Yes! People are always looking for a magic bullet for success. The reality is it takes time and dedicated effort to learn and master a skill. I started drawing and writing music when I was in grade school. It took going through art high school, college and working as both a graphic designer and songwriter for 20 plus years before I got a major break into what I considered success 🙂 Bravo to you! People keep asking me to create a video editing course but I am hesitant for the same reasons you outlined here. Great post!

I do think there are reasons to purchase courses, especially if you’re running up against barriers as you’re trying to get started. They are not the ‘be all and end all’ but definitely can be beneficial to some people. When you don’t really know what you’re doing, another opinion or focus can help change the direction. Your Fiverr learn is awesome. I watched the whole thing!!

Congratulations on your course! :-) And thank you for the massive discount! I do agree with you on courses in general. I'm embarrassed to admit I signed up for a course that cost more than ten times the cost of your course (more than twenty times w/discount) only to discover I could have found equivalent content with an online subscription to Chicago Manual of Style. Yikes! And then the instructor had a full blown meltdown on every social media platform after she became a millionaire. What a mess! I will say the course motivated me to do something with it - not sure I would have been open to Fiverr if I hadn't dropped so much money on the world of words. You don't know what you don't know.

Hi Carrie! Great video. My question is, can all sellers on Fiverr make their own courses? I am a level 2 seller and was thinking about putting my own course out there. What do you have to say about that?
Not quite sure what you mean. Anyone can make a course about anything, but that doesn’t mean you should. I’m pretty critical of the over-saturation of the online courses industry in general, but at the end of the day it comes down a judgment of your expertise, teaching skills, and knowledge value.
... If you’re referring to launching a Fiverr Learn course - no, I think it’s by invitation only.
Does doing these courses help when trying to get approved with fiverr pro? Since your profile gets a badge at the end right?
I think for a Fiverr pro application they’re looking for real-world professional experience, education, and extensive portfolios that go a lot farther than these kinds of courses. But at least they’re inexpensive and easy to access, so if you’re interested in taking it for yourself, I say go for it! Yay for continuing education 🙃 bit.ly/carriebloggercourse
@@carrieblogger Thanks for the info! I personally have over 500+ positive reviews on fiverr for Fb advertising BUT I want to go fiverr pro with video editing. I'm looking for ways to strengthen my application before I apply. I don't have a massive video editing portfolio nor do I have gigs with reviews for it so I was thinking of doing the tests & courses that fiverr offers to see if that would give my application that extra POP it might need
