonderful collabs -- keep it up!
Excellent sounding signal chain from guitar to the ears. Not too syrupy. Very pure and direct sounding with the perfect sprinkling of sauces.
I could listen to this guy play and talk all day.

Bro, I'm Salfordian and The Smiths are treated like royalty in these parts, but he's no where near the best guitar player 😂

Killer guitarist, he made the Smiths. There is only one problem with Rickys, they are so friggin expensive. I could only ever dream of owning one.
And you never see one second-hand that isn't thrashed into permanent dogshit

Rickenbacker and a chorus pedal. The sound of The Smiths.
What wood is that on the fretboard? Certainly not indian rosewood.
They are good for chords. Their necks feel too narrow for lead playing to me, but arpeggiated chords are great.
