One of the most cleverly written coal mining songs, Branford and Omar Hakim gives that awesome edge to the song with Sting's haunting vocals in respect of the song
One of the first albums I bought from Sting after he left the police for this project. Guess what, it was real vinyl in my time!!! To my opinion, one of the best moves, after the Police, to become the artist he is now.
Most of The Dream Of The Blue Turtles sounds a bit hermetic. Sting tends to perfection the production too much. The live versions are usually a bit more vibrant and maybe in places also a better showcase of the musicians' quality. Also it isn't a fault to know that he is breathing at all.
Think when he wrote the song it was more to do with the destruction of communities by the Conservatives under Thatcher more than environmental issues.......

Such a brilliant version of a great song.
Harmonies in chorus get me every time.

Simply amazing.
This blows away the studio album version because apart from the sound, it just has that extra bit of pace and power.

Essa música tem um alto teor de profundidade.
This tune could be sooo cool in 5/4 :)))
Branford f*cking Marsalis.
I first heard this sun a cappella and I can't find it anywhere...It's much better sung a cappella

I wonder what Stings attitude to coal and coal mines is today, in 2020.
